00:00I like to get very familiar with lines so that when I'm acting it or when I'm
00:10doing it on set or on stage or wherever if I know them so well or I know the
00:14story and the character and the situation so well either if you know
00:18either if someone drops something I can pick it up and it doesn't throw me or if
00:22nothing's going to really throw me because I have kind of really immersed
00:27myself in it it's not about the stupid washing up Jack and yeah I'm doing it
00:35again but whatever it's not about that it's about the fact that I'm always
00:39waiting waiting for you to show me something real okay so breaking down a
00:46script I will write how I literally within that within the lines that I've
00:52got I will also write how this makes me feel or I think I mentioned earlier but
00:59like what am I actually saying when I'm saying this line or what is the
01:04character what's the other person saying at this point so I will monologue
01:08obviously is a bit different but I do like to be out if I'm doing a monologue
01:12and it's not just like a soliloquy or whatever I'm focusing at someone so I've
01:17got something to play off but otherwise acting is really about reacting and I
01:25think the best actors the person the people who are listening really really
01:30really listening and then they're just gonna be fully in the moment because
01:34you're not that's why if you know your lines so well and I'm I'm just waiting
01:38for what you're gonna say to me I'm not waiting for my cue my next line I know
01:44what that is so what are you telling me it was your suggestion and then suddenly
01:49in true narcissistic fashion it was something that I wanted and I've pushed
01:53you for and I forced you into I never wanted to come to your dingy little
01:56flapjack never and I definitely never asked to become your maid and your
02:01housekeeper and your a counselor and your emotional release after a long day
02:04I never I did there are a lot of dark moments I think in this industry I have
02:15a myriad of stories I could tell you about rejection and being not seen
02:20looked over getting to the lap down to the last two a million times being
02:26penciled losing the job getting the job and then the point zero zero zero one
02:34percent for whatever chance of you losing the job actually happens and you
02:39know they give it to a stunt person because you get shot in it and that
02:43might be bad you know just mad stuff that happens so you are not your career
02:49you are Hester or whoever you are you're not defined by your career and and
02:59you're not defined by a job or whether you get a job we don't get a job and you
03:05have to your identity is not in being an actor or in being part of this industry
03:12you have an amazing identity and I think the moment you realize that and you
03:18grasp that and you stop striving and you can and you know that a rejection
03:24is not about you everything changes everything's gonna change because you're
03:29holding it lightly and and you have purpose in your life whether you are on
03:37stage or on set or somewhere else your purpose you are you are already whole
03:44and being an actor or being in this industry doesn't change that
