00:00The Food Security is leading in the 8-point agenda of the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
00:06That's why the administration strengthened the programs and initiatives for agriculture
00:13to reach the target that no Filipino will be hungry.
00:17Noel Talacay has the details.
00:19This year, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. strengthened the production of agricultural products
00:34despite the various challenges that the agricultural sector is facing in the country.
00:40That's why some programs and initiatives were implemented.
00:45That's why the administration strengthened the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund.
00:52House Bill No. 10381, it shall be known as Republic Act No. 12078 entitled
00:59An Act Amending Republic Act No. 8178 or the Agricultural Tarification Act as amended by Republic Act No. 11203.
01:09Before the end of this year, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. passed the amended law
01:16called Republic Act No. 12078 or the Agricultural Tarification Act
01:22which was extended for 6 years by the RCEF.
01:26It is a fund to help farmers to improve their production
01:32and to be more competitive despite the challenges in globalization and agriculture.
01:39President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. also gave that the reduction in the post-harvest loss of rice
01:47can be benefited by almost 3.4 million Filipinos.
01:52Under the RCEF Mechanization Program,
01:55the President is part of the agricultural machinery that is worth P19 million
02:02where it is received by 10 farmers cooperatives and associations of Nueva Ecija.
02:11Different production and post-harvest machinery that is worth P15.4 million
02:18can be distributed to Shamna Farmers Cooperatives and Associations in the province of Antique.
02:30Aside from this, the President also answered the loans on land
02:34and distributed the land to farmers to increase their income
02:39and to have more agricultural produce.
02:48It is proven this November that the President is part of more than 2,900 Certificates of Condonation
02:56with Release of Mortgage and 34 Certificates of Land Ownership Award
03:02for more than 2,000 farmers in Pampanga.
03:07According to the President, P206.38 million was saved by the government
03:14from the loans of the Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries.
03:22One of the challenges to have more and better harvest is the El Niño and the typhoons.
03:31That is why the President is part of P10,000 under Presidential Assistance to Farmers, Fisherfolk and Families or PAF.
03:44It is proven this December that the President is part of PAF in Albay and Camarines Sur
03:51where it is worth P100 million and has 10,000 farmers and fishermen.
04:03And this September, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. launched the Agri-Puhunan Program
04:09also known as the Department of Agriculture or DA.
04:14This program aims to increase their productivity and income
04:18by providing low-cost funds, financial assistance and a market ready for their harvest.
04:30For the dry cropping season in 2024-2025,
04:35it will fund 50,000 hectares of land for farmers and cooperatives
04:42under the National Regulation of Irrigation,
04:49in the irrigation systems of the Upper Pampanga River, Magat River Integrated Irrigation System
04:57and NIA systems serving the Cordillera Administrative Region, OCAD.
05:03The Marcos Jr. Administration will continue to make steps and programs
05:08that are beneficial for the farmers in order to have a good harvest
05:14and be able to cope with challenges, globalization and famine.
05:19In the new Philippines, the agricultural sector of the country is important for the development of our economy.

07:34the number coding scheme in Metro Manila continues until 10 a.m.
07:40Later at 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.

07:46But in Makati, Las Piñas, and Baguio City,
