A creator whose DIY making and baking tips regularly go viral has shared her Top 10 festive-themed snack ideas for the holidays. Rachel Anderson, from Utah, has built up nearly 150,000 followers turning to her for her quick, clean and simple snack ideas. For Rachel, a busy mom, making her snacks videos quick and straightforward is all part of her unique approach, as she understands how busy parents can be, so finding time for more elaborate bakes and treats might not be possible. Ahead of the festive season, Rachel has shared some of her favorite do-it-yourself snack ideas for Christmas. The concept started with the wholesome idea for a Christmas tree pineapple – a eureka moment, she admits, where she simply thought one looked like the other. That video was posted in 2023 and soon went viral, garnering millions of views across Rachel's platforms. From there, Rachel saw her followers' appetite for festive snacks, and so this year she has made other creations, such as raspberry Santa hats, mini yule logs, whipped cream Christmas trees and donut Santa hats. There have also been banana snowmen, a grinch punch, candy cane pretzels, and, for those who are looking for something a little more savory, holiday season salad skewers. Many of these ideas can be made in as little as five to 10 minutes, with Rachel opting for food items that many people already have in their kitchens. What the creator likes most about this quick and simplistic approach is that her children can get involved, too, and she often sees their faces light up as the festive creations come to life.

00:00As a busy mom, the easier, the better, the quicker.
00:07It's really easy. I did those with my daughter as well.
00:11And it's kind of more of like a healthy snack idea, especially for kids.
00:15So that one's very easy and just a little bit different than all the sugar you have to eat all year.
00:20That one I kind of just made on a whim.
00:25It's an idea I had with my mom like as a teenager.
00:29And we were like, oh, if you cut off the stem of a pineapple, it looks like a Christmas tree.
00:33So that one's like my favorite.
00:39That one, my girls definitely love that one the most.
00:43I had pretzels, white chocolate, and peppermint.
00:46If you just stick them together, it can kind of be a little candy cane.
00:52You just have to go buy like a little snack cake from the store.
00:56And so you can put like powdered sugar, all sorts of like candy on top of it to kind of make it look like a little cake.
01:02A lot of people recreated that one.
01:05There was a French club, a high school French club in Texas that actually did that idea of like a little club competition
01:12where you decorate your log and see who did it the best.
01:21You can't go wrong with donuts, the strawberry, and the whipped cream.
01:24That's essentially what it is.
01:31That one, I think I was just excited that I was like, oh, put a little chocolate chip on top of it.
01:36It's a little Santa hat, and you can decorate them on anything.
01:39I think I put them on pancakes.
01:41I'm like, you can eat them as a little snack.
01:43All you needed was raspberries and white chocolate.
01:48I'm a mom, so I'm like thinking like, what would kids eat?
01:53What's a fun party snack for them?
01:55So that's where my mind goes usually.
02:02How can you make a hot dog a little bit more fun and festive, especially for kids?
02:07Well, you could use like the peppermint stick as kind of like a stem and just cover it in whipped cream,
02:12sprinkles, and it's kind of like a white green Christmas tree.
02:16I'm like, well, what would be like a fun way of eating like an appetizer for the holidays?
02:28So I just decided to put like salad in chunks on like a kebab stick with a cheese sauce on top,
02:35so it looks more fun and festive than just a bunch of lettuce and dressing on a plate.
02:41I was just literally making a salad, cutting up a thing of lettuce,
02:46and I cut it just in a way that I'm like, this kind of looks like a Christmas tree if you lay it down right,
02:52because it was just cut like a triangle.
02:54So then I kind of just started to make it a little more festive.
02:57I put like a cheese star and a piece of bacon as a stem.
03:02So like, well, I guess that looks like a Christmas tree with salad.
03:11Yeah, that one definitely had my girls in mind.
03:15They love the Grinch in all the Christmas movies.
03:17So I just make some of their favorite drinks.
03:20I added some strawberry hearts and there you have it.
03:25To be creative, you don't always have to be elaborate.
03:28It can be very straightforward and simple.
03:30You can still have a little moment with your kids if you're very busy and stuff.
03:34So you can create with your family and really bring them together.
03:38I think that's the best part.
