00:00Police have summoned four speakers at a recent press conference over a professor accused

00:07of sharing nude pictures of himself with students, a University Malaya club said today.

00:13The UM Feminism Club said the four were informed by police that they had violated the Peaceful

00:18Assembly Act 2012 and were summoned for questioning.

00:22One of the four gave a statement last week while the remaining three, which include UMFC

00:27and Chin Jess Wing, are scheduled to be questioned on Saturday morning.

00:32The other three speakers are UM Gender Studies Master's graduate spokesman S Indra Malar,

00:37Wong Siao Yu of University Tunku Abdul Rahman, and UM Academic Staff Association Exco Anis

00:44Jaryazid.

00:45UMFC said they were confused as to why the authorities had been extra vigilant towards

00:51the event from the onset, including by deploying a significant number of armed police at the

00:56press conference.

00:58It also criticised the use of the PAA to target those standing in solidarity with the victims

01:04of sexual harassment, saying that it could discourage victims from filing police reports

01:09against the professor in question.

01:12Last month, UM said it had suspended the professor in line with the Statutory Bodies Act 2000.
