00:13who some people wanted, and I was very high on that hire.
00:17But like I said in Speaks with you,
00:19when it failed, I would have done it again.
00:23Like, the thought process on Matt Nagy was correct.
00:27The results just didn't work.
00:29And so I'm very happy that just because that failed,
00:33the Bears were not afraid to go for the home run hire,
00:37the upside hire, the guy who could develop
00:39and grow with Caleb Williams hire.
00:41Like, the only thing Ben Johnson doesn't have
00:43on his resume is head coaching experience,
00:47but he checks every other box,
00:49including giving yourself a really high ceiling
00:52on the offensive side of the ball.
00:53So I think Bears fans should be thrilled.
00:55And the boxes, Parko, that Nagy was supposed to check,
01:01he actually didn't because as you told us
01:03when you got here, he wasn't the guy calling the plays
01:06except for a few times in his era with Andy Reid.

01:18he also doesn't have, like, he can't say I've done it
01:21with multiple different quarterbacks.
01:24Those coaches don't become available for head coaching gigs.

01:30Kyle Shanahan did it with Matt Ryan in Atlanta
01:34as a coordinator, gets the Niners job,
01:36then he can claim, look, I also won with Jimmy Garoppolo
01:40and Brock Purdy, Andy Reid, Kevin Cobb and Jeff Garcia
01:44and Mike Vick and Alex Smith and Donovan McNabb,
01:47and then obviously Patrick Mahomes.
01:49But in order to have, like, that many pelts on the wall
01:51at quarterback, you have to be a head coach.
01:54Matt LeFleur, Aaron Rodgers, he was declining,
01:57then he wins two MVPs with them,
01:58then Jordan Love looks good, Sean McVay, Jared Goff,
02:02and then Matt Stafford and an excellent play caller
02:05and all that, like, there's not,
02:06the guys who have multiple quarterbacks on the wall
02:09as success stories, the only way you get there
02:11is by being a head coach.
