00:00For the well-being of Filipinos, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. approved the 2025 National Budget.
00:09This is what the economic managers of the President, Joshua Garcia of PTV, said in a statement.
00:19At the same time, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. approved more than 6 trillion Pesos National Budget for the next year.
00:26This is worth more than P134 billion Pesos.
00:30This is considered as an online item because it is not part of the priorities of the government.
00:36The Department of Budget and Management also approved it.
00:40In his press briefing, the DBM said that the education sector remains a top priority,
00:46followed by infrastructure and others.
00:56This is P134 trillion Pesos. Education is a top priority.
01:03DPWH Secretary Manuel Bonoana explained that they are considering other projects that do not support the socio-economic agenda of the current administration and still need to be studied.
01:15There are many local projects that are not ready for implementation and it will take us some time anyway to make sure that we can implement it immediately.
01:26So these are the things that we have seen. I think we can postpone it for the time being.
01:31According to the DBM, projects such as assistance to the Kaposangkita Program or ACAP will remain.
01:37But before the funds are issued, the DSWD, DOLE and NEDA will need to conduct monitoring for the continued implementation of these projects.
01:47Meanwhile, in the so-called assistance, Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamina also promised that the budget for 2025 is in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution.
01:57I want to tell all of you that there will be no such opportunity that the budget is unconstitutional.
02:06This is the interplay between the Congress and the Executive Branch.
02:13To ensure that the legal monitoring will be strictly followed, 12 special provisions have been included in the Conditional Implementation,
02:21including some important programs of the DSWD, such as ACAP and PAYAPAT Masaganang Pamayanan or Pamanang Program.
02:28Meanwhile, the economic team of the government is doing well in 2025.
02:32According to the NEDA, the 2025 National Budget will focus on building the lives of Filipinos,
02:37where the sector of agriculture, renewable energy and digitalization in the country will also be strengthened.
02:43Our fourth quarter was also good.
02:47We are confident that we will hit our growth target.
02:53Our growth target is between 6 to 7 percent.
02:57So far, from quarter 1 to quarter 3, our growth rate is at 5.8 percent.
03:05We think that we will hit that target.
03:11According to the Finance Department, it is also ensuring that every cent added to the budget for 2025 will go to the right programs and projects for the country.
03:21From PTV Manila, Joshua Garcia for Balitang Pagbansa.
