00:00Hi there, my name is Ben Banks, I'm the Deputy Sports Editor at Glasgow World.
00:06Today I'll be taking you behind the scenes of the Premier Sports Cup Final between Celtic and Rangers.
00:11The Ibrox club looking to hold on to the trophy they won last year against Aberdeen.
00:16Celtic looking to reclaim a trophy that they have become accustomed to winning over the last decade or so.
00:23We are in the press box today, myself and Glasgow World sports writer Lewis Anderson.
00:28I'll be taking you behind the scenes right from now, just past 9am, just finishing off the final pre-match articles and final planning on our side of things
00:37for the game at Hampden Park before we make our way through to Hampden.
00:41It's a half-three kick-off so we'll probably leave around about three hours before kick-off, that's when the press box opens.
00:47We'll go in, do our preparations for the game from there as well and start a busy day ahead of us.
00:53We'll take you right through from entry to the ground, pre-match, post-match, hearing from players.
00:59So stay tuned with us and we'll take you right behind where you want to see in and around today's big game.
01:24Aye, aye.
01:34Right, we're about an hour away from kick-off here, the team lines have been released, the wind is blowing
01:39and we look like we've been stuck in the electric room for the last hour and a half.
01:43But the team news, no real surprises in it, John Suter misses out for Rangers with injury, Alistair Johnson makes it from a Celtic perspective.
01:51And that is kind of what we expected. Lewis, how do you think the game will go today?
01:55Yeah, difficult condition, the spin, it's going to be blustery, it's going to be difficult to keep the ball down on the park.
02:01Obviously, traditional games, these old firm clashes, aren't they?
02:05It's certainly going to be tight, I think, obviously, a bit of momentum, Rangers building steadily now as well.
02:11So, certainly give them more of a chance than you maybe would have wanted to go, but it's going to be difficult.
02:17I think it could seriously be extra time and penalties, it's a really tough one to call.
02:23We're away for a can of hairspray, a katsu curry and a bit of a...

04:06Come on, come on, come on!
04:08Come on!
04:27There's probably no better way to win it than that.
04:31It was a big pressure situation and the players stepped up and delivered in those moments
04:36moments so amazing, good cup game and obviously to win it on penalties you kind of get that
04:41added feeling but fantastic for the girl.
04:44Did they get a bit too close for comfort?
04:46I think cup finals are always tight and you look back through the years there's not many
04:51that have won and been comfortable really, they're always tight, they're always edgy
04:55and especially when you play Rangers they're a good side as well, they brought a lot to
04:58the game, a lot of quality as well and it was a good cup game so you've got to do a
05:03lot right, you've got to fight and in the difficult moments you need to change the momentum
05:07of the game and we did that really well at the start of the second half so we can be
05:11really proud of ourself in a difficult moment, we produced the moments that we needed.
05:16It brings obviously flashbacks from the Seville final when you lose on a penalty shootout
05:20when the game's so close, these games are obviously decided on small margins and I'm
05:26obviously proud of all the boys who were able to step up and take a penalty, it's one of
05:30those moments, you flip up a coin, you have a win on another penalty shootout, you don't
05:33so obviously it wasn't a hard day but we can take positives out of this game, obviously
05:38it's still sore and raw, obviously our aim is to win it but we can take some positives
05:44out of this game.
05:46So it's quiet after the storm now, the post-match media duties are done, finished here at Hampden
05:52in a pulsating, classic cup final that will be talked about for years to come, Celtic
05:573, Rangers 3, Celtic winning 5-4 on penalties after extra time. I don't think anybody really
06:03seen that game coming based on the first half, it was a bit of a game of attrition, not a
06:07lot of quality, quite a lot of mistakes on both sides, Rangers probably looking slightly
06:12the better team, then you'd sort of thought that it was going to be a tale of this fixture
06:16in the last four or five years or so, Celtic scored two within a few minutes of each other
06:20and Rangers looked like the roof was going to cave in, definitely signs of it, but to
06:24their credit they came back and again looked the stronger team, looked the more threatening
06:28team, got level again through Mohamed Diomande and you begin to think that it could have
06:34been their day, Nicholas Kuhn looks to have given Celtic the win in a similar style to
06:38Ademida in the Scottish Cup final earlier this year, Rangers just kept coming, De Niro
06:43then puts them back level and again the players were done, the players were shot during extra
06:50time, it felt like it was, you were just waiting for penalties and went pretty much
06:55okay, all the penalties were decent outside that Red Vanyel Mazic which was saved by Kasper
06:59Schmeichel, so silverware for Celtic, Philippe LeMond not happy at all in the post-match
07:04presser about a potential penalty incident with Liam Scales on back left shirt and I'm
07:08sure we're going to hear about that in the full-blown aftermath of this game in the build-up
07:13to the weekend, so plenty to talk about after this one, probably one that even though they've
07:18come on the day, Rangers will take a little hold from it, a lot of people have written
07:20them off of this game but they very much showed that the Cat and Man Celtic on the day, but
07:24from the hoops it's a familiar story of late, they win, they come to Hampden and they win
07:29silverware and Rodgers wins games in the derbies, that's kind of what he's done over his two
07:33stints, so now it's back to Premiership action for both sides, it is a home game for Rangers
07:40there at home to Dundee, whereas Celtic are at Tayside in Dundee when they play Dundee
07:45in 18 to 10 days.
