00:00I mean, how are we feeling right now? I was, I keep telling people, I'm like, I feel like I need to do a bit of a
00:04mea culpa for Ugly Sonic, because one, I feel bad that we called him that, and two, it's like
00:09definition of trust the process, because look where we are now.
00:11I know, it was out of the ashes of Ugly Sonic that this beautiful trilogy of films, this phoenix, had to rise.
00:18So, you know, it was a necessary sacrifice, but yes,
00:22thank you, Ugly Sonic, for the memories.
00:25I loved him in the Chippendale movie.
00:27Yes.
00:28No, it was a great joke. We all thought it was hilarious and very clever, and yeah, all good.
00:34Well, now here we are, and obviously, you know, the first film, we have an amazing cast. The second one comes around,
00:38you're like, let's get Idris Elba. He says yes. Third film, Keanu Reeves says yes.
00:44It's just, my disbelief just continues to grow with every movie. I mean, our little Sonic family continues to grow.
00:50We keep bringing in all these incredible talents to come in and tell these stories with us, and it's just, yeah,
00:56it's literally, it's surreal, because I remember that first movie, it feels like it was yesterday. Now, to be here, it's iconic,
01:02you know, Chinese theater, it's just, it's incredible. It does feel like yesterday.
01:07It does, but I've got a few more gray hairs to prove that it was not yesterday,
01:12but loving it, having fun every minute of it.
01:15Obviously, you know, they each have their own, the Team Sonic, they each have their own unique personalities. Now, we have Shadow coming in here.
01:22What are, like, three words you would use to describe
01:24what Shadow is like?
01:28Mysterious and complex
01:30and also emotional. I think his story was one of the things that we were so excited about, this third film.
01:36It's a backstory that's so beloved by fans. He's been around for 20 years.
01:40We knew we had to do it justice and give fans a really great movie version.
01:44Lila Brown, who's somewhere on the carpet here, who we cast as Maria, just an incredible talent for her to come in and be,
01:51you know,
01:52such a young actor and to be able to deliver a performance because, again, Shadow is not a real character.
01:58She's filming with tennis balls and puppets, and she just gave us an amazing performance.
02:03Yeah, and obviously, I mean, I'm sure you're aware of the Maddie color theory.
02:07Yes, I will not, I would love to take credit and say that we've had this all mapped out from the start,
02:15but I will, you know, I'll leave it to fans to speculate whether or not that was all
02:22truly planned.
02:23I think go with it. I thought you were like the Taylor Swift of Sega Genesis.
02:26You know, we try our best to lay out the road map a few films to come,
02:30and the rest of the time, we're just hanging on for dear life and having a great time.
02:34Well, what do you see as the future of Sonic?
02:37I mean, we always are excited to tease new characters.
02:40Sonic's been around for 30 years. There's so many great characters to sort of pull into this movie world.
02:45The ones that we choose, it's always because we feel like there's a really great story,
02:49and then it might take our movie universe in exciting and interesting new directions.
02:53So, yeah, I think the possibilities are endless.
02:56And right now, just going to enjoy movie three tonight,
02:59and then we'll wake up and we'll maybe see where to go from here.
