00:00Ryan Day, who I hate, talking about the adversity that he has had with the fan base in Columbus before the game.
00:09You know, in this game, there are ups and downs along the way.
00:13When things are going good, you've got to hug the guys you love the most.
00:18And when things aren't, you've got to hug them even harder.
00:20And you just hang in there and you keep swinging.
00:23I talked to these guys about it a couple of weeks ago.
00:26That's life.
00:27And this team is resilient.
00:29And when you surround yourself with great people, with great character, you find yourself working through difficult times.
00:36And at the end of the day, we wanted to win a national championship.
00:40And the way that we got here wasn't what we expected.
00:42It wasn't what we planned for.
00:44But nonetheless, we had an opportunity to come back and play Oregon after we had already played them early in the season.
00:50And that's the only thing that mattered.
00:52And the guys have been doing a great job of staying focused.
00:55The staff has stuck together, but the players have stuck together.
00:58And they're fighting to continue to stay together because, you know, the winner gets to play together another week, the loser doesn't.
01:04So, you know, those guys have worked hard to stay together.
01:08And now we've got an opportunity to go play Texas and a lot of football ahead of us.
01:13Honestly, a couple things here.
01:14First of all, the word resilience is the most overused word in sports.
01:18This team is so resilient.
01:20Is that like Bob Knight's game face?
01:23Yeah.
01:25We're resilient, you know.
01:26We're so resilient.
01:27Now here's the other thing.
01:29Fans, for the most part, and, you know, I'm a fan too.
01:36I go to games.
01:37And we're really all a bunch of idiots.
01:40Fans are drunk idiots.
01:42And the fact that they lost to Michigan, and you want them fired because they lost to them four times in a row.
01:49What about the, you know, seven or eight times they beat Michigan in a row?
01:52Was that not good enough for you?
01:53It never is.
01:54And the second thing is no one listens to fans.
01:59These, you know, franchises in the NFL, they don't listen to you.
02:03They just want your season ticket money and you to buy things in their pro shop.
02:08And they don't want to listen to you.
02:10And they never make decisions based on what you think.
02:12And I think it goes the same way in college.
02:15They can boo all they want and hate Ryan Day all they want.
02:17I talked to an Ohio State fan today.
02:19My buddy is an Ohio State fan, and I hate him, unequivocally hate him.
02:24And I have Eagles fans, friends, and I hate them too, I just wanted to say.
02:28Even more than the Ohio State fans.
02:31And I talked to this guy, and he said to me, yeah, but we lost to Michigan.
02:38And I said, listen, bro, do you want a national championship or do you want to beat Michigan?
02:43He goes, I guess the national championship.
02:46This is what the guy said to me.
02:48I was like, what, like you would have thought someone stole his dog and his wife.
02:53And the guy lived next door that was sleeping with her.
02:56And, you know, the guy was like, I guess the national championship will do.
03:01Like, are you kidding me, Joe?
03:03Honestly, these fans, a bunch of morons.
03:06Those same fans, Scotty, want to give him an extension today.
03:10They want him to be the coach for the next 120 years.
03:13After they wanted him fired and buried under the stadium when the season was over.
03:18And the thing I thought he said was very interesting with all the cliches and resilience,
03:23the thing that I'm worried about with Ohio State, Scotty,
03:26is that their entire focus for the second half of this season has been to get even with Oregon.
03:34Well, now you just got even with Oregon.
03:36You have no history with Texas.
03:39So are you going to get the same effort?
03:42Are they going to deliver the same kind of game against the team they have no ill will with?
03:47So to me, everything they did was about getting back at Oregon after they lost to Oregon.
03:54I'm worried about the letdown, Scotty.
03:56Do you think that when I watch them, they look pro to me?
04:00They look like a pro football team.
04:02Oh, yeah.
04:03I don't see how they can lose.
04:04They look focused.
04:05Honestly.
04:06Focused.
