00:26All I've got in my bag here is a pocket knife
00:28and a handful of batteries.
00:32So this is all we've got for the next three days.
00:38Absolutely nothing in that bag.

00:46And in this bag,
00:50it's just full of batteries for the camera.
00:52That's pretty much all we've got.
00:54We've got eight batteries
00:56and a pocket knife.
00:58So that's all we've got for the next three days.
01:00So I'm just going to walk along this tide line,
01:02pick up as much stuff that will come in handy
01:04over the next three days.
01:06Old lighters, bits of string,
01:08whatever we can find, and then I'm going to start
01:10building a shelter, probably
01:12just up here where it's a little bit higher,
01:14just in case that tide comes up really high overnight.

01:20an odd pair of thongs.

01:26There's thongs absolutely washed up everywhere here.

02:56building our house for the next three days

03:00This is the outside of the big bad girl.

03:24I can easily sit there during the heat of the day.
03:26So I'm not building it in the shade there.

03:32So I thought if I bring it out
03:34off of that pandanus palm a little bit,
03:36I can have it here.
03:38At night there might be a bit of a breeze,
03:40keep the mosquitos off me.
03:42That's the idea anyway.
03:44I'm not going to elevate myself off the ground.
03:46I'm going to sleep on the sand.
03:48It's not cold.
03:50There's not snakes or bugs here, so
03:52I'm literally just going to sleep straight on the sand.
03:54Use my bag as a pillow.
03:56I'll keep working on this for a little bit and I'm going to go for a walk
03:58see if we can find something to drink or some water because
04:00I'm getting bloody thirsty now.
04:04We've also found this magic piece
04:06of bamboo washed up.
04:08We don't want the bamboo, but what we want is this blue string.

04:18of these onto the actual
04:20frame itself, so it's super strong.

04:58just finished the last tie downs on the
05:00shelter and it's looking pretty
05:02good. It is sturdy as sturdy can
05:04be. There is no wind going to move this no
05:06matter how windy it gets.
05:08Alright, so this is a chair. That tyre that
05:10I found up the coast there, that's a
05:12chair, so we're going to sit on there
05:14and inside our shelter
05:16it's looking pretty good.
05:18It's like,
05:20look how sturdy this is man. I am shaking
05:22the shit out of that and it's not moving
05:24so it's pretty good.
05:26There's a lot of room
05:28in here.
05:30That's where we'll be sleeping for the next couple
05:32of nights.

05:42but if it rains, that's a good thing because

07:04Like it's been off the tree for so long.

07:10for drinking there's not
07:12a lot in there. But I mean
07:14that's the first one we've found so
07:16far. That's how it got a little bit in it.
07:18The rest up there are dry and cracked
07:20and shit so. Alright so we've
07:22got another coconut down here. But what
07:24I'm noticing is obviously
07:26the tide line's really high up against
07:28here and there's a lot of good stuff that's
07:30wedged in the rocks. It's wedged in the little cracks.
07:32Like so many shoes.
07:34So many lighters. There's bottles I
07:36can use. There's fishing line. Not so much
07:38fishing line but like really thin rope.
07:40There's a lot of useful stuff
07:42here but I'm going to get this coconut out. There's a coconut
07:44down there.
08:05So there's another coconut.

08:09probably not even a mouthful of water in this one either
08:11but
08:13right now I'll take whatever I can find.

10:30stuff before and I didn't wear shoes and I cut
10:32my feet and by the last day
10:34I had infected, dirty
10:36like I was in the salt water
10:38coming out getting reef cuts and
10:40trust me you want to protect your feet when you're
10:42doing some sort of a mission like this.
10:44I could barely walk my way out of where I was so
10:46the first thing I
10:48always do is I try to find a pair of shoes.
10:50I've eaten half of this
10:52coconut on the walk back. That is
10:54absolutely bloody delicious.
10:56Also that's the first thing I've
10:58eaten all day so
11:00that's really good.

11:04as soon as I wake up and then tomorrow
11:06we really really have to find some water.

11:10like I can eat all of that and then
11:12this is obviously going to be the same so

11:18made. We've got small crabs on the rocks over
11:20there.
11:22I'm going to use my dry bag as a pillow

11:26am going to sleep.

12:00I had a very interesting sleep.
12:06Last night
12:08there were these winds that would just come in
12:10and it would just
12:12circulate sand around and I was just getting
12:14sand blasted.
12:16My ears are full of sand.
12:18Like I have sand
12:20everywhere.
12:22But apart from that I had a pretty good
12:24solid sleep. A few mosquitoes
12:26and there was one cow last night
12:28which came into our camp.
12:30Super strange. This big cow
12:32had it at like 2.30 in the morning
12:34poked its head in, had a look at what
12:36I was doing and then just kept
12:38walking up the beach. So strange.
12:40It scared the shit out of me.
12:42I'm going to dig into this coconut. Super thirsty.
12:44And we'll start our day.

13:02in the top there because I want to drink
13:04half of this coconut now
13:06and then we'll try to save some for later today
13:08just in case we don't find anything else to drink.

14:44box.

15:04We're right up the coast there before we head
15:06into the bush.

15:48my time. I'm going to take advantage of this
15:50sun. Take advantage of
15:52that plastic that we found. What I'm going to do
15:54what I'm going to try to do is make a
15:56solar still so
15:58I'm going to dig a hole here
16:00hopefully we can contain the moisture
16:02in the hole and
16:04that will generate some water for today.
16:24As soon as I started
16:26these clouds just started rolling over
16:28and for this to work we need direct sunlight.
16:30So hopefully I'm still
16:32going to make it so while we're out there hunting
16:34this can be gathering water.
16:36We're going to go get foliage from the trees and we
16:38fill this hole completely up with the
16:40green leaves. As that sun
16:42is beaming down on this during the day
16:44it's going to start to condensate, it's going to start to
16:46sweat. It rises, it
16:48hits the plastic, then it drips down
16:50to the rock and it's going to catch in a cup which is
16:52underneath that rock.
16:54But what is the most interesting thing?
16:56Check this out, already
16:58without any leaves in there
17:00that's condensation right there.
17:02So that there is
17:04already drinking. I could lick this thing
17:06and we could have a little bit of a
17:08wet mouth you know, but that's very
17:10interesting. Look at that, that's already condensation.
17:26Alright, so this is the section of the bottle.
17:30Chuck a clean rock
17:34in the bottom of the bottle
17:36and we're going to place him in there.
17:38And I'm not too sure
17:40exactly what this leaf is
17:42but you can see that a lot of bugs have been eating
17:44at this leaf so that gives me the indication
17:46that it's going to be a leaf.
17:48So we're going to put it in there
17:50and we're going to see what happens.
17:52But you can see that a lot of bugs have been

17:56that that's not toxic.
17:58So we've got that
18:00we've got our bottle
18:02and our rock inside. That'll just keep it
18:04stable. So now we'll flick
18:06our plastic over and we'll let
18:08that thing start sweating up.
18:10Alright, so we've
18:22pretty much come to a point where I'm happy
18:24to leave it now. So
18:26that is a thong here, a thong
18:28over there. Tell you what, these bloody thongs
18:30they come in handy just because
18:32the plastic wasn't big enough. So that's
18:34made a seal, that thong made a seal.
18:36So that's completely airtight now.
18:38that is all right now getting hot sweaty juicy you can see that it's actually working already
18:47so that stone now that's the lowest point the water should run across to that stone
18:51and then drip into our cup while we're away looking for water in the bush that thing there
18:56is just gonna slowly drip drip so this whole shrub here is edible it's called goat's foot or
19:04what's the other name for it morning glory so these flowers here
19:12that's actually an edible flower i can eat as many as these as i want
19:18and we're going to be all good so i'm going to collect a couple of these flowers
19:22we'll eat these flowers you can also eat these leaves if you boil these leaves in water
19:29they're edible and so is the root from this plant so it's good to know this is here we can come back
19:34maybe boil up the roots boil up the leaves definitely there's a food source there plenty
19:39and plenty of pandanus palm here so we can get the seeds out of the pandanus palm fruit
19:44we'll eat that later maybe but um water is still looking pretty scarce my senses are so alive right
19:52now if i see a lizard anything i'm catching it we're going to cook it on the fire and this is
20:00actually pretty interesting this stuff here i don't know if you guys can see this sap here super
20:05sticky look at this that would be really handy around the camp so this tree's a little bit of a
20:12walk away but not too far but this you could this will eventually dry rock hard like this is here
20:19so you can patch water bottles you can do a lot of stuff with that it's flammable
20:23really good stuff right now it's in a perfect stage of patching anything
20:31really good this palm tree has been absolutely hammered by people or i don't know it doesn't
20:38look well but there is an old coconut there and there's a broken one over there
20:45this one doesn't look very good this is really old
21:02ah this is getting this is actually starting to become really hard to get
21:08anything to drink so i just opened up that coconut and just like i thought inside it's
21:13rotten it stinks there's water in there but
21:19so this is what it looks like there's liquid in there but if you can see this it's all black
21:24it stinks man it smells like i don't know it smells like vinegar slash some sort of an alcohol
21:31i'm not going to drink that that's probably going to make me sick you can see here that
21:34it's all rotting away all this is just wet and it's rotting there's bugs in it
21:43ah so there's a lot of animal tracks here that i've been following for probably 45 minutes now
21:52hopefully it'll lead me to water but they sort of just they're sort of just going in circles
21:59that's obviously a big cow shit there so these cows have to be drinking something
22:05i'm just going to find where they're going
22:07okay so we've come back to camp i've still got a mouthful in that coconut there
22:15that's going to be like heaven but what i'm really excited about is this
22:21i don't know if you guys can see with this like this glare right now but look at this water
22:27it's running this one here is running there's one running
22:31flat out there is water dripping into that bottle this is crazy
22:37oh that makes me feel a lot better we're slowly trapping fresh water and in here
22:45still got our coconut there's a mouthful of water in here so
22:49i'm just going to hang in the shade for a bit drink this
23:07so that right there is the last water i have that is it
23:14it's going to taste bloody good i haven't drank any water since
23:17this morning when i woke up so that's definitely going to get me through
23:22i have a lot of hope now that i know that the solar still is working i don't think we're going
23:27to get much water out of it but it'll be enough to survive another day another night this is
23:31going to taste bloody beautiful
23:41so i have done a massive walk it is barren around here like this is just
23:48super hot super dry black dirt there's no water inside like this
23:54i walked up along the cliffs seeing if there's water coming down the cliffs nothing so we're
23:58just going to keep walking and uh yeah that's all we can do right now giving up is not an option
24:07i am absolutely melting out here so i just got back from
24:13a hell of a walk we've got a couple of things that are going to help us out
24:17so originally i was going to make a bodru what i want to do i want to start a fire
24:22and we'll go try to catch a couple of crabs because i am beyond hungry like i'm starving
24:27right now so i was going to use this and then i found this to make the bow drill then we upgraded
24:34to this perfect stick for a bow drill it's like made for it right so that was the plan to make
24:39a bow drill but then i found this and this has got me frothing we found a glass bottle the good thing
24:51about this bottle is it is so clean like this thing is this thing's primo this is how i'm going
24:57to start a fire doing this with a bow drill isn't a lot of effort but starting a fire with a bottle
25:02like this is going to be so much easier so we've got our bottle and we found this coconut husk
25:12really dry coconut husk what else do we get and the fishing lures obviously i'm not going to be
25:19able to use these because the swell's crazy and these hooks are rusty as hell but
25:25it's going to be a good addition to our little home

26:02this is the bottle we found all we're going to do is use this round corner of the bottle here
26:08use it as a magnifying glass find the point where it's at its sharpest and we'll just hold it there
26:13for as long as possible usually it takes about two to three minutes in this hot weather like
26:18we've got now to start this to start this smoking and once it smokes we'll transfer
26:23it to this coconut and then we'll transfer it to the fire that i've already got prepped
26:48so

29:52good way easy way and effortless way to start a fire but it needs to be hot and your tinder needs
29:57to be dry if you guys like that kind of thing i'll leave a link at the end of this video to
30:02another video i made where i go in depth on how to start fire with bottles like this bottles of
30:07water plastic bags batteries all that stuff so i'll leave that link at the end of the video
30:13but for now i'm gonna get this thing to a big roaring fire we'll leave it we'll go try to find
30:18something to eat so we've actually got an arrangement of foods like i'm pretty lucky
30:24i've got choices what i want to eat up here all on that ridge there is cactus along there's cactus
30:31unfortunately that cactus isn't flowering now so it doesn't have that beautiful fruit but what we
30:36can do we can actually eat the leaf on the cactus or we can come and frolic on these rocks and these
30:42snails are actually really nice to eat and there's no shortage of them there are snails everywhere

32:39the young fresh ones because i'm up on a rock here and this is just all really old stuff but
32:46she'll still go all right we'll go take all the prickles off put her on the fire

32:58we've got our firewood here a little bit of dinner cactus we've got a deck chair a house
33:04our fire and our water container or our water catcher and i can actually open it now because
33:10the sun's gone so look how much water's stuck on this plastic we'll get it all draining down

33:35this we have a little bit of water in the bottom of that there i am so happy with that that'll save

34:11tiny little can here i can only cook 10 snails at a time because i found a little can down there
34:17that's good enough i'm going to burn these spikes off this cactus with the flames of the fire
34:22we'll just rest him there now here's that beautiful crab we got so i'm just going to
34:27drop him on the coals i put him to sleep as soon as i caught him so we'll just drop him there
34:34this is my first proper meal in two days
34:38yesterday all i ate was that coconut inside of that coconut and today
34:42i've been chewing on their second coconut so this is going to taste good
34:49i reckon that these snails are just about done
35:02i've just gone down to the ocean there got some salt water
35:05everything tastes better when it's cooked in salt water

39:50not such a problem i know that i can make water here as long as there's sun and it's a nice blue
39:56sky day today there's a bit of cloud over the back but so i'm starting to get a little bit of
40:01a rhythm going i'm going to set this up again we're only getting like probably even less than
40:07a cupful of water out of that solar still but that's enough to keep me just that little bit
40:12you know to keep me hydrated well it's not hydrated but keep me going so i'm gonna punch up the coast

40:46up on the beach this morning it's um a lot of it's funny how there's lots of different shoes
40:52there's a lot of different things there's a ball wilson's sister but yeah there's not
40:56not really a lot we can use so in true survival form i've just done a piss into a bottle and um
41:04things come down to it i'll have to drink my own piss so this is it here
41:09look at the color of that man oh it's so rank that is dehydration times 10 right there
41:16that is like mud i'm just gonna i'm just gonna leave it there we'll keep walking but
41:22it's literally like brown i think i'd have to be seriously dying to drink that
41:28we'll keep walking and we'll see what else we can find hopefully there's something
41:32please that was really really bloody lucky look at this that's a broken bottle
41:41it's still super sharp look at that it's like razor sharp and that's my footprint right there
41:47if i stood on that i would be in some serious serious serious problems wow that's something
41:56i haven't really thought of that is a very very friendly reminder to me to just to wear shoes
42:03as much as possible when you're doing this kind of thing like right now i'm not wearing shoes because
42:07i was like i'm just going to go walk along the coast but i was this close to standing on that
42:11bit of glass and if i stood on that glass i would hate to see the outcome but on a positive note
42:18look at these beautiful shells man these shells are everywhere
42:23epic there you go i've got to remember to wear my shoes that could have ended real bad
42:31so we've been walking through this jungle now for quite a while i'm gonna go
42:35really really deep inland today just trying to find ideally i'm just really really looking for
42:42a coconut just to wet my mouth like that's what it's easy it's simple but at the same time i'm
42:46following animal tracks i'm just gonna keep walking we're gonna keep punching it's now 11 56 so
42:55halfway through the third day here and there's no water still so food isn't a problem at all
43:02that's easy to get water that's the problem you have got to be joking oi this is no joke
43:11there's a chicken man there is a chicken in here somewhere
43:18oh my god imagine if we caught a chicken where is it

43:50they're the most aggressive little creatures i don't like monkeys man but what i've done
43:58we've come to the base of this big cliff this is a big cliff that's that big cliff that runs
44:04all the way along the coast hoping that there'd be like water running down or water getting pushed
44:08out of the face of the cliff but dude this is like really dry everything is just super dry
44:14so now it's it's now two o'clock so this isn't good man i'm gonna head back to camp and we'll um
44:23we'll go from there
44:29all right we've come back home unfortunately today it's super cloudy
44:34so that isn't really going to be working today we've got
44:40this much water left oh my god i'm gonna smash that water
44:53so
45:05that is literally all the water we've got gone i have no more water
45:17we're done we're finished
45:18i reckon if i was stuck here for like a month or two months i reckon you'd survive
45:25there's plenty of food like food isn't an issue water's the problem but
45:29every single day you just walk further and further and further like i'm walking maybe
45:34a kilometer and a half that way and sort of this way from this camp so what i'll do i'll just keep
45:40traveling and keep walking and keep walking because obviously there's animals here and
45:45there is people living somewhere around here so there's going to be a water source
45:48somewhere you've just got to find it and that's the hard part so that little
45:52cup of water that we can generate each day is probably just enough to keep you pushing pushing
45:56to find i don't know to find the water source or before you go absolutely insane and one of the two
46:15all right i've just packed up the solar still we've done a little bit of a cleanup i'm going
46:18to take as much rubbish as i can out in my bag and i'm just going to hoof it it's a long walk
46:24back to where i started three days ago so i'm going to start walking and i'm just going to
46:28look for coconuts i'm going to walk in the jungle there so we'll do a little bit of a
46:32walk around we'll do one more cleanup and start hunting for coconuts in the bush
46:38one last look at our magical little camp before we go into the deep jungle
46:43she's been good she definitely did her job i'm going to leave these fishing
46:49lures for the next guy or for the next person whoever's stuck here
46:54thank you you've been amazing but now we're going deep into the jungle
47:00we're going to find ourselves some coconuts before i seriously pass out
