Datuk Seri Najib Razak has succeeded in obtaining leave from the Court of Appeal in a split 2-1 decision in his appeal relating to his claims of a royal addendum order that would allow him a house arrest.
In the majority decision, the appellate court overturned the High Court's dismissal of Najib's application for leave to initiate judicial review over the prison time imposed on him in the SRC International Sdn Bhd trial.

00:48Earlier, Najib's family said they are grateful to the Sultan of Pahang for issuing a letter
00:53of confirmation regarding the existence of the Royal Addendum to allow the former UMNO
00:59President to serve the remainder of his prison sentence at home.

01:27The letter, which was signed by Comptroller of the Pahang Sultan's household, Datuk Ahmad
01:33Kherizal Abdul Rahman, confirmed the existence of a Royal Addendum to Najib Royal Pardon.
01:39The letter said the order was made by the 16th Yang di-Pertuan Agong,
01:44Al-Sultan Abdullah Riayatuddin al-Mustafa bin Lahsyah,
01:48for Najib to serve out the remainder of his jail term under house arrest.
