Astronauts head out on spacewalk for ISS upgrades
NASA astronauts Nick Hague and Suni Williams venture out on a spacewalk at the International Space Station (ISS) on Jan. 16, 2025 for upgrades at the site. They took in views of Earth as they undertook their work. The spacewalk is expected to go for about six hours. This is the first spacewalk by NASA astronauts since an aborted attempt last summer.

00:00And, Sonny, it looks like we lost your HECA again.
00:08If you could see if that powered off.
00:22Wonderful views from the helmet cam of NASA astronaut Nick Hague as they are translating
00:28the S-Zero truss on the International Space Station about the midway point, the backbone
00:32of the International Space Station, and you can see the curvature of the Earth below him.
00:38And there is the Quest airlock right in front of him as he moves to go and stow the replaced
00:45rate gyro assembly number two.
00:49As for NASA astronaut Sonny Williams, she is making her way to the space-facing side.
00:56Copy thermal cover closed and Nick, can you just confirm that you did leave your PGT in
01:24the airlock?
01:25I think we heard that clear.
01:44And if I'm saying November, November is correct.
