00:00James Gunn's Superman trailer is here, and there's a lot to take in. But we're not here
00:05to talk about Krypto or Lex Luthor or Mr. Terrific. No, we're here to talk about Clark
00:09Kent's Zoomer haircut. No cap.
00:13When David Cornsweat's Superman is in full superhero mode, he sports the iconic Man of
00:17Steel look — slicked-back hair with a single curl dangling down his forehead. But when
00:21he's Clark Kent going to the Daily Planet, he has a mess of curls in what's known as
00:26a broccoli cut — a trendy variation on the classic bowl cut, also known as a Zoomer
00:31perm or an alpaca cut. This look has led to much, um, discussion online. One ex-poster
00:38called it,
00:39"...very funny to behold," calling Clark's do a no-cap, for-real-for-real jewel vape
00:43perm.
00:44Bro, it looks so good.
00:46Over on Reddit, one user compared the look to Moss from The It Crowd.
00:50Let me put on my slightly larger glasses.
00:53This Clark Kent looks like he's more likely to host a YouTube channel where he reviews
00:57vape pens rather than save the world, and, hey, that's a pretty good disguise. Clark
01:02Kent having a more Gen Z-centric haircut in James Gunn's Superman makes sense. Gunn confirmed
01:07that Cornsweat's Superman will be 32 years old when the movie comes out on July 11th,
01:122025.
01:13Assuming the film also takes place during that year, that means Kal-El would've been
01:17born in 1993. Technically, this would put him in the micro-generation known as Zillennials,
01:23which are younger Millennials and older Zoomers usually born between 1993 and 1999.
01:29The point being, this Clark Kent can get away with a broccoli cut since he's on the younger
01:33side. Regardless of how one feels about this specific haircut, it's kind of fun to see
01:38how drastically different Cornsweat looks between his two identities. In previous iterations,
01:42Clark Kent would look a bit shaggier, while Superman would be a bit slicker.
01:47Cornsweat's Clark Kent is drastically messier than Superman's, so it probably makes sense
01:51that no one would put two and two together and figure out Clark and Superman are the
01:55same person, especially if he's also wearing glasses. Some folks may make fun of the look,
02:00but it has its defenders, like this Redditor, who pointed out,
02:03"'He's downright cute. I am used to seeing Clark as handsome, but never handsome and
02:07cute like he is here.'"
02:08If nothing else, Cornsweat should thank Nathan Fillion for drawing some attention away from
02:13him. Somehow, his blonde bowl cut is the second most interesting hairdo in the teaser.
