00:00All right, welcome back and we are at Mesa Country Club. Trent Ryan famously shot a career-best
00:0587 here just a few weeks ago. Mesa Country Club underwent a full restoration earlier this year was closed for about nine months
00:11Just reopened and it's fantastic. The bunkering, the greens, just the general shape of the whole place. They did a fantastic job. They
00:19Reshaped nearly all the greens. They rerouted three of the holes and it's excellent. We are gonna start playing the blue tees
00:25We're gonna start here on the 508 yard 13th hole
00:28This is a dogleg left that goes over the road and then all the way uphill for the last hundred yards or so
00:33Setting up to hit a draw up the right side and just hit a block out to the right into the wrong
00:39Just the wrong fairway. So I don't even know how far we've got in from here
00:42I grabbed a six iron the guys on the hole that I hit it into hadn't quite teed off yet
00:47So I was trying to rush over there and hit from their fairway before
00:50They got up and I had to wait and make it awkward and weird
00:54I just hit a six iron actually hit it pretty good
00:56But I believe I hit a tree and it kicked backwards and to the right so for this par 5
01:01We're a little bit struggling a little bit behind the eight ball here a couple smooth swings
01:05Actually, just maybe a little bit open face sending it out to the right
01:08It's not quite shaping it the way that we would like to but luckily we're dressed the way we'd like to be

01:51Awkward situation here as we are just off the backside of the part 3 16th hole hitting
01:57You know the green you can look up there
01:59The green is just right of those bunkers on the left
02:03So I've got to hit over these young men playing this part 3. I got a 7-iron
02:08I thought it was about 160 or so. I wasn't 100% sure in a game
02:11I'm just trying to get out of this situation. I'm trying not to hit this tree. I'm trying not to hit these people
02:16I'm trying not to embarrass myself
02:17Hit a 7-iron kind of pull drew it a little bit and just caught that bunker not the worst spot
02:23We got a chance for an up-and-down here after again quite a bit of an embarrassing situation a quick little zoom-in
02:28Look at the bunkering. They did a great job with the re-bunkering instead of kind of a big circular boring looking bunkers
02:33They're a lot more artistic. They sort of carve into the landscape. So Mesa's looking good
02:37We got a back right pin here kind of a bowl
02:39So I got a 54 degree wedge so I can swing less hard and kind of get it all the way back there actually hit a
02:44Pretty good effort here got it left of the pin
02:46It took that slope took that bowl and got just behind the pin left ourselves a ticklish one down the hill
02:52I really wasn't sure on this read
02:54I thought it was gonna kind of kick off this knob on the left and then at the end maybe come back a little bit
02:58To the right hit a pretty good putt a little aggressive
03:00It just never kicked right at all hung on the left side and missed get down there
03:04Now this one's the one you really got a bear down and not mess up, but luckily we didn't cleaned it up
03:08That's a bogey. We now move on to the brand new par 4
03:1214 pull at Mesa this used to be about a 230 or so yard par 3 now
03:16It's a 316 yard par 4
03:18From the blue tees step up with the driver try to hit a better one than we did the last time pretty smooth swing there
03:24Hit that one. Well kind of hit a little knuckler
03:26So it went up the left side
03:27It was kind of a pull slight cut knuckler got up the left side and go all the way up there
03:31It's only about 20 or 30 yards away from the green
03:33I think the gun had it to this kind of backish pin at about 36 yards. So we hit that one pretty good
03:38I got just a little you know, a little lob wedge here. Greens are firm coming off the redo
03:43So they're not quite fully settled yet
03:45So just figured if I pitch this on to kind of the front middle part of the green it should trundle all the way back
03:50There and I was kind of exactly what it did roll back to about pin high
03:52So we got ourselves a good look for birdie here to get back to even par on this little three hole video
03:58Kind of think it's gonna move just a little bit left to right under read it just a fraction
04:02I broke a little more than I thought so caught the right edge, but did not catch the hole
04:06That is one over through three
04:07We now move to the 15th hole where you kind of have to shape it a little bit left to right off the tee
04:12It's just ever so slightly doglegs to the right
04:15So setting up to kind of hit one up the right center and once again similar to that tee shot on
04:2013 just kind of open face hit it decently out to the right caught some trees lost some yardage
04:25But we got up there. We don't have the worst angle into the screen
04:27It was about 135 into this par 4 kind of got it
04:31Just fly everything on the way there and then the greens are a little firm
04:34So I tried to just choke down and take a little bit off of a 9-iron here
04:38I hit it decently but never really got it all the way up in the air took a little bit too much off
04:42It didn't quite send it up in the air enough and it just barely caught the green side bunker
04:46Got a pretty straightforward bunker shot clubhouse in the background long shadow. So it's beautiful out there amazing country club

04:57Slash foreplay pretty good bunker shot there a little bit deep, but you know nice tempo nice strike

05:16Pretty pathetic effort there once again kind of under read it didn't really have much conviction much integrity to that stroke
