00:00You're all kind of on a circuit in a weird way. Many of my friends, personally, and many
00:05of my colleagues have lost so much. I want to slip into a 70mm screening somewhere. Not
00:11tonight, but somewhere soon.
00:13Hello, I'm Lucy.
00:14How do you do?
00:15You look fantastic today.
00:16Oh, thank you so much.
00:17What a day you've had. How do you get used to all these nominations?
00:22I'm very humbled and grateful for it. It's a complicated moment, so I don't feel that
00:32I can quite be in a celebratory state of mind. There's so much suffering and hardship in
00:40this world and within the filmmaking community. Many of my friends, personally, and many of
00:46my colleagues have lost so much. It's been a hard week, and so I am very grateful. I'm
00:58not feeling too celebratory, but I am very grateful, and I'm very happy that it's bringing
01:04some visibility to the film and all of Brady's hard work and Mona's and all the contributions
01:09that so many people gave to this. It's really special.
01:12You've been in about 79 films.
01:14Have I?
01:15I counted them all.
01:16A lot.
01:17Do you feel like all this hard work you've put in has led to this moment, the recognition
01:21you're getting? You really deserve this. Do you know that?
01:23Oh, thank you. Thanks for saying that. It's been a long road, and the beauty of being
01:31an actor is that all of your experiences, your peaks and valleys of your life and career
01:37all pay into an understanding of life and emotion. And all the roles that I've played
01:50have given me greater insight as I put myself in the shoes of others, and those characters
01:57inform other characters in a way. So yes, I agree with you. I think they've all paved
02:03the way, and I am very grateful. Primarily, I'm also very aware of how challenging it
02:13is to find work that is of great significance, and I really yearn for that, not just to entertain
02:22and be entertaining, but to find a way to do something meaningful in my work and leave
02:29behind. So I feel like this stands for that, not only for my own work, but for independent
02:35film.
02:36And when you see nominations come out, and you see people that you're up against, how
02:39does it work? Do you go and watch the films? I know Timothy's in town with his premiere
02:42last night. Do you talk to each other? How does it work?
02:45Well, you're all kind of on a circuit in a weird way, and I'm very supportive of everyone.
02:52They've done really tremendous work, and I love Coleman's work very much, and Rafe's,
02:56and all of them. They've done really great, great work, and I'm very happy that they're
03:03getting their flowers.
03:05Yeah, and you really deserve this. I really hope you enjoy it.
03:09Thank you so much. Congratulations. Thanks. And I love the break in the middle of the
03:12film. What else did you get that in?
03:14Yeah, it's quite an event. I think it's really very unique.
03:18Yeah, absolutely.
03:19I love this movie. I can't wait. I want to slip into a 70mm screening somewhere. Not
03:23tonight, but somewhere soon.
03:25Watch out. Thank you very much indeed.
03:27All right. Thanks.
