Celebrity artist, author and photographer join cruise ship to capture most memorable moments

00:00I've been to every continent apart from Antarctica.

00:07I was in Finland and I was filming and we were trying to capture the Northern Lights

00:13and we didn't, but on the way back all of a sudden they appeared and I was stood in

00:17the middle of a field at midnight looking at the best display of the Northern Lights

00:21ever.

00:22A load of wolves started howling, it was just incredible.

00:26Moments like that, they're great moments in travel I think.

00:29I don't want to get a likeness, I want to get a feeling of it.

00:32If you're painting anything, you're going to start studying it, you're going to look

00:36at it in a way that you wouldn't look at it ever before.

00:40I write because I don't know how not to write.

00:45A short piece of writing should be very personal to you if it's travel writing.

00:49You want to conjure back the smells and the heat and memories that are beyond your normal

00:58everyday life.

01:00On the ship I will be capturing comedy gold, I'll be eavesdropping like crazy.

01:08I'm looking to capture something that will evoke an emotion in the viewer, something

01:13that feels very real, real moments of connection or joy.

01:17It's almost like a sort of wildlife photography, you wait, wait and then you know when it's

01:21coming and you sort of capture it discreetly.

01:25It's not until you start travelling and experiencing other things that you go, wow, making memories

01:32like that is something that is very special to me, it's what life's all about.
