00:00Let me tell you what Notre Dame's got.
00:02It's not analytical.
00:04You can't statistically look at it.
00:06They have chemistry.
00:07After they lost to Northern Illinois, and I watched that coach react to his players
00:13and the players react to him, they've had something special.
00:17Very few times do you get that.
00:19They've got a team that finds a way to win.
00:22Now I've got them covered.
00:23I've got them with the points.
00:25I haven't gone as far as you have, but it wouldn't shock me because of the chemistry
00:29they have, the rapport they have, and the fact that they've found a way to win.
00:33They've got a quarterback that he knows how to win.
00:36If they need three yards, he gets three yards for a first down.
00:39He knows when to tuck it and get the first down.
00:41He won't kill you with his passing yardage.
00:43He won't kill you with his total rushing yardage.
00:46Every yard he makes, though, will be valuable.
00:47So I can see where Notre Dame has a way to win the football game.
00:52I just can't pull away from the talent.
00:54Turnovers, big plays will be a factor.
00:57They've got to get a couple things like that.
00:59Both defenses are so good, you can't expect an over, I don't think, in this game.
01:04We're talking about the number one scoring defense and the number two scoring defense,
01:08and then we're talking about Notre Dame's got the number one passing defense in the
01:11country.
01:12I don't see a lot of scoring, but I do see Notre Dame having a chance to pull it off
01:17just because of what they've done with their season.
01:19Coach, I saw Michigan punch Ohio State in the Adam's apple with a sucker haymaker and
01:26beat them in Columbus.
01:28I saw Texas sit at the one yard line with first and goal at a tie game, blow the game
01:34with bad play calling by Sarkeesian and his OC without a doubt, going sideways, pitching
01:40the ball back and running sideways.
01:42I thought they blew the game.
01:44So I've seen Ohio State in trouble twice.
01:47I never thought they were in trouble against Oregon in Eugene.
01:51I thought they blew the game with bad clock management by Howard, but I have seen them
01:57make mistakes and get beat.
02:00So why am I to think that they're so awesome and that literally everyone in a country that
02:06matters that does TV nationally or otherwise, I mean, is there a soul on the side of the
02:11earth that isn't picking Ohio State to run away with this game?
02:15I don't understand it.
02:17You would think that Ohio State was playing the little sisters of the poor.
02:22Now, I mean, that's what you look at the DDO scoring defense is probably the most important
02:28stat that you can have with a football team, and they're both at the very top, which means
02:33the game's got a great chance to be closed and turn the ball.
02:36Don't turn it over.
02:37Don't give up a big play.
02:38And let me go back to that.
02:40Their coach has a special report.
02:42It's almost like he's so young.
02:43He's naive.
02:44He doesn't stand on the sideline like he's fearful everything bad is going to happen.
02:48I think the players respond to him that way.
02:51That's why I don't think you can be shocked if Notre Dame does go out there and play and
02:55win the football game.
02:57I still go with talent being the most important thing there is.
03:01My dad used to say, I can win a championship if I have great leadership and I don't have
03:06injuries.
03:07It's the one thing Notre Dame has not been able to control.
03:10They've lost about five key players.
03:12That's why I'm saying their strength is their synergy, their chemistry, that the way they
03:18pull together and believe they can win.
03:20Nothing happened at Northern Illinois to Notre Dame that has changed the way they are.
03:25And by the time I watched the way they thumped Georgia, now Georgia's not as good as they
03:29were in their championship years, but that game wasn't close, you know?
03:32And a lot of people are picking Georgia to be in this championship game.
03:35So I think you're, hey, I think you've got plenty of argument.
03:38I still think if you look at most of the people and reason the lines out there, you've got
03:43Ohio State still with more talent in almost every position from wide receiver to running
03:50back to defense, and you've got to go with an intangible, that gut feeling, that visceral
03:56feeling, not cerebral, but the visceral feeling, these son of a guns are going to find a way
04:01to win.
04:02So, you know, I understand what you're saying.
