The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said on Tuesday, Jan. 21, that Kanlaon Volcano has emitted ash five times in the past 24 hours and remains under Alert Level 3 due to ongoing “magmatic unrest.”
According to Phivolcs, the ash emissions, which lasted between eight and 58 minutes, produced plumes rising to 300 meters before drifting westward.
