00:00I was diagnosed with stage 1 cervical cancer. It wasn't expected. When I had my son, two
00:19years later I decided to go get a smear. My mum had told me to get a smear. It was terrifying
00:25for my family, for my children. I had such a busy life schedule that I didn't know who
00:35was going to take care of my kids. I didn't know what it entailed with treatments. I didn't
00:42know what impact it would have completely on my life. My family was in complete disarray.
00:47Being 29, it was just a complete shock. Having the children, it was just, everyone was questioning
00:55everything. I couldn't give anyone answers. I'd never been through it before. You never
01:00know as it comes. I have 10 years remission, which is quite daunting, but we're just making
01:08the most of making memories with the kids, spending time with family, just doing the
01:13things that everyone took for granted in life. It takes 15 minutes. It can save your life.
01:22It can save everyone's heartache of losing their loved one and save your children's heartache.
01:32You can watch your kids grow up. You can be there for your family. It's just silly not to.
