00:00Let's go to Corey in the car, waiting patiently. Go ahead, Corey.
00:03Yeah, I just wanted to talk about the Brady vs. Mahomes thing,
00:06and to preface this, I am not a Pats fan, so this is kind of impartial,
00:09but the thing that drives me crazy about all these great conversations,
00:12none of them ever played each other. Brady never played Montana.
00:15Jordan never played LeBron. Mahomes played Brady twice in the playoffs,
00:19and he's 0-2. You know, or I'm sorry, Mahomes is 0-2.
00:22And, you know, you could argue if there's a 10-year difference,
00:25you know, where Mahomes is older or Brady's younger,
00:28he's just Peyton Manning. He's just great during the regular season,
00:31can't get past Brady. And the evidence shows, you know, it is what it is.
00:34It drives me crazy.
00:35Okay, so that's fair. I think that's totally fair.
00:37Yeah, the head-to-head helps.
00:39Brady 2-0 against Mahomes.
00:40You know who had a winning record against Brady in the playoffs?
00:43Yeah, eventually, right?
00:45Peyton Manning.
00:45Yeah, not at first, but then he did.
00:47So something tells me Patriots fans don't want to hear that,
00:49so put all the stock you want in that,
00:51but Peyton Manning head-to-head with Tom Brady in the postseason, 3-2.
00:55Mahomes, 0-2, head-to-head with Tom Brady.
00:57So if you want to play that game, let's play that game.
01:00But then let's play it with Brady and Manning.
01:01And I wouldn't take Manning over Brady.
01:04I'm not insane, but that's what those numbers would tell you to do
01:07if that's what we're basing it on.
01:08That's what the caller wants to base it on.
01:09Yeah.
01:10I love—Andy Hart has a great take.
01:12Where—
01:13Oh, yeah.
01:14Those two games, okay?
01:15The AFC title game, Patriots and Chiefs,
01:18and then the Super Bowl, Chiefs and Bucs.
01:21Those two games are the difference.
01:24Like, they've completely swung Brady versus Mahomes.
01:27If Mahomes wins both those games,
01:29Brady already isn't considered the greatest of all time.
01:32Mahomes already is.
01:33It's crazy.
01:33If they split, it's much more of a debate.
01:35Yeah.
01:35Those two games are the only reason that Brady is still considered the greatest of all time.
01:40No, right.
01:41Brady has himself, literally, to thank for him still being the GOAT.
01:45Like, the true GOAT, and it's going to take a little while now
01:47because, you know, those were two opportunities that Mahomes had.
01:51Those were two really good teams.
01:52That's just one Super Bowl loss.
01:54That was another team that easily could have won—
01:56not easily, but I think would have won the Super Bowl.
01:58Had they advanced in 18, they probably would have beaten the Rams.
02:01So you're right.
02:02That is a big swing right there.
02:04But I think when it's all said and done, there's going to be a million things.
02:07We're going to look at record.
02:08We're going to look at MVPs.
02:10We're going to look at touchdowns.
02:11We're going to look at number of Super Bowls.
02:13If there was a three-peat, head-to-head, like, it'll all be included.
02:17Here's one thing we should agree on.
02:18If anybody says, why is Brady the GOAT?
02:20What's their answer?
02:23Why is he the GOAT?
02:24Super Bowls, I guess?
02:24The rings.
02:25Yeah, seven Super Bowls.
02:26Right, that's what Patriots fans currently say.
02:28Yeah.
02:28So if Mahomes ever ties or passes him, they're going to have to move the goalposts.
02:33Because, like, right now, the go-to thing is—
02:34Well, if he wins eight, I don't think anybody's going to say anything.
02:37Well, I don't know what people are going to say.
02:38Patriots fans will probably be hanging on to exactly what the caller just said.
02:40Oh, Brady beat him twice, head-to-head!
02:43You know, there'll be Steelers fans screaming about Bradshaw and Niners fans screaming about Montez.
02:47So all I'm saying is, you know, we can come up with a million things, to your point.
02:52And we probably will.
02:52And there's more to it than just the rings.
02:54Right.
02:55But that's the main retort we hear now.
02:56If Mahomes ever catches him, or if Mahomes ever passes him, then look out.
03:00And I, by the way, I'm not sure he needs to.
03:02I'm not sure he needs to catch Brady to be considered the greatest of all time.
03:07Like, I'll give you an example.
03:08Does LeBron have four?
03:09LeBron has four, right?
03:10Yeah.
03:11LeBron Jordan is a debate.
03:12Not for me.
03:13Okay, not for you.
03:15But to me, that is a debate.
03:16I'm on the Jordan side, too.
03:17Yeah.
03:18But if LeBron wins another and it's six to five, I might give it to LeBron.
03:22Do you count the bubble one?
03:23Yes.
03:24Eh, not a title.
03:25We all would count it if the Celtics won it.
03:27They played in a literally Mickey Mouse building.
03:30There were no crowd.
03:31There was no home road.
03:32Put an asterisk on it.
03:33That's fine.
03:33I just took it away.
03:35Okay, well, put an asterisk on it.
03:36I'm okay with that.
03:37Don't take it away.
03:39It's gone.
03:40Tim Duncan won a lockout short in the year.
03:42Does that have an asterisk?
03:43A little bit different.
03:43Home crowd, travel schedule, the whole thing.
03:45Shorter season.
03:46Does it have an asterisk or no?
03:48That one does not.
03:49You take one away from Duncan, you don't.
03:50You notice one there?
03:50No.
03:51Let's take a look at my numbers.
03:53Very interesting.
03:55So yeah, no, I give LeBron that one.
03:56I'm still with Jordan.
03:57Well, I'll give you this.
03:57But I'm saying, I don't think LeBron needs to win six to catch Jordan.
04:00And I'm not sure, depending on how it plays out,
04:02Mahomes needs to win seven to catch Brady.
04:05You think LeBron's winning another one?
04:06I don't.
04:07So I don't think, I'm with you on Mahomes.
04:08Like, if it's all said and done, and say he even, like, doubles up his regular season MVPs.
04:12Like, I look at all this crap, like, all pros and, like, stuff like that,
04:15and he's won Super Bowl short, but maybe there's a three-peat in there.
04:19Like, if they win it this year, that's something that also is sort of a distinction.
04:22If there happens to be an undefeated season, like, all that stuff is a little bit of a distinction.
04:27I do wonder, like, will he win, this is getting way ahead of ourselves,
04:30but does he win all of his Super Bowls with Andy Reid?
04:33Or does he win one with somebody else?
04:35Good call, because Brady did.
04:37Yeah, and that was like, holy smokes,
04:39because at that point, Belichick was getting maybe as much credit.
04:42And then as soon as you saw him win with Bruce Arians on the Tampa Bay Bucs,
04:45you're like, holy mackerel.
04:46That's a good point.
04:47Text line, good point.
04:48LeBron also won the NBA Cup.
04:50Jordan never won that, so I want to add that.
04:52Add that to LeBron's legacy.
04:53Let me give you another one for Mahomes.
04:54LeBron drawing.
04:55Yep.
04:56What if Mahomes wins six and he walks away at 33?
05:00Do you know what I mean?
05:01Brady gets a lot of credit for winning into his 40s.
05:04It'll be scoreboard 76.
05:05That's what I'm saying, but, like, that would be an interesting debate.
05:07Mahomes walks away early.
05:09Could he have won more? We'll never know.
05:11Brady gets a lot of credit for playing deep into his 40s
05:13and playing at a high level deep into his 40s.
05:14So that, to me, would be, there'd be nuance there and debate there.
05:17All I'm saying is, the rings settle a lot of debates.
05:20Yeah.
05:21But I don't think Mahomes needs to catch him, necessarily,
05:24to be considered the greatest of all time.
05:25He does need to win more than three,
05:27and he would need to win more than four.
05:30Will anything change, personnel-wise,
05:32in terms of their approach this offseason
05:33to McDaniels as the offensive coordinator, Keith?
05:35Like, fullback's back.
05:37They already talked about that a little bit, right?
05:38Well, that's kind of what I wonder, is the fullback here,
05:41is it more two tight ends?
05:43And does that change, is...
05:44Yeah, it could be.
05:45I wonder about stuff like this,
05:47and is that the right direction for an offense in 2025?
05:51Like, fullbacks and two tight ends.
05:53Is that what I want?
05:54I guess it depends on who your tight ends are.
05:56Like, if you're tight ends...
05:56Hunter Henry and someone else.
05:59It's not going to be Hooper.
06:02Or Hooper would be your third.
06:04I don't think you want to go two tight ends
06:05and run that personnel all day long.
06:07But the one thing, and you know me,
06:09I would go five wide receivers and throw it every play,
06:11so I'm not the right guy to ask,
06:12but the two tight end thing, right now,
06:15how many wide receivers on the current roster
06:17do you feel good about playing?
06:18Not many.
06:19Maybe zero?
06:20Yeah, maybe zero.
06:21So, even if you get one in a trade
06:24and sign one in free agency,
06:27now you still only have two that you really like.
06:29So, two tight ends allows you to really focus
06:32on those two wide receivers.
06:33You throw it back, back there.
06:34But the Chiefs run two tight ends a lot.
06:37Yeah, they do.
06:37Noah Gray and Travis Kelsey.
06:38Chiefs do?
06:39I mean, I feel like...
06:40You could say this isn't the Chiefs' stereotypical offense,
06:44but they do do it.
06:45Ravens will do it a lot.
06:46Bills will do it a lot.
06:48So, look, maybe I'm coming at it the wrong way.
06:49How much does Detroit do it?
06:50Detroit does an extra lineman all the time.
06:52I don't know about the other guy.
06:54I feel like they don't run a ton of two tight ends.
06:56I could be wrong about that.
06:57Somebody fact-check me.
06:57But I think they bring in an extra offensive lineman.
07:00That's what they do.
07:01They throw to their lineman all the time.
07:02But you know what?
07:02Bills, Ravens, Chiefs do run a lot of two tight ends.
07:07Yeah, so you could do it.
07:08So, maybe it's not as outdated as I want to make it seem.
07:11But I would also think of that.
07:14Not just McDaniels and how he compares to other offensive coordinators,
07:18but the offense that he runs, the personnel they got to get for it.
07:22That is going to be different.
07:23And that's another pivot for Drake May, too.
07:26It's not just relearning the offense and the language in the offense,
07:28which is one thing.
07:29I think it's overstated, but it's something to consider.
07:32Now you're changing up personnel.
07:33And what best suits Drake May?
07:35617-779-7937.
07:38Let's go to Rick and Natick.
07:39Hello, Rick.
07:41What's up, guys?
07:42How we doing?
07:42Good.
07:44Yeah, Rich, big fan.
07:46Love you back at 10 o'clock.
07:47And I'm 100% on your side over the whole beverage gate.
07:50I work in a place that shares refrigerator.
07:52She's got to get her act together.
07:54Agreed.
07:54Thank you, Rick.
07:57So, I want to talk defensive coordinating.
07:59Everybody's talking offense.
08:00I personally think offense is Josh McDaniel.
08:02Makes sense.
08:03He's not going to be a head coach.
08:05He's going to be here a while.
08:06And Jones, you know, fullback.
08:07You can put you as a fullback.
08:09It's about the alignment of the offense.
08:12Put an offensive lineman in there with tight end.
08:14You don't really need a traditional fullback.
08:16No, no, no.
08:16I would be like a Jones would get blown off.
08:18I would have to be like a Larry Senner's type.
08:21It'd be not a lot of blocking going on.
08:23I'm fanning out into the flat.
08:25But he was asking about defensive coordinator.
08:27Do you have any...
08:27Keith Byers.
08:28Keith Byers.
08:29Do you have anybody in mind for a defensive coordinator?
08:31Or do you feel like Grable's got it covered?
08:32The name that I like, and I brought him up a million times.
08:35I don't think hiring should be all that confusing.
08:37Find a defense that you like.
08:39Find an offense that you like, a scheme, and draw from that.
08:41I really like, find a guy from McVay's tree.
08:44I like how Denver plays defense.
08:46Jim Leonard.
08:47You might remember playing for those Jets teams with Rex Ryan.
08:50Yeah.
08:50That went to back-to-back AFC title games.
08:52I think he was on both those teams.
08:53I think so.
08:54So I liked him as a player, or at least respected him as a player.
08:57He's the Broncos defensive backs coach.
09:00Yeah, they have Patrick Sertan there.
09:01You have Christian Gonzalez.
09:03I would go to somebody like that.
09:04But the name that caught my eye, and it feels more realistic,
09:07and not just spitballing names from defenses I like,
09:10is it Terrell Jennings?
09:11Is that his name?
09:11Yes.
09:12Yeah, Terrell Jennings.
09:13I believe it is.
09:14Or is that the running back they had late in the year this year?
09:16He was a running back that they had.
09:18They said Terrell Williams, maybe?
09:19The short list of names that Reece tweeted out earlier today.
09:22I'm like, this guy makes too much sense.
09:24Terrell Williams.
09:25I'm sorry.
09:25Terrell Williams.
09:26Not Terrell Davis.
09:27Not Terrell Jennings.
09:28Not Terrell Owens.
09:28Got it.
09:29Terrell Davis.
09:29He was with Rabel all three years.
09:31I'm sorry, all five of the years when he was in Tennessee.
09:34He was with the Lions last year.
09:35My guess is he'd be a heavy favorite for D coordinator
09:37now that Shane Bowen isn't getting released from the Giants.
09:40Do you think Robert Sala's got any chance or is he just
09:42going to go to the Niners?
09:42I think he's going to the Niners, but he would be a great
09:44hire. That's what I like.
09:45I mean, at least give him an interview or something.
09:47I think he's doing head coaching interviews, too, but you
09:50never know where he's going to head coach.
09:52You should.
09:52I mean, the Bengals defense last year was atrocious, but
09:54you should talk to Anna Romo.
09:55You should talk to Robert Sala.
09:56You should talk to who are some of the other defensive
10:00coaches who have lost their jobs.
10:02You brought up Eber Floos before.
10:03I would talk to Eber Floos.
10:04I'll bring the Floos.
10:05I mean, I would interview him.
10:06Why not?
10:06I'd give him a sniff.
10:07The guy was a good coordinator, bad head coach, so I would
10:09look at guys like that, but my guess is it's Terrell Williams
10:12who was with Vrabel in Tennessee.
10:15The Lions have had a great run defense this year.
10:16He was their defensive line coach.
10:18That's probably the guy.
