00:42So we're the Dove Valley Mummers and we're here to perform
00:44our Mummer's Play in Wassail today
00:46at Cannock Chase Museum.
00:48What's the synopsis of the play then, what's it all about?
00:50Oh my goodness, no spoilers really
00:52but we've got lots of fighting, we have a
00:54dragon, we have swords, we have death
00:56we have it all.
00:58It's important to keep
01:00these kind of traditional
01:02events alive isn't it really?
01:04Absolutely, particularly
01:06at this time of year when it's dark
01:08and it's cold and there's not much to look forward to
01:10it's great to observe these folk customs
01:12and keep them going.
01:14So we've got a few characters with you, we've got
01:16the Holly King.
01:18I step in as Holly King
01:20for the Christmas, you name it really.
