Football Rebooted has been launched by David James, who formerly played for Portsmouth FC. Utilita’s Football Rebooted started with the idea of saving millions of football boots from going to landfill. The scheme has been set up so that people can donate good quality boots.

00:00Hi, I'm Dave James, and I'm here at Tesco Extra in Fratton, and I'm here to launch the first football rebooted box in a soup store in England.
00:13What's it like to be back in Portsmouth today?
00:16Wonderful to be back here in Portsmouth. I don't come back as often as maybe I should.
00:21Every time I come back though, I do enjoy myself. I'm going to watch the game today, Portsmouth beating Middlesbrough, and enjoy watching the super mighty Pompey with all the Pompey fans cheering all the way.
00:34Tell me a little bit about Football Rebooted.
00:38Football Rebooted is a campaign launched by Utilita Energy. It's an environmental campaign to begin with.
00:45A million pairs of unused football boots, rather than going into landfill, can be redistributed in the local community, encouraging people to get active, to participate in football, to benefit from mental health, physical health and social wellbeing, and basically just get active.
01:04Thank you. I was going to ask you how important it is for young people to be active. I think you've answered it. Thank you, David. Thank you for speaking to the news.
01:12Wonderful, sir. Thank you.
