00:00Megan Thee Stallion has been granted a restraining order against Tory Lanez.
00:04A month after, Meg's lawyers filed a petition for a restraining order against Lanez
00:08due to what her lawyers warned that Lanez has continued to terrorize her
00:12with a campaign of harassment even as he sits behind bars.
00:16At Thursday's court hearing, Judge Richard Bloom granted Meg a civil restraining order
00:21that will bar Lanez from any harassing conduct for the next five years.
00:25This ruling comes after the Rocksteady rapper gave a tearful testimony via livestream
00:29telling the judge that she hasn't been at peace since I was shot and is just tired of being harassed.
00:35Meg continued,
00:36It just seems like I have to relive it every day. The person who shot me won't let me forget it.
00:41She later added,
00:42I'm scared that when he gets out of jail he's going to still be upset with me.
00:46And then she said,
00:47I feel like maybe he'll shoot me again and maybe this time I won't make it.
00:51Judge Bloom issued the order from the bench saying that Megan had shown a
00:55credible threat of violence. The order bars a wide range of conduct including
00:59any contact or harassment through any means.
01:01At Thursday's hearing, Lanez attorney Michael Hayden argued that his client
01:05was not threatening the petitioner in any way.
01:07Instead, he argued that Megan was simply upset about criticism from internet bloggers
01:12with their own independent minds who Lanez cannot control.
01:15We will continue to follow this case as it develops.
