Bathinda: Last night, a hooliganism of drug smugglers was witnessed in village Dan Singh Wala of district Bathinda. Eight houses in Bhai Jeevan Singh Basti of village Dan Singh Wala were set on fire by around 50 to 60 smugglers by throwing petrol bombs. Before setting fire, while committing hooliganism, these accused not only looted the houses, but also badly damaged the household goods kept in the houses. The goods were stolen. The villagers said that a few days ago, the youth of the village had stopped the drug smuggler from selling drugs. After which the mutual quarrel continued for four to five days. Now the drug smuggler brought 50 to 60 goons and attacked about eight houses in the settlement. After the attack, they set fire to the valuables of the house using petrol bombs and looted the goods kept in the houses. A petrol bomb was thrown and set on fire. After this incident, there is an atmosphere of fear among the villagers and many people have been forced to leave their homes. They say that after the night of terror they have witnessed, they do not feel safe, so they are going to a safe place with their families. The villagers say that drug dealers have openly committed hooliganism in the settlement, but the police administration has not taken any action in this matter. The district administration and the village panchayat have been repeatedly requested regarding this dispute that has been going on for the past several days, but they have not taken any kind of hearing, due to which such a big incident took place and people's houses were set on fire by throwing petrol bombs. Demand for strict action against the accused According to the locals, the houses of people who were trying to save the youth of the village from drugs have been attacked by drug smugglers. They have demanded justice from the police. The locals say that the looting and fire have caused so much destruction that only the clothes on the body are left in the houses of many people. Even the gas cylinders kept for cooking were stolen by the hooligans and cattle have also been taken away from many houses. The villagers have demanded justice and strict action is also being demanded against the accused. Resolution passed by the Panchayat After this incident, when the village Sarpanch Banta Singh was talked to, he said that this dispute had been going on for several days. The Panchayat tried to explain to both the parties, but one party attacked first, then the other party called a large number of people and attacked eight houses and set them on fire. There is an atmosphere of panic in the village regarding this incident and the Panchayat has now decided that strict legal action will be taken against the people involved in this incident and a resolution will be passed by the Panchayat as per the rules.
