00:00We're also seeing a lot of movement in the market and taking a look with the Super Bowl
00:07odds whether you have those early future tickets or if you're looking to jump back in with
00:11just a couple of weeks remaining.
00:13A bit of a bit of adjustment here from the odds makers.
00:16We saw last week the Lions were sitting at plus 500.
00:20They shortened up to currently sit at plus 390.
00:23The Chiefs they shortened up to plus 450.
00:25The Bills drift out to plus 470 and the Eagles go out to plus 650.
00:31So from the top five choices, what's the standout for you, Joe?
00:35Any surprises that the Lions continue to see that play at the market?
00:40Well, no, there are concerns.
00:43I think that people should be very concerned about the Detroit Lions on the defensive side.
00:49But the thing that makes them unique, if it was any other team, Dubs, the injuries
00:55that they have sustained on that side would have been season ending for a lot of teams.
01:01But not when you can drop 40 plus points in a game on any other defense.
01:07And that means you're basically even if your defense gives up 30, your offense is always
01:12going to give you a chance to win.
01:14It makes it much harder in order to do it.
01:19But the possibility is there, and they've shown it time and time again, that even though
01:23that defense is suspect now, the fact that you can drop 35, 40 points a game on other
01:30quality defenses, that means you got to be taken seriously.
01:35You can absolutely win this thing.
01:37Offense wins, right?
01:39We'll see, though.
01:40It's vitally important for them to keep that home field.
01:44And the road to the Super Bowl has to go through Detroit there, Dubs.
01:48And if it does, they are without a doubt and should be your favorite.
01:53What if it doesn't, Joe, devil's advocate?
01:55What if it runs through Arrowhead?
01:57We've seen time and time again.
01:59The Kansas City Chiefs, you look at their record, it's fantastic on paper.
02:02They managed to win these close, nail-biting, rock fight style of games.
02:07And they're sitting as the second choice at plus 450.
02:10Do we just buy in on the class factor?
02:13They've won the last two.
02:14They're going to figure out a way to win a third?
02:17Well, they pretty much locked up that number one seed in the AFC.
02:21So Buffalo, if they're the second choice, is going to have to go to Arrowhead and
02:27beat Kansas City.
02:29Buffalo would have liked it to go through Orchard Park,
02:31where they haven't lost a game in forever.
02:34But if you're going to represent the AFC, you're going to have to beat Kansas City
02:40in Kansas City, because I'm fairly certain they pretty much have locked up
02:44with that win against Houston.
02:46That number one seed, which means somebody's got to beat the Chiefs in
02:50Arrowhead if they're going to the Super Bowl.
02:52And Detroit, same way.
02:53And the reason I say that in the NFC, Detroit, it's got to go through Detroit.
02:59Let me reiterate that.
03:00It's got to remain the number one seed indoors.
03:05How's that?
03:05Is that better?
03:06So even if it's Minnesota who catches them, and it may very well come down to
03:10that Week 18 game between Detroit and Minnesota, indoors.
03:15That's where they have to...
03:17They've played their entire season, Dubs, outside of a handful of games indoors.
03:22And we all know Jared Goff much better indoors.
03:25That offense is way scarier indoors than they are outdoors.
03:31I would not bet Detroit if they had to go to Philadelphia to play a playoff game.
03:36No way would I bet them outdoors any elements and think that they
03:40would somehow compete.
03:42That's what makes, I think, you've got to be able to score in order to keep pace
03:48with Detroit if it's indoors and Detroit has the number one seed.
03:53So teams like the Rams, not the Rams, the Packers, I think, are interesting,
03:59which weren't even on the board, if you noticed that.
04:01Oh, there they are at 13-1 right now.
04:04I think the Vikings, the Packers, teams that can put up points in bunches that
04:09have that offense, they could very well represent the NFC in the Super Bowl.
04:15And really, when you look at these numbers here, Dubs, you have to have
04:18confidence that, well, the Chiefs are winning the AFC and the Lions are
04:22winning the NFC.
04:24If not, I happen to think the Bills are going to be the team to beat in the AFC.
04:29So I know I have a good feeling that the Bills are going to be representing the
04:32AFC in the Super Bowl, and if it's Bills-Detroit, didn't we just see that?
04:37And that worked out for Detroit.
