00:00We visited Darcy's Fish and Chip restaurant in Little Over Derby, based on Manor Road.
00:09I love the nautical theme of the blue and white tiles, it's a really vibrant eatery.
00:18The floor to ceiling windows let in a whole bunch of daylight.
00:23We dined there at about mid-day. It's a lovely space, really well kitted out.
00:34Just so you can hear the bustling nature of the eatery, I ordered a classic small portion
00:41of fish and chips with a curry sauce. Dining partner had a steak and eel pie, again
00:46with chips, gravy and mushy peas.
00:52Reflecting on the dining experience at Darcy's Chip restaurant, I had a great time.
01:00The food was nice, but I think the key stand out factor for me was the customer service.
01:11Just going back to the food, the chips were nice, the fish was nice too.
01:16I would have liked to see the fish have a crispier underside, maybe just a little bit
01:23more hotter too. But overall, it was a nice meal.
01:29I think I was expecting it to be a little bit more, because there's been a big splash
01:34online from the restaurant. So it's a nice place to be, and the food is cool too.
01:42But I think it's the quality of staff and the way they greet you, the way they listen
01:47to you. It's always a service with a smile. In particular, Danny, who I think is the assistant
01:54manager. He's a lovely, lovely person, really knowledgeable.
02:01But yes, I think I will go there again, and I will be exploring more of the menu.
02:08The menu itself, it's cool. So you've got appetisers such as honey cheese croquettes,
02:15you've got the dusted baby calamari, that sounds quite nice. But they also do pies,
02:21burgers, seafood, and salad. I chose, on the day of dining, the Darcy's Fish and Chips
02:30traditional package. So that was a small haddock that came with chips, a wedge of lemon, and
02:40the sauces are free. So tartar sauce was free, ketchup was free as well. But you did, we
02:45did have to pay £1.89, I think it was, for the curry sauce, and £1.89 also for the mushy
02:54peas. Overall, I do like Darcy's. I think it's a lovely space to be in, and yes, I recommend
03:03you go there.
