00:00All hospitals around the country are now on a code-white alert as they prepare for the New Year's greetings.

00:07But just now, the number of people who were injured due to the fire is increasing.

00:12Alan Francisco of PTV Manila has the details of the national news.

00:19More than 100 firecracker-related injuries were reported by the Department of Health just a few days before the New Year's greetings.

00:28In the program Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon, DOH Spokesperson Assistant Secretary Albert Domingo said that the highest number of firecrackers or victims of firecrackers is from Metro Manila.

00:41Next is Central Luzon Region 3, followed by Cagayan Valley Region 2, top 3. Top 4 is our Western Visayas Region 6.

00:51And then top 5, two regions are tied on, our Ilocos Region 1 and our Central Visayas.

00:59Six out of ten, about 64% are said to be actively involved.

01:04Illegal firecrackers are the main cause of this, including BOGA, Five Star, and Piccolo, as well as legal firecrackers.

01:13Most of the firecrackers are the ones who are actively involved, while others are just involved.

01:21According to Assistant Secretary Domingo, five to fourteen-year-old children are often the victims of firecrackers.

01:31Mom, Dad, Grandpa, Grandma, Brother and Sister, please watch out for firecrackers.
