00:00Welcome to WatchMojo, and today, we're counting down the most hilarious bits from every Wallace
00:05and Gromit film.
00:0610.
00:07Large Lady Rabbit Wallace and Gromit, The Curse of the Were-Rabbit
00:16First on the list, it's the time the duo tried luring out the were-rabbit.
00:24They plan to strap a wacky puppet on top of their van, resembling a lady rabbit, controlled
00:30by Gromit in the back.
00:42Things go south when Wallace becomes distracted by Gromit's flirtatious dancing, and the
00:48prop smashed into a bridge, flinging Gromit into the ceiling.
00:56It's a cracking moment, highlighting just how ridiculous Wallace's stunts can be,
01:01and Gromit's unwavering loyalty.
01:03Unfortunately, the escapade wasn't successful, since Wallace was the were-rabbit all along.
01:119.
01:14Disrupting the Bomb Wallace and Gromit, A Matter of Loaf and Death
01:23To quote the Caped Crusader, some days, you just can't get rid of a bomb.
01:28That line comes from an iconic Batman scene from 1966, which has since been parodied by
01:33many, including Wallace and Gromit.
01:41Loaf and Death's antagonist, and Wallace's love interest, hide a bomb in his birthday
01:46cake, which Gromit hilariously struggles to dispose of.
01:50The task is made difficult by ducks and nuns carrying kittens.
01:59It manages to end up stumbling into Wallace's trousers, but his life is heroically saved
02:04by Gromit filling his garments with dough.
02:13This whole scene makes you wonder, how did Wallace ever survive before finding his canine
02:18companion?
02:198.
02:20The Bunvac 6000 Wallace and Gromit, The Curse of the Were-Rabbit
02:29The Bunvac is one of the duo's many amusing contraptions, designed to help prevent rabbit
02:34infestations, by simply hoovering them all up.
02:38It's a wildly absurd contraption that can suck rabbits up from all over a massive field.
02:47It's so powerful, it ends up sucking Victor Quartermain's toupee, and then sucks him up
02:52entirely.
02:59The sight of all those bunnies floating around in its tank is hilarious, and is a testament
03:04to Aardman's animation skills.
03:06This was the pair's first feature-length film, and it's scenes like this which reveal
03:11how little the studio held back.
03:177.
03:19Shaving Shaun A close shave, Shaun the Sheep immediately
03:27became adored globally, and was so admired, Aardman gave him a TV show in 2007.
03:34He met the duo by wandering into their home, and tearing the place to shreds.
03:39Coincidentally, the pair have a knit-o-matic machine conveniently left in their basement.
03:44This scene is a superb display of animation.
03:54The bubbles seem simple, but they're a challenge to do with stop motion.
03:58Absurd contraptions like these are what make the series what it is, and it's impressive
04:02how Aardman manages to keep coming up with them.
04:09It gets funnier when you wonder why they built this machine, and question how many sheep
04:14they've jammed in it.
04:186.
04:19Nick on the Moon – A Grand Day Out The pair's first film took seven years of
04:30hard labour to craft, and was done almost entirely by one man – Nick Park.
04:35The massive amount of love and care put into its creation is clear throughout the film.
04:40The picnic scene perfectly highlights this.
04:48The two decide to chow down on some moon cheese and crackers, which is highly surreal.
04:54The film was interestingly intended to be 40 minutes long, with extra scenes such as
04:59a Lunar McDonald's and a prison escape scene.
05:10Park's co-worker told him it would take another nine years to get all that animated, so he
05:15cut it all out.
05:16It would have been interesting to see, but might not have had the same charm.
05:215.
05:22Bread Deliveries – Wallace and Gromit – A Matter of Loaf and Death
05:30Their fourth short film begins with an action-packed delivery scene.
05:34With the two now running a semi-successful bakery, the way they comically fire bread
05:39into letterboxes is priceless, with the funniest moment being Wallace amusingly hitting an
05:45old woman with a loaf.
05:54His love interest, and later antagonist, is introduced here.
05:57The brakes on the bike she's riding give way, and the pair save the day, with their
06:02wholemeal loaves literally coming in clutch.
06:13This doesn't save them from a crocodile pit, however.
06:16Gromit's intuition is responsible for that.
06:25Hardman Studios are truly masters of visual comedy, as proven by this scene's remarkable
06:31gags.
06:324.
06:33Building the Rocket – A Grand Day Out
06:43This is another scene from their debut.
06:45The rocket which flew them to the moon is the first contraption we see them build.
06:49It's told via a masterfully assembled montage, with Gromit doing the bulk of the work as
06:55is standard.
06:56They approach the task like it's a mundane piece of DIY, cobbling together a rocket ship
07:01in their basement.
07:06It blends visual comedy, absurdity, and the pair's charm, showcasing everything people
07:11adore about the series.
07:13Sadly, most of the film's props were destroyed in a warehouse fire in 2005.
07:18Thankfully, the rocket was being stored at Park's home, and it's one of the very few
07:23surviving props.
07:283.
07:33The Diamond Heist – The Wrong Trousers
07:39This second-ever film is many fans' favourite, featuring an evil penguin and their dastardly
07:45plot to heist a diamond.
07:47The heist scene is one for the ages, with Wallace being piloted around by a penguin
07:52controlling his trousers.
07:56It's so well-crafted, with Wallace dangling from the ceiling by his trousers – a remarkable
08:04feat of animation.
08:11The budget was also only £650,000, which is relatively small.
08:16It's inspiring how much they achieved, and their efforts even won them their first Oscar.
08:262.
08:28Shaving the Sheep – A Close Shave
08:36This film's climax is one of their most intense moments.
08:39It's a high-speed chase jam-packed with gags.
08:43One of the most memorable is when Gromit uses a ladder to swing their bike over some power
08:48lines.
08:49It's completely ridiculous, which is what makes it so entertaining.
08:58It was one of the most complex scenes they've ever shot, and maintaining the sheep's fluffiness
09:03was a challenge.
09:08They won their second Oscar for the film, which brought so much attention, they were
09:12able to produce their first feature-length film.
09:383.
09:39Poi Train Chase – The Wrong Trousers
09:45No other scene could take the top spot.
09:47It's arguably the greatest chase scene of all time.
09:51Some also consider it the best display of stop-motion animation, which is difficult
09:56to refute.
10:03The funniest moment might be when Gromit scrambles to put the train tracks down in
10:07front of the train, with Wallace in tow.
10:10Despite being confined to a tiny train track, it feels epic.
10:14Its final crescendo is Feathers McGraw being trapped by Gromit in a glass bottle – a
10:20side-splitting moment.
10:25That was the end of McGraw's reign of terror – at least until 2024, when he returned
10:30for Vengeance Most Foul.
