00:00Delighted to confirm that our Women and Children's Hospital has been given the go-ahead by government
00:05today. The Secretary of State for Health and Social Care has announced the hospitals which
00:10will form part of the new first wave of the new hospital programme and I'm absolutely
00:14thrilled to be able to let everybody know that our Women's and Children's Hospital has
00:19been formally announced today as being in that first wave of new developments. We've
00:25received confirmation that those hospitals will commence their construction between
00:312025 and 2030 and this is a huge, really significant milestone for health services in Cornwall
00:40and the Isles of Scilly. We're sharing this as soon as we've found out. I'm sure we'll
00:44get more information over the coming days and weeks from government but that is a fantastic
00:49outcome for patients, for communities and for people who work in health and care in
00:55Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. It does mean that we can proceed immediately with
00:59our enabling schemes. We've already announced the intentions around cardiac services relocation
01:05and our electrical infrastructure upgrades. Those things will be happening at pace over
01:10the course of the next 12 months and we'll be rapidly progressing our final business
01:14case safe in the knowledge that government have approved our Women and Children's Hospital
01:19in wave one of the new hospital programme. Thank you.
