The KLCC LRT station was temporarily closed due to an electrical fire on Thursday (Jan 2).

Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department operations commander Mohamed Azimin Mohamed Zahid said the cause of the fire is still under investigation and no one was hurt during the incident.

00:06In a statement, Rapid Rail Sendirian Berhad said the station was closed following initial
00:11reports of smoke being detected in the electronic equipment room inside the station.

00:20Mohammed Azimin said a distress call was received at 4.15 pm.
00:26Seven firemen were deployed to the scene and discovered an electrical panel caught fire.
00:31However, the fire was immediately put out by the KLCC Emergency Response Team.
00:37The cause of the fire is still under investigation and nobody was injured during the incident.
00:42In a recent Facebook post, Rapid Rail said the KLCC station
00:47has now reopened and ready to operate as usual.
