The Liberal Democrat MP for Epsom says she is "concerned" that Sir Keir Starmer "didn't announce increase investment in GPs or anything in the social healthcare crisis". Her comments come after the prime minister gave a speech setting out his plans to reduce NHS waiting times. Helen Maguire adds, "they need to be ready for action". Report by Brooksl. 00:00Waiting lists, you know, are really high and my constituents desperately need to be able to see
00:04the consultants much quicker. But I think one of my main concerns here is that what the Prime
00:08Minister didn't announce was increased investment in GPs or anything in the social health care
00:13crisis. And what we have here is we've got over 14,000 patients that are waiting over 12 hours
00:19in accident and emergency. And here is one of the locations that the previous Conservative
00:23government had promised investment in a new hospital. We desperately need a new hospital
00:27here and we didn't hear any announcements about that at the moment. The social health care crisis
00:31is something that's bedblocking at the moment. We need to get people out of the other end.
00:35That's not happening. At the moment we have this review that's been announced but it's going to
00:38take years. You know, they need to be ready for action. The Liberal Democrats had a manifesto that
00:43included a solution for the social health care crisis and we're not hearing anything from the
00:47Labour government about that.
