00:14Vicky, a few hours before the New Year celebration,

00:17the number of tourists on the beachfront of Boracay is increasing.

00:21Most of them are already looking for the perfect spot

00:25for the year-end party

00:27and, of course, to enjoy the engranding fireworks display later.

00:35Aside from crystal clear water and world-class sunset,

00:39Boracay Island is also famous as a New Year's Eve destination.

00:43Even though there are occasions that are dark,

00:45tourists still come here to enjoy the New Year.

00:49Jonathan considers the New Year celebration in Boracay as something new.

00:53For it to be different from the city,

00:55at least we're on the beach and there are fireworks along the beach.

01:00It's also the first time for Tyra and Imre to celebrate New Year on Boracay Island.

01:05I chose it because of the beach.

01:06It looks so nice and the fireworks and it's a pretty good hostel here.

01:11We're going to go back to the hotel just to get some rest

01:14and we're going to come back here to celebrate with everyone.

01:1611 establishments and hotels will be the first to engrand the fireworks display

01:21later on the New Year's Eve countdown in the beachfront area.

01:24According to the LGU, the activity is better and leveled up this year.

01:29It's a family getaway if Michelle's family will continue their trip to Boracay,

01:34especially if the kids love to visit the island.

01:37Everything we need is here now.

01:39So food, like hotels and activities for kids and adults as well.

01:45Establishments are allowing New Year's Eve parties,

01:49but they are now restricting those who cross their area and extend to the beachfront area.

01:55The LGU expects 10,000 to 11,000 tourists to arrive today,

01:59more than 8,000 to 10,000 the previous days.

02:04Security measures are also being implemented on the beaches.

02:08We have our own lanes for the visitors

02:13so that we can have a more efficient flow of visitors

02:17so that they won't get confused.

02:19In terms of security, we have composite teams here

02:24composed of the PNP, PCG, Maritime, and the Philippine Army

02:27in case our visitors need assistance.

02:34Vicky, earlier this afternoon at 5 p.m., a send-off ceremony was held

02:39by law enforcement agencies, responders, and volunteers

02:42for their own spots or areas here on Boracay Island.

02:49Later at 9 p.m. to 12.30 p.m. tomorrow morning,

02:53the Inter-Agency Task Force was alerted here on Boracay Island.
