00:00Senate Bill 2897 or the Safe Spaces Act has been approved on third and final reading with 23 upper chamber lawmakers voting in favor of it.
00:09Senator Grace Poe says the measure will help prevent sexual harassment.
00:13Meanwhile, Senate Bill 2825 or the FIVOX Modernization Act has also passed the third and final reading.
00:20Senator Joel Villanueva underscored the importance of improving the capability of FIVOX,
00:25especially in terms of equipment and technology, to more effectively provide more information to the public.
00:32This is why, Mr. President, we vote yes to this measure which ensures that FIVOX is equipped with the equipment, technology and personnel needed for timely and accurate disaster data collection.
00:46Although we know that no amount of penalty may be sufficient to give justice to the victims,
00:51we hope that the increased penalties will actually deter more crimes of this nature to happen
00:57and that the penalties will be commensurate with the severity of the harm it inflicts on its victims.
