00:00They are now consciously targeting and looking at who are those that apply and who are those that are admitted.
00:09We just finished a study of all the schools in Region 1, Region 8, and Region 12.
00:17We looked at the profile of those who took the exam and the profile of those who were admitted.
00:23So we want to see who are those that are able to get admitted.
00:28If we see that those in the margins, meaning the poorer households, graduates of public schools, children of cultural communities,
00:39pag nakikita natin na bumaba ba in percentage, the universities are starting to change their admission policies.
00:48So they make it more democratic. They consciously target that those from the margins will come in.
00:57So that's the equity dimension.
01:14The second element is, pag nakapasok na, what should the universities do to keep them in school?
01:22Kasi pwede na nakapasok tapos nag-drunk out naman. So we have to improve student services.
01:29Matami lang ginagawa yung mga schools niya. Yung University of Eastern Philippines,
And then our commissioner here, Commissioner Ranglupiz,
01:55was formerly president of Mariano Barbosa State University.
02:10So we need to improve student services, dormitory policies for example.
02:15We may need to have additional catch-up classes for our students to keep them in school.
02:40Thank you for watching!
