00:05is fetching most of the attention. Not only does the teaser provide the first footage of the new

00:09Man of Steel, it also shows off a host of other DC characters set to feature in the movie.

00:13And out of all of them, one furry hero has the internet's attention.

00:18The Superman teaser starts with a sense of hopelessness. The Man of Steel crash-lands

00:23in the snow, bloody and beaten. All hope is not lost, though, as he whistles for assistance.

00:27In the distance, the snow rumbles before Krypto appears to save the day.

00:31For many fans, this single moment proved to be more than enough to convince them that

00:35James Gunn's Superman movie is the real deal. Redditors weighed in with their opinion,

00:39with one user saying,

00:40"'I love that Superman's backup is just his loyal dog.'"

00:43Others were in agreement, with another fan writing,

00:46"'That's just about the most wholesome and tears-of-joy-inspiring thing I've seen in

00:49a movie for a long time.'"

00:50Similarly, the ex-community had tons of praise for Krypto, and the memes flowed.

01:06But while everyone was gushing about the Kryptonian canine,

01:08James Gunn made sure to pour some water on the cutesy fire.

01:11During the trailer premiere event, Gunn discussed how his Superman movie plans

01:15to embrace the larger mythology of the Man of Steel, including Krypto the superdog.

01:19So while the trailer shows all the feels between Kal-El and Krypto,

01:22that isn't necessarily an accurate reflection of their bond. Gunn said,

01:26"'His relationship with Krypto is complicated. He's not nearly the

01:29best dog. There's a lot more to Krypto than you see in this trailer.'"

01:33Previously, Gunn mentioned that the characterization for Krypto was

01:36influenced by a rescue dog that he adopted named Ozu. He wrote on Instagram,

01:40"'He immediately came in and destroyed our home, our shoes, our furniture,

01:43even ate my laptop. I remember thinking,

01:46gosh, how difficult would life be if Ozu had superpowers?''

01:49So it's extremely possible that although Krypto may look cute,

01:52he's going to raise hell in the movie. From the looks of the teaser,

01:55Superman will have his hands full with the likes of Lex Luthor and Metamorpho,

01:59throwing an unruly superpowered dog into the mix is a recipe for chaos,

02:02but we're betting he won't have to stay in the doghouse of solitude the whole movie.
