00:00An east coast icon, now on the international stage as a daredevils paradise.
00:13Tasmanian teenager Rowan Wilcox helping to lure the best freestyle cliff jumpers to his
00:18training base at Tri-Bunna.
00:20I found this place maybe three years ago and it was like crap, this is the perfect place
00:25to jump.
00:26I never really kind of saw a competition being here.
00:29He said the idea, okay why don't you guys come down under and we can organise something
00:35nice over here.
00:36The international gymnast performs his triple flips from a much greater height in his spare
00:41time.
00:42Do all the tricks in a safe environment and then bring them out to the cliffs so people
00:45don't see that and we're really trained and it's really rare that we actually stuff up.
00:50When you're on top of the cliff you just see it going right in your head two or three times
00:53and then just go for it and that's the best feeling when you hit the water.
01:00The event attracting hundreds of spectators, happy to be watching from ground level.
01:04Pretty cool, pretty cool actually, I wouldn't do it myself but yeah.
01:09Bit scary for me but you know they're mudbusters for doing it so yeah, good honour.
01:18Jumping off the diving platform is reserved to the nine elite athletes taking part in
01:22today's competition, leaving everyone else to practice their tricks much closer to the
01:28ground.
