00:00Who's excited for Christmas?
00:07Ready?
00:08Three, two, one.
00:11Merry Christmas!
00:14Hay bales, old farm equipment, and a dash of creativity.
00:22Rain, hail or shine, this tiny rural community celebrates its holidays,
00:29country style.
00:31The kids love getting into the festivities.
00:33It's actually quite cool.
00:35It's cool seeing all the Santa's and everyone else's decorations.
00:40Last year we did something not as great as this.
00:44So this year you've gone bigger and better?
00:47Yes.
00:48But they have to fight off the adults.
00:50We didn't get to help much.
00:52Oh.
00:53Well, my auntie and my mum and...
00:56Dad?
00:57Dad maybe.
00:58Why do the kids always have to have all the fun too?
01:01We make it fun.
01:03About five years ago, Cheryl and Terry Willey's original Christmas display
01:07delighted their neighbours.
01:09Found a Santa suit in the cupboard and the granddaughter was there
01:13so we decided that we'd fill it and sit it on the front veranda.
01:18But my husband came out and said,
01:20no, I've got a tractor, we'll put it on the tractor out the front.
01:25He took off from there.
01:26And so we just decided,
01:28oh, it was so wonderful to see the old Santa sitting up on the old tractor.
01:32Let's all put a Santa out the front and get the Christmas cheer happening
01:36and then it's just snowballed.
01:38Using whatever they had on hand,
01:40bikes, booze and even chamber pots
01:45to create a trail for visitors and townsfolk.
01:49It started out as a little bit of family fun
01:52and turned into elaborate Christmas displays like this one.
01:56These busy farmers always find time to bring their community Christmas joy,
02:00whatever the weather.
02:02Uniting a small, spread out community.
