00:00PhilHealth's benefits have been expanded this year.

00:05Meanwhile, the agency assured that the state insurer's funds are sufficient.

00:10Angela Peñalosa of Radyo Pilipinas has the details of the country's news.

00:17Previously, you need to be confined to get benefits from PhilHealth.

00:23Now, you are also covered with benefits when you are brought to the emergency room of hospitals.

00:29These are the expanded healthcare packages of PhilHealth since 2025

00:35in accordance with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s order

00:39to provide good health services to Filipinos.

00:43Those who are brought to the emergency room are not confined.

00:47We did not cover that before.

00:49But starting January 1, we will cover this.

00:54This is what we call the Emergency Benefit Package.

00:57Emergency Care Benefit Package.

00:59Those who are brought to the ER will also receive benefits.

01:04They will not be confined.

01:06After several hours, they will go home or the doctor will take them home.

01:10Aside from the additional 50 percent increase in almost 9,000 case rates of PhilHealth,

01:16a new package for kidney transplantation will also start.

01:22PhilHealth will increase the package from Php 800,000 to Php 2 million.

01:27Previously, it was around Php 600,000.

01:29Now, it will reach Php 800,000 to Php 2 million.

01:34The donor is also included.

01:37The deceased donors are not the only living donors.

01:40Along with the new benefits of kidney transplant,

01:44we will also cover post-kidney transplant medications.

01:51Those are anti-rejection medicines that are taken lifelong after transplant.

01:58PhilHealth will also release new benefits for outpatient rehabilitation.

02:03These include mobility devices such as wheelchairs, walkers, and canes.

02:09The state insurer has already covered 15 laboratories and 21 medications under the outpatient benefit package.

02:18In the end, PhilHealth will make their fund sufficient for their expanded services for Filipinos.
