01:05no doubt. I called all the Kirk's games when he was here. He got better every single year.
01:09His time is 25 games with Kevin O'Connell were fantastic. He was on an MVP pace last
01:16year. Then he popped the Achilles at Lambeau. And the situation in Atlanta is just think
01:22Sam Darnold. OK, I mean, Kirk is markedly more accomplished than Darnold. But just take
01:28what Darnold has done this year. Basically, you know, having struggled the majority of
01:33his career, go to the other side when you leave the O'Connell Covenant because the coaches
01:38here are high end and you have Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, TJ Hawkinson, Aaron Jones
01:44and so on. Well, Kirk doesn't have that anymore. And that's that's no affront to I love Darnell
01:50Mooney. He I think Darnell Mooney is one of the most underrated players in the National
01:55Football League. But I don't think too many would think Drake London, Mooney and Kyle
01:59Pitts are in the conversation that we just had. So are the example we just laid out.
02:05So I think Kirk's feeling that a little bit, probably second guessing some things and we'll
02:08see what the rookie can do. So do you like what was your you have to be jacked that they
02:15caught the Lions and where they're sitting and their record? And as they go to Lumen
02:21Field this week, that they have caught the top team and many believe in the NFL and certainly
02:27in the NFC. I'm not sure I'd buy that. I think Philadelphia has something to say about it.
02:32And so do the Vikings. What's your feeling about where you are right now?
02:36Hmm. Oh, it's fantastic. You know, it generally speaking, doing the nine to noon fan show,
02:43you know, and like you do hear coast to coast and a lot of radio people, you know, they'll
02:46understand that into the season, the audience, especially from a team's play by play guy
02:52was a radio show. There's a certain expectation for a record prediction. I couldn't come up
02:59with like a number this year is what I said is for whatever it's worth and all the years
03:03that I've called this team's games. You know, I think I know what a playoff team looks like.
03:09And I don't know if it's going to be a nine or 10 win playoff team or if it's going to
03:12be a 13, 14 or 15. But what I was seeing organized team activities and training camp.
03:17I knew this was a playoff team and Darnold was better than but you know, the way the
03:23way he's played really since the Jacksonville game about the last four or five of them.
03:28Wow. I mean, he's been as good as anybody in the league. So I love the team. I love
03:33the close knit nature. I love how they're able to overcome injuries like they lost their
03:39left tackle Christian Dara saw one of the best in the game about a month and a half
03:42ago. So what's the general manager Kweisi Adofo meant to do goes out and gets Cam Robinson
03:48from Jacksonville. And you got to sniff things like that out. I mean, you know, can't Cam
03:52has some high end to him. Now you got to pay for it. But you know, you got to know players
03:57like that are available. And just the whole regime here is playing really, really fast
04:03right now game at Seattle will be tricky. And, you know, before I joined you guys, I
04:07was listening to you and my guy from Long Island touting games. So you know, it's I
04:13didn't really I am really like looked at games analytically or critically yet. So I did for
04:17a little bit. And as the Lions go, all right, and the Lions are one of my three favorite
04:24teams in the NFL. I've always liked them. Got the Vikings one Cleveland to their coach
04:29Kevin Stefanski used to be with the Vikings probably the best friend I've ever had in
04:33the NFL. I love the guy and I always root for him to win. But with the Lions, they got
04:3822 guys on injured reserve, and they've lost 12 starters. And when they lost Aiden Hutchinson,
04:45that was right before they beat us at US Bank Stadium. All right, they've overcome it. They've
04:49overcome Alex Anzalone kind of a heart and soul guy to their defense. This David Montgomery
04:54loss that this is a big, big, big loss for the way they run offense. I mean, it's 12
05:01touchdowns in 1000 yards from scrimmage, but you got Jamir Gibbs running around people
05:06and he's high end. But Montgomery was the one to smash on you first. So I know what
05:13I just saw on the Bears. If the team's unorganized, however, they're plus 10 in the take give
05:20their quarterbacks gone to 85 or so without a pick, and they move the ball, but then they
05:26get these stupid pre snap penalties or turn or not even really turnovers, they'll just
05:32flub something. So I don't know what they're getting. But they're at home. And this is
05:38the first for the Lions without Montgomery, I kind of like Chicago in this game. So as
05:45far as Sam in the future, because McCarthy's had two knee surgeries, and is their plan
05:53to just go to him? Because I'm hearing Oh, Sam Darnold's gonna have 15 job offers. What
05:59is the Vikings plan for the future? I know they're worried about right now sitting where
06:04they are in the position they're in the postseason is right around the corner doing push ups.
06:09But let's face facts. There's people talking about him playing back here in New York.
06:15Well, if it was a gun to the head situation for the GM or the head coach right now, I
06:22would imagine they probably have a great feeling as to exactly what they want to do
06:27moving in the offseason. You know, they've done a really good job with reclamation project,
06:32Scott. Sam would be that we got this defensive lineman, former first round pick, I believe
06:37by the Chargers named Jerry Tillery. Everybody considered him a bust. He's having the best
06:42season of his career. We Jonathan Bernard, Blake Cashman, Andrew van Ginkle, they're
06:47Byron Murphy, Jr. They're all having the best seasons of their career at bank ankles,
06:53the bomb. So with that said, you know, Sam, I don't know what they're gonna do. And working
07:03with the team yet doing a radio show. It obviously has some tricky balance to it. But over the
07:09years, I've just learned when to push and when not to push. And that's not a question
07:16I'm going to ask on the inside right now. When the season's over, I'm quite positive
07:20I'll have the answer. If I were to use discernment, putting a franchise tag on him at $38 million
07:28and moving from there seems seems to be the right business way to do it. Right. You know,
07:34because if he's really going to get 35 a year and some cousins ask 100 million promised,
07:39I just don't see it happening here because we have another reclamation project. By the
07:43way, you know who he is. You're based in the NYC. Daniel Jones. And, you know, darn
07:48old like Jones, a former first round pick those Daniel now that I've gotten to know
07:53him a little bit and watch him on the practice squad in practice. Okay, he's skilled. Everybody
07:57knows that and he made a lot of mistakes. Everybody knows that. But I just think he
08:02needed to chill and just get away from that situation for a little while. Take take a
08:08deep breath and then work with these hot Kevin O'Connell probably is going to be coach
08:13of the year. He's favored. And he's gone favored the last three weeks. So you know how that
08:17works. Those are a lot of dimes rolling in.

08:24coach gonna get some, you know that he's gonna you know what I love my son was I want to
