The total assets declared by former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s two sons to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) amounted to over RM1.2bil, according to MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki.
"I am satisfied with the declaration by both,” Azam said, adding that investigations are still ongoing.

00:00Where are you from? Okay, go ahead
00:02I would like to ask, the case regarding the possession of Dr. Mahathir's son
00:08and also the case involving Dr. Naeem and his family, do you have any comments?
00:12Oh, two questions, okay. It's okay, it's okay.
00:14Slowly, okay?
00:16In connection with the possession, I would like to point out to the possessor
00:20of Dr. Mahathir's son
00:23First of all, this case is a investigation against Dr. Mahathir
00:26which I have previously reported
00:29And that's one thing
00:32Another thing, in connection with the possession
00:34Both of them, Dr. Mahathir's son, have given me possession
00:39personally, because I issued a notice
00:42or it's called a warrant
00:44to compel the person to declare their assets under section 36.1
00:49of MHCC Act 2009
00:51So, firstly
00:54they have complied with my request and that of the investigators
01:01to declare their assets, including the possession of assets, shares, etc.
01:08So, I am satisfied with the investigation by both of them
01:14However, I would like to provide a little information about the investigation
01:21just not in detail
01:23In connection with Tansi Mauzani
01:26the amount of assets he has claimed
01:29is more or less 1 billion plus plus
01:32which is stated
01:34which means, here we have to divide it into two
01:37one is his personal value
01:39his personal value is more or less 360 million
01:43and other than that, you can reject it
01:45there are some assets
01:47there are also some shares, etc.
01:50So, we have to reject their liabilities
01:55So, I have to correct this perception
01:58because sometimes we are challenged with various questions
02:02such as, is it true that this and that
02:05the possession of assets is related
02:07So, this is what my officers from the SIPP Forum, etc.
02:11have done an assessment
02:14or more precisely, an analysis
02:17on the assets that have been declared
02:20Likewise, with Dato' Mirzal
02:23whose total assets amounted to 246.2 million
02:30and his personal value is more or less 120 million ringgit
02:34and the rest of the assets
02:36are rejected from the total assets
02:39to the personal value
02:41are related to the shares and other assets that he has
02:45and we have taken into account
02:48their liabilities
02:51Okay, this investigation is still going on
02:55as per the declaration of assets
02:57We will know the next developments
03:00regarding the investigation
