00:00:30we get your feedback
00:00:32so this feedback matters a lot for us
00:00:34I might be sounding a little nasal today
00:00:36because
00:00:38due to health issues
00:00:40every other person in Karachi
00:00:42coughs and sneezes
00:00:44this is how you are feeling sick
00:00:46because if we talk about the last few days
00:00:48it has been so cold and windy
00:00:50that
00:00:52comparatively people are feeling
00:00:54that the weather is a little warm
00:00:56I was just checking, it is 16 degrees in Karachi
00:00:58and it feels like 18 degrees
00:01:00so we can say it is a little warm
00:01:02but when the winds are blowing
00:01:04whether it is 16 degrees, 10 degrees
00:01:06or 12 degrees
00:01:08you just remember the name of the cold
00:01:10so let's go
00:01:12we can talk about the weather in detail
00:01:14but initially
00:01:16everyone should take care
00:01:18especially to avoid
00:01:20the cold winds
00:01:22you should wear jackets, coats
00:01:24and mufflers
00:01:26if you can, wear socks
00:01:28take care of yourself
00:01:30a big issue
00:01:32since the last few days
00:01:34how many days are left
00:01:36for the ICC Champions Trophy
00:01:38who is hosting? Pakistan
00:01:40but it was not decided
00:01:42whether India would like to come to Pakistan
00:01:44or not
00:01:46India had already said
00:01:48and I am very surprised
00:01:50some of their media
00:01:52some of their journalists
00:01:54that we do not want to come to Pakistan
00:01:56it has been a year
00:01:58but formally and professionally
00:02:00there are some requirements
00:02:02you tell formally
00:02:04how long you have been a mumma
00:02:06news came through the media
00:02:08ICC played a stand-by role
00:02:10we thought
00:02:12the ICC
00:02:14had to make all the decisions
00:02:16but until all the decisions
00:02:18and acceptance came from India
00:02:20nothing was decided
00:02:22Pakistan had given a proposal
00:02:24to do a fusion
00:02:26and the fusion would be
00:02:28India should play its match
00:02:30in a neutral place, Dubai
00:02:32Pakistan should not come
00:02:34but when India will host
00:02:36then we will not go to India
00:02:38and we will play the match in a neutral venue
00:02:40so this should be decided for 3 years
00:02:42India was not agreeing to this
00:02:44but finally we are seeing
00:02:46that on the ICC Champions Trophy
00:02:48all the issues have been resolved
00:02:50and all the issues
00:02:52related to the event
00:02:54have been resolved
00:02:56but I am still waiting
00:02:58for the official press conference
00:03:00where it can be said
00:03:02that Pakistan will host
00:03:04India's match in Dubai
00:03:06and India could not reach
00:03:08in the semi-final
00:03:10so this is very important
00:03:12then all the knockout matches
00:03:14will be held in Pakistan
00:03:16Pakistan will not go to India
00:03:18to play in the semi-final
00:03:20and Pak-India and Pakistan
00:03:22matches will be held in Sri Lanka
00:03:24so the Champions Trophy will be played
00:03:26from 19th February to 9th March
00:03:28there will be a lot of events
00:03:30Pakistan is hosting
00:03:32so there will be a lot of excitement
00:03:34and let's see
00:03:36now the clarity has come
00:03:38where it will be, how it will be
00:03:40how the matches will be
00:03:42so with clarity, Pakistan's preparations
00:03:44are going on
00:03:46we have seen a lot of renovations
00:03:48in supervision
00:03:50of our cricket stadium
00:03:52which is a very good thing
00:03:54and now we have to see
00:03:56how Pakistan hosts
00:03:58and hosts so well
00:04:00so this is the whole situation
00:04:02and in this situation
00:04:04there is no backdrop
00:04:06but the Pakistan team
00:04:08from South Africa
00:04:10in T20, Pakistan could not win
00:04:12two matches were won by South Africa
00:04:14that was a rain
00:04:16so we can guess
00:04:18what was the situation
00:04:20so this is a good news
00:04:22from cricket
00:04:24in the sense that
00:04:26at least we have a plan
00:04:28and according to that
00:04:30we will move forward
00:04:32so the second news is
00:04:34that the prices of petrol
00:04:36have not changed
00:04:38we can consider this
00:04:40as a positive news
00:04:42so the prices of petrol
00:04:44have not changed
00:04:46the price of petrol
00:04:48is 252.10
00:04:50the price of high speed diesel
00:04:52is 3.05
00:04:54so in this way
00:04:56the new price of high speed diesel
00:04:58is 255.38
00:05:00the price of light diesel
00:05:02is 2.78
00:05:04and the new price
00:05:06is 148.95
00:05:08the price of
00:05:10oil is
00:05:123.32
00:05:14and the new price
00:05:16is 161.66
00:05:18so this is the
00:05:20situation in front of you
00:05:24so now
00:05:26let's jump into the political field
00:05:28and what is happening in the political field
00:05:30the scenario
00:05:32keeps changing
00:05:34the back story remains the same
00:05:36the main theme is
00:05:38that no one is able to understand
00:05:40the wisdom behind Pakistan's movement
00:05:42you might remember
00:05:44that on 13th or 14th
00:05:46of December
00:05:48they gave a time limit
00:05:50to the movement
00:05:52that if the government
00:05:54talks to us
00:05:56then we will not run this movement
00:05:58and if they don't talk to us
00:06:00then we will run this movement
00:06:02now what has happened
00:06:04the situation of BPTI is not clear
00:06:06and the statement of the minister
00:06:08is very important
00:06:10he says that he did not announce
00:06:12the movement of civil disobedience
00:06:14it was Bani who said it
00:06:16so this is a very interesting statement
00:06:18there is no clarity on this
00:06:20and if there is clarity
00:06:22then we will do civil disobedience
00:06:24let's listen to what Bani was saying
00:06:26so it seems like
00:06:28the second tier leadership
00:06:30of PPTI
00:06:32is distancing itself
00:06:34from the politics of Bani
00:06:36let's move ahead
00:06:38and talk about
00:06:40the minister's political advisor
00:06:42Rana Sanawallah
00:06:44that these people ran away from D-Chowk
00:06:46people hit their cars
00:06:48PTI social media cell
00:06:50tried to show the lie as the truth
00:06:52this is Rana Sanawallah's statement
00:06:54now the deputy minister of information
00:06:56Ali Ameen Gandapur
00:06:58says that the next call
00:07:00will not be the same
00:07:02so what was his call
00:07:04that was not fulfilled
00:07:06so let's listen to what Atta Tarar is saying
00:07:08now in such a situation
00:07:10we can see the government
00:07:12Chairman Senate
00:07:14which belongs to Pakistan People's Party
00:07:16Yusuf Raza Girani says that
00:07:18People's Party wants to join the government
00:07:20but will not join
00:07:22I don't know
00:07:24they are not part of the cabinet
00:07:26but why did they reiterate
00:07:28what is the story behind it
00:07:30our discussion continues
00:07:32Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui of MQM
00:07:34says that the governorship
00:07:36that we have got
00:07:38is not in charity
00:07:40the government should try to
00:07:42change the situation
00:07:44so these are the statements
00:07:46and MQM says that
00:07:48the ministries are not in charity
00:07:50so why is MQM People's Party
00:07:52getting so upset with the government
00:07:54this is a scenario
00:07:56we will talk about it
00:07:58but what is happening
00:08:00the statements coming from the party
00:08:02are different
00:08:04let's talk about it
00:08:06Bureau Chief Islam Abad
00:08:08has joined us
00:08:10first of all
00:08:12Ali Ameen Gandapur
00:08:14I remember when the
00:08:16Shinghai conference was taking place
00:08:18he was saying that
00:08:20he will not leave until
00:08:22Bani tells him to go back
00:08:24now he says that
00:08:26I did not give this call
00:08:28Bani gave it
00:08:30so if Bani gave it
00:08:32why is it not being followed now
00:08:34what is happening here?
00:08:36I think
00:08:38if you listen to his entire statement
00:08:40Ali Ameen Gandapur
00:08:42said the same thing
00:08:44when he asked
00:08:46he said that
00:08:48I did not give this call
00:08:50Bani gave it
00:08:52and whatever he decides
00:08:54it is our duty
00:08:56as a party
00:08:58and we have to do it
00:09:00as far as I have heard his statement
00:09:02but
00:09:04the civil disobedience
00:09:06dates will be given
00:09:0813 and 14
00:09:10so what happened?
00:09:12they are saying that
00:09:14we have to do it
00:09:16they are talking to the
00:09:18unions
00:09:20yesterday
00:09:22and today
00:09:24in some cases
00:09:26Bani PTI
00:09:28has a chance to meet
00:09:30and from there
00:09:32Bani PTI
00:09:34will take the next step
00:09:36but see
00:09:38the real story is
00:09:40that Pakistan Tariq-e-Insaf
00:09:42has
00:09:44announced
00:09:46a five-member committee
00:09:48for negotiations
00:09:50it has been 4-5 days
00:09:52and we are seeing
00:09:54that the government
00:09:56is not doing anything
00:09:58and
00:10:00Pakistan Tariq-e-Insaf
00:10:02is repeatedly saying
00:10:04that you were saying
00:10:06that we are ready for negotiations
00:10:08but now
00:10:10you are not talking to us
00:10:12so now
00:10:14if the government does not
00:10:16negotiate
00:10:18then we will go towards
00:10:20civil disobedience
00:10:22there are many statements
00:10:24in politics
00:10:26like
00:10:28we will tear your trees
00:10:30we will do this and that
00:10:32I think
00:10:34all across the party
00:10:36but Khabar
00:10:38in a leaderless party
00:10:40this kind of
00:10:42action starts
00:10:44where we see that
00:10:46this is a pattern
00:10:48this started when Aleema Khan
00:10:50said that we will protest
00:10:52then Sanjani and D-Chowk
00:10:54there was confusion
00:10:56Barrister was giving statements
00:10:58so should we think
00:11:00that the people's party
00:11:02Pakistan Tariq-e-Insaf
00:11:04Ali Ameen Gandapur
00:11:06Zahira CMK
00:11:08they are distancing themselves
00:11:10from Bani's politics
00:11:12can we say that
00:11:14this is not for Pakistan Tariq-e-Insaf
00:11:16I will say that
00:11:18this is Pakistan Muslim League Noon
00:11:20so no one can distance themselves
00:11:22from Nawaz Sharif's thoughts
00:11:24or his decisions
00:11:26when it comes to Pakistan People's Party
00:11:28we cannot say that
00:11:30any party leader
00:11:32Murad Ali Shah
00:11:34will say that he is backing
00:11:36Bilawal Bhutto Zardari's decisions
00:11:38or we say that he is backing
00:11:40if he has to back
00:11:42we will not stay there for 5 minutes
00:11:44so this is the same
00:11:46in Pakistan Tariq-e-Insaf
00:11:48if they decide on Bani
00:11:50we can talk about it
00:11:52what is the right or wrong decision
00:11:54but KP's CM
00:11:56if he says
00:11:58or we comment on him
00:12:00that he is distancing himself
00:12:02we cannot see
00:12:04such a film
00:12:06yes, one reason
00:12:08which is very basic
00:12:10as you know, there is a gap
00:12:12different groups
00:12:14meet in different places
00:12:16and when
00:12:18every group meets
00:12:20in a different context
00:12:22the group
00:12:24has their own argument
00:12:26and Bani PTA
00:12:28gives their opinion
00:12:30and they express it
00:12:32so we feel that
00:12:34there is a lot of
00:12:36discrepancy
00:12:38in the party
00:12:40we are seeing
00:12:42some people
00:12:44as you have seen
00:12:46they are running away from arrests
00:12:48some are hiding
00:12:50some are in power
00:12:52as you have said
00:12:54in KP
00:12:56they have their own opinion
00:12:58but if Bani PTA
00:13:00has asked everyone
00:13:02to do this
00:13:04whether it is a success or failure
00:13:06whether it is a good or bad decision
00:13:08they will have to bow their heads
00:13:10I don't think
00:13:12that KP's CM will say no
00:13:14what are those issues?
00:13:16are there a lot of grievances?
00:13:18are there a lot of significant issues?
00:13:20people's party's chairman
00:13:22the senate
00:13:24is criticizing
00:13:26MQM has also come
00:13:28so what is this?
00:13:30are there any news related to this?
00:13:32or is this a temporary issue
00:13:34that will be sorted out?
00:13:36there are two points
00:13:38first
00:13:40can KP
00:13:42leave the government
00:13:44at any point
00:13:46they have agreed
00:13:48with them
00:13:50because without KP's support
00:13:52Shahbaz Sharif
00:13:54can't be the PM
00:13:56the answer to this
00:13:58is that they can't leave
00:14:00nor do they have the option
00:14:02the basic reason
00:14:04is that
00:14:06the agreement
00:14:08under which
00:14:10you have
00:14:12the leadership of Pakistan
00:14:14you have the deputy speaker
00:14:16of the national assembly
00:14:18you also have
00:14:20the chairman of the senate
00:14:22you also have two government
00:14:24of Balochistan and Sindh
00:14:26therefore
00:14:28it is not possible
00:14:30for them to leave
00:14:32and say that
00:14:34we are not supporting you
00:14:36because people are not supporting us
00:14:38they are trying
00:14:40to get a share
00:14:42in Punjab
00:14:44because
00:14:46they had an agreement
00:14:48to get some development funds
00:14:50some posting transfers
00:14:52they had to negotiate
00:14:54last week
00:14:56we took Nadeem Afzal Chahan
00:14:58and he told us
00:15:00that the basic agreement
00:15:02was that any big decision
00:15:04on the policy making
00:15:06level
00:15:08will be consulted
00:15:10by our party
00:15:12so they are not consulting us
00:15:14therefore it is a political statement
00:15:16I don't see
00:15:18and I don't think
00:15:20that the people's party
00:15:22should be separated from the government
00:15:24in the near future
00:15:26thank you so much
00:15:28Khawar was with us
00:15:30this morning
00:15:32we wanted to know
00:15:34what is happening
00:15:36in our capital city
00:15:38so you must have
00:15:40a good idea
00:15:42if the situation
00:15:44of the country is good
00:15:46then people
00:15:48don't have to
00:15:50go to another country
00:15:52and look for employment
00:15:54and people
00:15:56for a better future
00:15:58risk their lives
00:16:00and take such
00:16:02illegal
00:16:04and dangerous
00:16:06paths
00:16:08and sometimes
00:16:10they lose their lives
00:16:12or have to spend years
00:16:14in a detention center
00:16:16this is the southern island of Greece
00:16:18three ships of the
00:16:20Tariqeen-e-Batan
00:16:22were destroyed
00:16:24and the foreign office
00:16:26has confirmed that
00:16:28one Pakistani was killed
00:16:30and 47 were saved
00:16:32so this
00:16:34Pakistani
00:16:36more details
00:16:38are being told
00:16:40more information is being
00:16:42obtained
00:16:44according to the Greek coast guard
00:16:46most of the ships were
00:16:48Pakistani
00:16:50this happened
00:16:52in the beginning of this year
00:16:54more than 300 people
00:16:56were killed
00:16:58in that ship
00:17:00and people
00:17:02came from different
00:17:04countries
00:17:06according to the
00:17:08government
00:17:10the ships left
00:17:12Libya
00:17:14and entered
00:17:16Europe
00:17:18illegally
00:17:20Prime Minister
00:17:22Shahbaz Sharif and
00:17:24Interior Minister
00:17:26have expressed regret
00:17:28but this is a big issue
00:17:30and we should
00:17:32ask our government
00:17:34why so many Pakistanis
00:17:36take this path
00:17:38and we were told
00:17:40that the agents
00:17:42who send people
00:17:44will be cracked down
00:17:46smuggling is a
00:17:48heinous crime
00:17:50and in the future
00:17:52serious steps
00:17:54will be taken
00:17:56in Greece
00:17:58a special cell
00:18:00has been set up
00:18:02to help the Pakistanis
00:18:04one thing is
00:18:06the government's responsibility
00:18:08but one thing is your responsibility
00:18:10what if
00:18:12in the future
00:18:14you end up in a detention
00:18:16or jail
00:18:18and it may take years
00:18:20to get out
00:18:22or you may have to
00:18:24contact your country
00:18:26or the most dangerous
00:18:28thing is that
00:18:30you may lose your life
00:18:32and your family
00:18:34whom you went to
00:18:36support
00:18:38how did you
00:18:40leave them
00:18:42and if you think
00:18:44your situation will get better
00:18:46then try to follow
00:18:48the international law
00:18:50a lot of Pakistanis
00:18:52go to different countries
00:18:54Saudi Arabia, UAE
00:18:56earn a good living
00:18:58you can also take this path
00:19:00but don't put your family
00:19:02in this problem
00:19:04this was our small message
00:19:06from this platform
00:19:08and when incidents like this happen
00:19:10I don't know
00:19:12if the news will reach
00:19:14your family
00:19:16let's take a break
00:19:18and come back
00:19:24welcome back
00:19:26once again
00:19:28we have been highlighting this issue
00:19:30for a long time
00:19:32about the dacoits
00:19:34now their strategies
00:19:36are changing
00:19:38and the people
00:19:40they want to target
00:19:42are also changing
00:19:44dacoits in Kashmore
00:19:46have asked for
00:19:48alimony from a Chinese company
00:19:50what is their method
00:19:52we will tell you
00:19:54civil engineering construction corporation
00:19:56has written a letter
00:19:58to the government
00:20:00and has informed them
00:20:02about the situation
00:20:04in the letter
00:20:06a dacoit named Badal
00:20:08whatever his name
00:20:10has called the construction manager
00:20:12and asked for 50 lakh rupees
00:20:142 mobile phones and 1 motorcycle
00:20:16and the dacoit
00:20:18has threatened that
00:20:20if the demands are not fulfilled
00:20:22the workers will be harmed
00:20:24so this is very alarming
00:20:26the Chinese company
00:20:28has also warned the S.P. Kashmore and D.C. Kashmore
00:20:30and the company has said
00:20:32that the local authorities
00:20:34have failed to provide
00:20:36security
00:20:38so the first response
00:20:40should be
00:20:42that we have not received
00:20:44any response
00:20:46what is the situation
00:20:48and our international reputation
00:20:50is also at stake
00:20:52so let us talk about
00:20:54why this happened
00:20:56and how will we get the alimony
00:20:58we will talk to the chief reporter
00:21:00Lala Asad Pathan
00:21:02Lala Asad Pathan
00:21:04now he is so angry
00:21:06that the Pakistanis
00:21:08and the residents
00:21:10are targeting the Chinese company
00:21:12and are demanding
00:21:14and when the Chinese company
00:21:16contacts the local authorities
00:21:18they say that they have not received
00:21:20any response
00:21:22so what is your opinion
00:21:24on this situation
00:21:26Thank you Sadaf
00:21:28the real issue is
00:21:30that the people who stand against the government
00:21:32who are terrorists
00:21:34or dacoits
00:21:36who think they are superior to the law
00:21:38when they do not look at the government
00:21:40and when the government
00:21:42does not treat them
00:21:44properly
00:21:46then this happens
00:21:48we have talked a lot
00:21:50about this
00:21:52in your program
00:21:54and always tried to
00:21:56awaken the government
00:21:58that this is a big
00:22:00cancer
00:22:02and treatment is necessary
00:22:04when you
00:22:06in Sindh's heart
00:22:08there is Punjab on one side
00:22:10and Balochistan on the other
00:22:12and there is KP's area
00:22:14in the district of Kankot
00:22:16and in that area
00:22:18the number of dacoits
00:22:20who are around 100-125
00:22:22if they become a challenge
00:22:24for the government
00:22:26this is an alarming situation
00:22:28a few days ago
00:22:30in Sakhar, a Chinese company
00:22:32committed a robbery of 1 crore rupees
00:22:34this is another thing that
00:22:36the SSP of Sakhar
00:22:38has committed three robberies
00:22:40and one is still missing
00:22:42some money has been recovered
00:22:44but in the city of Sakhar
00:22:46which is the 3rd largest city of Sindh
00:22:48in the middle of the city
00:22:50there is a robbery
00:22:52they got trashed and killed
00:22:54this is a Chinese company
00:22:56this is a foreign company
00:22:58they wrote a letter
00:23:00and this created a hype
00:23:02there are many letters like this
00:23:04from local traders
00:23:06and industrialists
00:23:08on the basis of Delhi
00:23:10tell me one thing
00:23:12you have been covering this for a long time
00:23:14obviously we try to get
00:23:16information from you
00:23:18secondly you are aware of that area
00:23:20what are the conditions there
00:23:22you are aware of the situation
00:23:24this is a situation
00:23:26where someone is trapped
00:23:28kidnapped
00:23:30and it is very difficult
00:23:32to recover people
00:23:34but writing a letter
00:23:36and demanding
00:23:38this is a step ahead
00:23:40a step up
00:23:42so isn't the administration
00:23:44interested in this?
00:23:46the response they gave
00:23:48or is it really difficult
00:23:50to recover people?
00:23:52for one thing
00:23:54our administration
00:23:56has started this
00:23:58honey trap
00:24:00this honey trap is also
00:24:02related to kidnapping
00:24:04all these things start from there
00:24:06the government should see
00:24:08that this honey trap is not related to kidnapping
00:24:10people are not kidnapped and
00:24:12they are not kidnapped
00:24:14so this is an administration tactic
00:24:16that they always put the media on track
00:24:18so that no one goes there
00:24:20they are provoked
00:24:22and they go there
00:24:24and the administration
00:24:26is not serious about this
00:24:28because the administration is not ready
00:24:30to fight
00:24:32there are targeted operations
00:24:34at different places
00:24:36of police and rangers
00:24:38but as we have told you
00:24:40this is an area of 6.5 lakhs
00:24:42acres
00:24:44the operation should be done
00:24:46on one hand Sakhar police
00:24:48on the other hand Shikarpur
00:24:50and on the other hand Punjab police
00:24:52and Ghoti police
00:24:54all the stakeholders
00:24:56have been operated on a large scale?
00:24:58never
00:25:00we have never operated on a large scale
00:25:02they operate on a targeted basis
00:25:04they go to a place
00:25:06they don't live in urban areas
00:25:08they don't live in buildings
00:25:10they live in huts
00:25:12they have built their houses
00:25:14they move on boats
00:25:16they go to the other side of the river
00:25:18they go to other areas
00:25:20they travel on motorcycles
00:25:22is this a more difficult area than Swat?
00:25:24are there more difficult conditions
00:25:26that cannot be controlled from there?
00:25:28Swat and Waziristan
00:25:30are the most difficult areas
00:25:32because there are mountainous areas
00:25:34there are tunnels
00:25:36it is very difficult to operate there
00:25:38it is very easy
00:25:40but there is no stake
00:25:42the government does not have the power
00:25:44that the people who are being kidnapped
00:25:46the kidnapping is happening
00:25:48why are they silent?
00:25:50because they are not being kidnapped
00:25:52they are following the government protocol
00:25:54they are following their security
00:25:56the problem is for the common people
00:25:58the problem is for the common civilians
00:26:00the problem is for the common traders
00:26:02the problem is for the companies
00:26:04they are travelling here on a daily basis
00:26:06that is why
00:26:08the Minister of Internal Affairs
00:26:10has written a letter to the DG Rangers
00:26:12that the security should be provided
00:26:14immediately
00:26:16a Chinese company will get the security
00:26:18from the Rangers and the police
00:26:20but for the end of this disaster
00:26:22a compromise is needed
00:26:24tell me one more thing
00:26:26when the letter has been written to the government
00:26:28then what will the government do?
00:26:30the administration of the province
00:26:32will call for a compromise
00:26:34the administration of the province
00:26:36will call for a compromise
00:26:38what will the government do?
00:26:40the idea
00:26:42in 2004
00:26:44when the Pakistani
00:26:46weapons were shown
00:26:48the Sindh police
00:26:50bought heavy weapons
00:26:52and the sale has started
00:26:54but all these weapons
00:26:56will come
00:26:58even if the government does not have the will
00:27:00even if the police does not have the will
00:27:02even if the federal government does not have the will
00:27:04then the weapons will come
00:27:06there is no use
00:27:08you may remember
00:27:10when we broke the news on ARY
00:27:12the president of the country
00:27:14Mr. Asif Ali Zardari
00:27:16he gathered all the stakeholders
00:27:18all the intelligence agencies
00:27:20police, rangers
00:27:22and he gave a detailed briefing
00:27:24all the officers gave a detailed briefing
00:27:26on how we can do a targeted operation
00:27:28and how we can solve everything together
00:27:30but after that
00:27:32it was decided that there will be a grand operation
00:27:34till now there has been no grand operation
00:27:36let's do a targeted operation
00:27:38everything is on paper
00:27:40we are seeing the results
00:27:42because the results are telling us
00:27:44that it is not working
00:27:46as claimed
00:27:48thank you so much Lala Asad Pathan
00:27:50and hopefully this problem is sorted out
00:27:52and we don't have to face
00:27:54this kind of situation
00:27:56let's take a break
00:27:58Welcome back once again
00:28:00and we see
00:28:02especially in Zinda Dilan-e-Lahore
00:28:04sometimes
00:28:06very innovative ideas come
00:28:08and it is good
00:28:10it is said that such things should keep coming
00:28:12and people
00:28:14try to incorporate it
00:28:16so it is a news for the people of Lahore
00:28:18that now if you feel like drinking coffee
00:28:20and obviously
00:28:22the cold weather there
00:28:24so definitely people
00:28:26want to enjoy coffee
00:28:28especially in this weather
00:28:30so you can directly
00:28:32go to Modern Town Police Station
00:28:34but you don't have to be scared
00:28:36because the police
00:28:38will not bother you
00:28:40nor have you been called for an investigation
00:28:42but Punjab Police
00:28:44has decided that coffee will be provided to you
00:28:46so Punjab Police
00:28:48has opened a coffee shop for the people
00:28:50in the office of SDP Operations
00:28:52and its name is
00:28:54Red Culture Coffee
00:28:56so very interesting
00:28:58you can see the place
00:29:00it is a designated area
00:29:02people who are scared of police stations
00:29:04will drink coffee without hesitation
00:29:06let's see if people really take interest in it
00:29:08and for the people of Chandar Agha
00:29:10the doors of police stations
00:29:12will always be open
00:29:14so this is a welcoming gesture
00:29:16from Punjab Police
00:29:18but will people really take interest in it
00:29:20or not
00:29:22because obviously we have seen the location
00:29:24let's talk to
00:29:26ASP Defence Punjab Police
00:29:28Syeda Sheherbano Nafi
00:29:30thank you so much Sheherbano for joining us
00:29:32first of all tell us
00:29:34where did this idea come from
00:29:36it is very new
00:29:38and I would say daring
00:29:40maybe people are still scared
00:29:42and don't know what is going on
00:29:44why are they calling for coffee
00:29:46thank you so much for having me
00:29:48basically the idea
00:29:50since we
00:29:52took up the project
00:29:54that we have to replicate
00:29:56the model of special initiative police stations
00:29:58throughout Punjab
00:30:00we wanted to get into a joint venture
00:30:02where we encourage
00:30:04the private sector
00:30:06to use the police enterprises
00:30:08and infrastructure
00:30:10for service delivery
00:30:12the second reason to venture into this
00:30:14was that we wanted people
00:30:16to come to the police stations
00:30:18and see the recent renovations
00:30:20across Punjab
00:30:22interestingly Model Town
00:30:24which is the first police station
00:30:26in Punjab
00:30:28not only the front end
00:30:30but also the back end
00:30:32we have made super barracks
00:30:34where Nafi can stay
00:30:36so earlier
00:30:38only the front end was getting repaired
00:30:40so we took up this location
00:30:42to get into a joint venture
00:30:44with a coffee company
00:30:46their name is as interesting
00:30:48as our work
00:30:50considering deviants
00:30:52are associated with the police
00:30:54and they promoted a third culture
00:30:56so we wanted to come in collaboration
00:30:58with them
00:31:00we requested them to come
00:31:02and we will replace the police station culture
00:31:04with a third culture
00:31:06I was surprised to hear this name
00:31:08we have heard
00:31:10third degree torture
00:31:12third culture coffee is very unique
00:31:14its good that you clarified this
00:31:16but this term
00:31:18is similar to it
00:31:20how is the response so far?
00:31:22I think it has started
00:31:24I hope so
00:31:26when we started this
00:31:28we never wanted to make it public
00:31:30now people are getting to know
00:31:32interestingly it started
00:31:344 months ago
00:31:36we wanted to test
00:31:38the response
00:31:40people have been publicizing it
00:31:42on social media
00:31:44people go there
00:31:46considering the vicinity of model town
00:31:48there was no high end
00:31:50upscale coffee shop
00:31:52so that itself
00:31:54gives it an edge
00:31:56I remember
00:31:58there was a hotspot
00:32:00in Islamabad in a train box
00:32:02and everybody was more interested
00:32:04in the train box as opposed to the ice cream
00:32:06which was really good
00:32:08so we wanted to bring a very interesting coffee shop
00:32:10into the police station
00:32:12the response is very good
00:32:14now 4 months have passed
00:32:16and now we decided to make it public
00:32:18now we will tell the media
00:32:20that this has taken place
00:32:22and we will be doing such experiments more
00:32:24in Punjab
00:32:26tell me
00:32:28whenever such steps are taken
00:32:30it is not just that people get a welcoming gesture
00:32:32people's attitude also starts changing
00:32:34the gap
00:32:36starts reducing
00:32:38do you think
00:32:40this will not only affect the public
00:32:42which is a basic goal
00:32:44to end the fear of the police
00:32:46secondly
00:32:48the attitude of the police
00:32:50will also change
00:32:52the way they deal with the public
00:32:54this is a very good statement
00:32:56what you said holds true
00:32:58it holds water
00:33:00when people started coming to the police station
00:33:02initially
00:33:04the people on duty
00:33:06were hesitant
00:33:08now you see their faces smiling
00:33:10their demeanour has changed
00:33:12model town is
00:33:14an area where crime
00:33:16is negligible
00:33:18because of that
00:33:20their focus has shifted
00:33:22towards service delivery
00:33:24towards bridging that gap between the people
00:33:26you can see that
00:33:28people now go to the police station
00:33:30with permission
00:33:32to see how the jails are
00:33:34how is the SHO's room
00:33:36how to submit a request
00:33:38who is the seal
00:33:40who is the SHO
00:33:42what are their duties
00:33:44we are also disseminating information
00:33:46in a better way
00:33:48thank you so much
00:33:50you were with us
00:33:52there are always unique ideas
00:33:54you are behind it
00:33:56thank you so much for doing that
00:33:58secondly
00:34:00the way people are coming here
00:34:02when Sail comes
00:34:04his problem should be solved
00:34:06as per the law
00:34:08he should get relief
00:34:10he should not have to go through
00:34:12the traumatic experience
00:34:14of the police station
00:34:16there is a need for improvement
00:34:18which I think
00:34:20after such innovative ideas
00:34:22such things can also
00:34:24move forward
00:34:26let's talk about
00:34:28those who love books
00:34:30let's talk about them
00:34:32even if they don't
00:34:34and if they get interested
00:34:36because when such a
00:34:38literature festival or book fair
00:34:40is organized
00:34:42people also get interested
00:34:44and want to see what books are available
00:34:46sometimes children insist
00:34:48that let's buy books from there
00:34:50so in Karachi Expo Center
00:34:5219th International Book Fair
00:34:54was organized and today is the last day
00:34:56the last day is very interesting
00:34:58if you want a discount
00:35:00you can go there

00:37:18you can read all kinds of books
00:37:20you can read history, fiction
00:37:22you can read science related books
00:37:24but book should be interesting
00:37:26if a book is boring
00:37:28leave it
00:37:30you have to finish it
00:37:32never set a target
00:37:34a good book
00:37:36will attract your interest
00:37:38it will capture your interest

00:38:40today is 16th December
00:38:42and this date
00:38:4416th December
00:38:46when we realize
00:38:48what happened
00:38:5010 years ago
00:38:52it feels like yesterday
00:38:54and the day this incident
00:38:56was happening
00:38:58when it was reported on TV
00:39:00no one including me
00:39:02could have believed
00:39:04that such a blinding incident
00:39:06can happen
00:39:08no matter how big the terrorist
00:39:10how these innocent
00:39:12innocent children
00:39:14who are not enemies
00:39:16who did not harm anyone
00:39:18who just went to school
00:39:20to get education
00:39:22who are 6,7,12,10,14 years old
00:39:24these innocent children
00:39:26who were martyred
00:39:28mercilessly
00:39:30cannot forget that scene
00:39:32the blood, bloodshed
00:39:34the walls, the ground
00:39:36the halls
00:39:38the teachers were crying
00:39:40they cannot forget that scene
00:39:42I am talking about Saneha APS
00:39:44this incident happened in 2014
00:39:46and today in 2024
00:39:48when I am remembering this incident
00:39:50I don't have words
00:39:52to express my pain
00:39:54I still get goosebumps
00:39:56and I am surprised
00:39:58how these innocent children
00:40:00were martyred
00:40:02we can feel the pain of the whole nation
00:40:04when this incident happened
00:40:06everyone was united
00:40:08in the sense that
00:40:10people felt the pain
00:40:12of those mothers
00:40:14of those fathers
00:40:16of those teachers
00:40:18who went through this Saneha
00:40:20what happened in this incident
00:40:22the teachers and the children
00:40:24the numbers are very sad
00:40:26132 children
00:40:28and 150 people were martyred
00:40:30the information about the terrorists
00:40:32says that they got training
00:40:34from Pakistan
00:40:36and they were given
00:40:38firearms from Pakistan
00:40:40and we see that
00:40:42the land of Afghanistan
00:40:44was being used
00:40:46and there are still reports
00:40:48of terrorism
00:40:50the innocent citizens of Pakistan
00:40:52were targeted
00:40:54and we see that the people
00:40:56of Pakistan are still
00:40:58suffering from terrorism
00:41:00because today is the 10th anniversary
00:41:02of Saneha
00:41:04Sadr Asif Zardari said
00:41:06incidents like Saneha
00:41:08expose the reality of terrorism
00:41:10the people of Pakistan
00:41:12will never let the terrorists
00:41:14succeed
00:41:16and Saneha
00:41:18united us as a nation
00:41:20against terrorism
00:41:22let's end terrorism
00:41:24and work for a better Pakistan
00:41:26the Prime Minister
00:41:28said that Saneha
00:41:30children's lives
00:41:32their dreams
00:41:34their parents dreams
00:41:36and their future
00:41:38were snatched away from them
00:41:40the terrorists like
00:41:42Fitnatul Khabarit
00:41:44have nothing to do with religion
00:41:46and the whole nation
00:41:48is united against
00:41:50these terrorists
00:41:52like a wall
00:41:54I don't know
00:41:56how to move forward
00:41:58with hope
00:42:00and sympathy
00:42:02that the land of Pakistan
00:42:04should always be safe
00:42:06let's move forward with this prayer
00:42:08our segment
00:42:10is very interesting
00:42:12we are seeing a lot of weather changes
00:42:14and a lot of problems
00:42:16without season
00:42:18it rains
00:42:20floods
00:42:22will come in large numbers
00:42:24this has also been reported
00:42:26and of course
00:42:28due to weather changes
00:42:30the phenomena are changing
00:42:32similarly we are seeing
00:42:34food scarcity
00:42:36why is it happening?
00:42:38because in the season
00:42:40when the crops are not ready
00:42:42when it doesn't rain
00:42:44and when the crops are ready
00:42:46and then it rains
00:42:48how to manage the farmers
00:42:50is very difficult
00:42:52now many countries
00:42:54are using this technology
00:42:56to control food scarcity
00:42:58in Swat
00:43:00a research institute
00:43:02without soil and air
00:43:04succeeded in growing vegetables
00:43:06how is this possible?
00:43:08because without this
00:43:10you can't grow vegetables
00:43:12now it has been said
00:43:14that in very few places
00:43:16vegetables can be grown
00:43:18in plastic pipes and buckets
00:43:20in which spinach, cauliflower, eggplant, green chilies
00:43:22this technology is mostly used
00:43:24in the production of leafy vegetables
00:43:26and the good thing is
00:43:28that even in houses
00:43:30citizens can use this technology
00:43:32to grow vegetables
00:43:34let's talk about it
00:43:36with us is the director of Agriculture Research Institute
00:43:38Dr. Roshan Ali
00:43:40thank you so much for joining us
00:43:42we know that science
00:43:44technology and science
00:43:46have given new ideas
00:43:48and with the help of technology
00:43:50without soil and air
00:43:52how can a plant grow?
00:43:54please shed some light on this
00:44:04this technology
00:44:06that we have started
00:44:08is not a new technology
00:44:10in the outside world
00:44:12in the middle east
00:44:14this technology is being used
00:44:16we have introduced it
00:44:18this technology
00:44:20without soil
00:44:22in buckets and pipes
00:44:24we grow plants
00:44:26especially
00:44:28leafy vegetables
00:44:30we put a solution in it
00:44:32that solution
00:44:34we have installed an automatic system
00:44:36with it
00:44:38in one hour
00:44:40it is on for 10 minutes
00:44:42and it is off for 50 minutes
00:44:44it is on for only 10 minutes
00:44:46this water
00:44:48the nutrients
00:44:50that the plant needs
00:44:52we put it in it
00:44:54it goes up and gets recycled
00:44:56and
00:44:58the roots of leafy vegetables
00:45:00they need their water
00:45:02and food from it
00:45:04so in this
00:45:06it is cost effective
00:45:08it is very inexpensive
00:45:10and it has clean water
00:45:12because the vegetables we eat
00:45:14we use this
00:45:16water
00:45:18that has dirt
00:45:20especially heavy metals
00:45:22so we can use this clean water
00:45:24we use less water
00:45:26and it is clean
00:45:28so the vegetables
00:45:30that we produce
00:45:32are good for health
00:45:34and these days
00:45:36the soil is getting less
00:45:38so one more benefit of this
00:45:40is that people
00:45:42can easily install this system
00:45:44on the terrace
00:45:46so I wanted to ask you
00:45:48that
00:45:50the footage that we are seeing
00:45:52is that on a large scale
00:45:54people must have been appointed
00:45:56there will be staff
00:45:58who will take care of everything
00:46:00there will be a whole process
00:46:02but if a person wants to do it
00:46:04in his house, balcony, terrace, garden
00:46:06then first of all
00:46:08what all things will he need
00:46:10and how soon can he get the result
00:46:12what can be the expectation
00:46:20actually
00:46:22it is like
00:46:26actually
00:46:28the tunnel that we have made
00:46:30it is not necessary
00:46:32you can do it on the terrace
00:46:34you can grow the vegetables
00:46:36in the season
00:46:38and it is very inexpensive
00:46:40you just need a bucket
00:46:42and a pipe
00:46:44and a small motor
00:46:46which is connected to the cooler
00:46:48and a timer
00:46:50you can set the timer
00:46:52you can keep it on
00:46:54for as long as you want
00:46:56and here
00:46:58we are doing
00:47:00different research
00:47:02so
00:47:04we keep it on for 10 minutes
00:47:06and we keep it off for 50 minutes
00:47:08so we need these 4 things
00:47:10and it is very inexpensive
00:47:12it is locally
00:47:14available
00:47:16we have designed it
00:47:18and the solution we need
00:47:20we have worked on it
00:47:22for the investors
00:47:24for the interested people
00:47:26if they come here
00:47:28we can give them training
00:47:30and they can easily
00:47:32get fresh vegetables
00:47:34and they can easily
00:47:36grow it on their terrace
00:47:38and balcony
00:47:40but you will recommend
00:47:42to people to do this
00:47:44at their homes
00:47:46secondly
00:47:48tell us
00:47:50why only the vegetable with leaves
00:47:52and does it change the taste
00:47:54of the vegetables
00:47:56these vegetables
00:47:58with leaves
00:48:00we can do it
00:48:02we can grow
00:48:04tomatoes
00:48:06brinjals
00:48:08and other vegetables
00:48:10so
00:48:12for this
00:48:14the diameter of the pipe
00:48:16should be big
00:48:18so that the roots
00:48:20inside
00:48:22the solution
00:48:24can reach the roots
00:48:26so we can do that
00:48:28and farmers
00:48:30can do it
00:48:32because the thing we need
00:48:34is available in the local market
00:48:36we just need training
00:48:38and we can give it here
00:48:40but we need air
00:48:42for the solution
00:48:44because how will it grow
00:48:46in such a controlled environment
00:48:48this is not a controlled environment
00:48:50this big pipe
00:48:52is hollow from inside
00:48:54so we put the cup
00:48:56in this
00:48:58and we grow the nursery
00:49:00in this foam
00:49:02we put the foam in this
00:49:04so air comes in this
00:49:06it doesn't close like this
00:49:08so the roots get the air
00:49:10and if
00:49:12someone wants to make it bigger
00:49:14so
00:49:16it grows
00:49:18so if we spray it from above
00:49:20it grows very fast
00:49:22so it is possible
00:49:24indoor
00:49:26but
00:49:28we need sunlight, air, light, water
00:49:30but you are saying
00:49:32that it can be done indoor
00:49:34yes
00:49:36it gets air
00:49:38from outside
00:49:40and the water in the bucket
00:49:42we put the fertilizer in it
00:49:44so the fertilizer gets recycled
00:49:46but the advantage is that
00:49:48very less water is used
00:49:50because nowadays water shortage is coming
00:49:52and that is clean
00:49:54if there is 15 liters of water in a bucket
00:49:56it can last for 2 months
00:49:58so
00:50:00we can grow it very easily
00:50:02thank you so much
00:50:04Dr. Roshan Ali was with us
00:50:06and his point is
00:50:08that in different countries
00:50:10this technology is being used
00:50:12this method is being adopted
00:50:14which is cost effective
00:50:16so let's see
00:50:18what we will see in the future
00:50:20how the policies move forward
00:50:22and how it is implemented
00:50:24let's share one more information
00:50:26and that is
00:50:28all Muslims
00:50:30wish to
00:50:32at least once in their life
00:50:34get the blessings of Hajj
00:50:36so the government has announced
00:50:38the Hajj policy
00:50:40and what is this year's policy
00:50:42let's tell you
00:50:44some new rules
00:50:46have been added
00:50:48according to the government
00:50:50the Hajj quota has been kept
00:50:5250-50%
00:50:54children under the age of 12
00:50:56will not be able to go to Hajj
00:50:58for a quarter of a year
00:51:00due to various diseases
00:51:02but for the pilgrims
00:51:04the Hajj payment system has been introduced
00:51:06because there are a lot of expenses
00:51:08so in the proper installment
00:51:10you can spend the expenses
00:51:12next year
00:51:14more than 189,000
00:51:16pilgrims will be able to
00:51:18get the blessings of Hajj
00:51:20and the expenses are
00:51:2210,76,000 to 11,76,000
00:51:24which can be paid
00:51:26in the installment
00:51:28we have with us
00:51:30the translator of the Ministry of Religious Affairs
00:51:32Mr. Muhammad Umar
00:51:34thank you so much Mr. Umar
00:51:36I have told some changes
00:51:38but if you think I have missed something
00:51:40which is important to know
00:51:42please let me know
00:51:44thank you very much
00:51:46for the introduction
00:51:48of the Hajj payment system
00:51:50and these are the things
00:51:52and the special thing
00:51:54is that we were paying
00:51:56in one hour
00:51:58we have asked for the payment
00:52:00and also
00:52:02the purchases are going on
00:52:04in Saudi Arabia
00:52:06food, accommodation, transport
00:52:08offices, etc
00:52:10there is a committee
00:52:12which has started the purchases
00:52:14we will ask for the third installment
00:52:16in the beginning of February
00:52:18and we will get to know
00:52:20how much is our package
00:52:22so that we can take the extra money
00:52:24because the ministry is based on
00:52:26no profit, no loss
00:52:28and provides these facilities
00:52:30to the pilgrims
00:52:32and the second thing
00:52:34as you have told
00:52:36Saudi Arabia also
00:52:38brings a lot of improvement
00:52:40every year
00:52:42we are also having
00:52:44Zoom meetings
00:52:46we also have a directorate
00:52:48so the facilities
00:52:50of the offices
00:52:52we have asked
00:52:54for the facilities
00:52:56as soon as possible
00:52:58because if we do the purchases
00:53:00as soon as possible
00:53:02we will be able to plan
00:53:04Umar, please tell us
00:53:06the age limit
00:53:08for children under 12
00:53:10what is the reason behind this?
00:53:14the reason behind this
00:53:16is that
00:53:18for the last 2-3 years
00:53:20and for the next 5-6 years
00:53:22the Hajj will be
00:53:24in hot weather
00:53:26and the vulnerable
00:53:28children are innocent
00:53:30and also
00:53:32they are increasing the number
00:53:34of children
00:53:36because it is a Nafli Hajj
00:53:38and also because of the hot weather
00:53:40and also
00:53:42the people who are
00:53:44suffering from chronic diseases
00:53:46have also been restricted
00:53:48so the reason behind this
00:53:50is that it is a hot weather
00:53:52and they should be protected
00:53:54so in the next 2-4 years
00:53:56or after 5 years
00:53:58we will be able to
00:54:00restrict the Hajj
00:54:02you have mentioned
00:54:04that the Hajj
00:54:06for the elderly
00:54:08what will be the arrangements for them?
00:54:10because most of the Pakistanis
00:54:12who go as a government
00:54:14they have to face a lot of difficulties
00:54:18the 5 days of Hajj
00:54:20because it is such an obligatory worship
00:54:22it is the longest worship
00:54:24and
00:54:26it has the most expenses
00:54:28and
00:54:30thirdly, physically
00:54:32it requires the most effort
00:54:34and also
00:54:36it is an open area
00:54:38like Mina's tent
00:54:40where you won't find
00:54:42a building like environment
00:54:44and in Arafat
00:54:46there are big canopies
00:54:48and in Muzdafa
00:54:50you have to spend the night
00:54:52under the open sky
00:54:54and also
00:54:56the shades have been arranged
00:54:58but the precautionary measures
00:55:00from the Saudi government
00:55:02when the Hajj started in the summer
00:55:04they decided
00:55:06the time of Rami
00:55:08and last year
00:55:10we saw that the time of Rami
00:55:12is after Zawal
00:55:14but the Saudi government
00:55:16said that you should go
00:55:18after 4pm for Rami
00:55:20in the same way, in Mina and Arafat
00:55:22your regular week
00:55:24they did it in the middle of the night
00:55:26from sunset
00:55:28till Fajr and 9-10am
00:55:30we suggest
00:55:32the poor people
00:55:34to stay with their family
00:55:36and go with them
00:55:38if they need a wheelchair
00:55:40they can take it
00:55:42because the family
00:55:44can take care of them
00:55:46their children can go with them
00:55:48Thank you so much
00:55:50Mr. Umar Bhatt
00:55:52for clarifying everything
00:55:54Thank you

00:59:16he won't get any such complaint
00:59:18but he is trying to find
00:59:20these two people
00:59:22so that an action can be taken against them
00:59:24ok thank you very much
00:59:26lets take a break and come back
00:59:34welcome back once again
00:59:36lets take you back to our childhood
00:59:38kids are very fond of cartoons
00:59:40kids are very fond of cartoons
00:59:42Tom and Jerry, Pink Panther
00:59:44these type of cartoons used to come
00:59:46and its time was also very limited
00:59:48so we used to sit and watch
00:59:50those episodes daily
00:59:52missed it
00:59:54and our day was not good
00:59:56but now many innovations
00:59:58have come with time
01:00:00animation films are very popular
01:00:02they are in high demand internationally
01:00:04they are in high demand internationally
01:00:06animation film industry is
01:00:08moving forward in Pakistan
01:00:10It is being said that the animation industry in the world is worth more than 28 billion dollars.
01:00:16Pakistani film makers are also taking a step forward, which is very good.
01:00:21And some Pakistani film makers are providing good animation films to Pakistan with the help of international partners.
01:00:28So with this in mind, today I would like to welcome our two distinguished guests,
01:00:34Silas Boseki, I hope the pronunciation is correct.
01:00:38Thank you so much for joining us.
01:00:41Thank you Imran for being with us.
01:00:43And it's an honor to have you both with me today and your innovative work is very inspiring.
01:00:49And I look forward to hearing more about your experiences and the future projects.
01:00:54So thank you so much once again.
01:00:56Silas, I would like to ask the first question to you.
01:00:59What motivated you to come to Pakistan and to actually, you know, step in this kind of industry?
01:01:06Do you see there's a lot of potential and talent in animation industry in Pakistan?
01:01:11Yes, I think there's enormous potential here.
01:01:14We've just done a tour of Pakistan. This is the second time I've been to Pakistan.
01:01:19This trip we went to Lahore as well as Karachi.
01:01:23My first trip here we went to Islamabad.
01:01:25So I've got a pretty good idea of the level of talent that exists here.
01:01:29There's extremely good, as you'd expect, there's extremely talented CGI,
01:01:34which is like computer generated animation practitioners in small studios, individual creators, etc.
01:01:41But more interestingly, I think, for us is the fact that there's also a lot of creators that are very, very skilled at 2D animation.
01:01:49The kind of animation that you might see in old Disney or Warner Brothers cartoons,
01:01:53which is something that is potentially, is kind of what we like to say is future proof.
01:01:58So it doesn't age or date. It always has this kind of beautiful tactility to it.
01:02:05And that's why Warner Brothers and Disney cartoons just can keep going, you know.
01:02:09So there is people that can do that here very, very well, which is very, very rare.
01:02:13And that's something that we're really impressed by.
01:02:15And do you believe that currently Pakistan has a large enough audience for animation films in terms of children and adults audience?
01:02:24It's got a very interesting demographic.
01:02:26I'm from Japan, so we've got an aging population here.
01:02:29I believe 60% of your population is kids, basically, or teenagers.
01:02:34It's a much younger demographic here.
01:02:37So in terms of kids entertainment, I think that there's enormous potential here.
01:02:43But as you pointed out, it's not a huge market.
01:02:45But I think that the stories and the characters here really have international potential for export potential.
01:02:53And I think that the characters and stories from Pakistan, I think, can resonate with international audiences.
01:02:59And that's what we're going to be creating in some of the shows that we're developing right now,
01:03:03is local stories with comic universals that can potentially work elsewhere in the world.
01:03:08For example, EMEA, for example, the Middle East, not just Pakistan.
01:03:12And that's what really excites us about this.
01:03:14And Imran, what kind of animation films are being produced in Pakistan?
01:03:18And secondly, what do you see for the future of the industry here?
01:03:22Pakistani industry animation has a very vast history.
01:03:26If you start looking from animation, the first Pakistani animated short came with Netflix original.
01:03:32Then we had, if you look at Kids Land, a YouTube channel which has 2 billion views right now,
01:03:39an animated studio based out of Karachi.
01:03:41Then we look at Third World Studios based out of Islamabad,
01:03:44which is globally the first movie made on Unreal Engine.
01:03:50The first one.
01:03:53Then we have studios like Moonshot Animation, we have Sharper Beach,
01:03:57Ice Animation, who have been doing work primarily for the North American market,
01:04:03which means the quality exists.
01:04:05But the thing, what we want to do is…
01:04:10I think it's because of the weather.
01:04:12Yes, we are both under the weather, having a big road show.
01:04:17So the beauty of this partnership is that we want to tell local stories,
01:04:20regional stories for the global market.
01:04:22And that's why this kind of international partnership is so important.
01:04:24Okay.
01:04:25So, like, you know, you can speak in English for your audience.
01:04:30Tell us a little bit about the commercial perspective, the business perspective.
01:04:35Do you invest more there?
01:04:37I think we should drink some water.
01:04:38No, no, it's fine.
01:04:39We try to invest more there,
01:04:42where there is potential from a business perspective, a commercial perspective.
01:04:46Do you think there is potential here,
01:04:48or do you think the message, the social important issues matter more?
01:04:53Look, the first thing is that we are here to entertain children.
01:04:59And we want to take our stories, regional stories, Pakistan's stories,
01:05:03to the global market.
01:05:05Because of which our history of animation studios is very good.
01:05:08And the potential of Pakistan's stories is not just for Pakistan's consumption.
01:05:14It is for global consumption.
01:05:16We also want, like the kids here are watching Tom and Jerry's show,
01:05:19our stories, our regional stories,
01:05:22not just Pakistan's, but South Asia, Middle East, and Northern Africa,
01:05:26our stories, how can we take them to the global market.
01:05:30And that's why Silas' company, Custom Nuts of Baboon Animation,
01:05:33a company in New York,
01:05:34along with our company, ASCOP Entertainment,
01:05:36we have also made an office here,
01:05:39that we should have a presence,
01:05:40where these people come and work with local talent.
01:05:43Okay, so what kind of collaboration it is?
01:05:46Like, do you plan to incorporate traditional Pakistani cultures and stories
01:05:52into animation film you're working on right now?
01:05:55Yeah, that is the plan.
01:05:56And we're in development right now.
01:05:57We have a very famous character who's very recognised in Pakistan.
01:06:01For instance, which character?
01:06:03Can we say that?
01:06:04It's a bit of a secret right now.
01:06:05We're working on an adaption of Ibn Battuta.
01:06:12You know the character Ibn Battuta?
01:06:13Ibn Battuta.
01:06:14Yeah, so we're making a comedy adventure of Ibn Battuta
01:06:17that we believe will resonate right across the region,
01:06:23as well as it could potentially work,
01:06:25because of, as I've mentioned before,
01:06:27because we're incorporating this kind of physical humour into this,
01:06:30we also believe this could work in North America,
01:06:33as well as EMEA Europe.
01:06:36So perhaps it can go beyond Pakistan and the Middle East.
01:06:43And we're really good at that too, by the way.
01:06:45We've always created content with the aim of,
01:06:48because we work in the APAC region, the Asia-Pacific region,
01:06:52it's such an ethnically diverse region.
01:06:55We've got like 17 different languages we need to dub our content into.
01:06:58So the shows that we make really do need to be able to cross borders
01:07:01and export very, very easily.
01:07:02So we're really good at making content that travels.
01:07:04And that's the kind of those methods and techniques we use to do that.
01:07:08We will be deploying on this Ibn Battuta show that we're making.
01:07:11So, cat's out of the bag now, yeah.
01:07:13It was secret.
01:07:15When you work with international companies,
01:07:18do you face any kind of challenges or how do you overcome that?
01:07:22Well, we just need to be, yeah,
01:07:25I mean, we need to be very culturally sensitive
01:07:27and we need to be sensitive to local customs.
01:07:30We need to make sure that we have local experts working within our team.
01:07:36So every single cartoon show that we make in the Asia-Pacific region,
01:07:42whether it be some other part of South Asia or Thailand or Pakistan,
01:07:46we always have local experts working with us,
01:07:50animators, writers, musicians.
01:07:52So it's not just me and Imran working on these shows.
01:07:56Because, I mean, I live in Tokyo, I don't live in Pakistan,
01:07:59so I need people on the ground here that are experts
01:08:01at the kind of methods and techniques and storytelling that these shows incorporate.
01:08:06Otherwise, it just doesn't work.
01:08:08Definitely.
01:08:09Imran, Pakistani youth, they are in large numbers.
01:08:13They are, you know, looking forward to have a kind of stable job.
01:08:18Otherwise, people are trying to go abroad.
01:08:21How much scope is there in this industry?
01:08:23Look, there is a lot of scope.
01:08:25When we talk about animation, we always say that we are making cartoons.
01:08:29Why are you wasting your time on cartoons?
01:08:32So the animation industry is a very big industry in Pakistan.
01:08:35As I told you, there are many studios in Pakistan
01:08:37that are invoicing millions of dollars
01:08:40and employing hundreds of people.
01:08:43And their salaries are good and their benefits are good.
01:08:47Secondly, there is such a skill set in Pakistan
01:08:49that they can work with freelancers as well.
01:08:53Fiverr, Upwork.
01:08:55There are a lot of venues where they work.
01:08:57This is such a skill set where you need less education and more skills.
01:09:02So anybody can be in that profession.
01:09:04And as far as silence is concerned,
01:09:06what scope do we have in Pakistan,
01:09:08we are going to universities.
01:09:10In fact, after this, we are going to MITE University.
01:09:13We are doing workshops there.
01:09:14We are doing talent hunt.
01:09:16We were at the National College of Arts in Lahore.
01:09:20We have been to several universities.
01:09:22Yesterday, we were at the thesis of Karachi University.
01:09:26We met students there.
01:09:28So we are going to be recruiting local talent,
01:09:30especially concept artists, storyboard artists.
01:09:33And the interesting thing is that
01:09:35Silas and his partners,
01:09:37who are in L.A., Hollywood, and Burbank,
01:09:39together with them,
01:09:41we are doing a 180-hour training,
01:09:43which will be a virtual training
01:09:45for the creative community of Pakistan.
01:09:48So we are trying to give good things
01:09:50that are happening in Hollywood
01:09:52to the Pakistanis here
01:09:54through virtual training courses
01:09:56for Pakistani youth and for Pakistani creative community.
01:09:59It looks like you guys have been doing a lot of work here.
01:10:02And I hope this will turn out very good
01:10:04for Pakistanis and the industry as well.
01:10:07Inshallah.
01:10:08Thank you so much, Silas.
01:10:09Thank you so much.
01:10:10Thank you for having this opportunity.
01:10:11We really appreciate it.
01:10:13Yes.
01:10:14So as you saw,
01:10:15the industry will grow in a great way.
01:10:17Let's see.
01:10:18And very good films have been produced so far.
01:10:21And the Pakistani youth
01:10:24can take a lot of advantage of this industry.
01:10:27So there is a lot of scope here.
01:10:29And a lot of creativity.
01:10:30Your skills will be enhanced in this.
01:10:33And you will also get to learn something new.
01:10:35Let's move on now
01:10:37and talk about those heroes of the society.
01:10:40Let's talk about real heroes
01:10:42whose name is not taken.
01:10:44When we take names,
01:10:46we take the names of those who are familiar,
01:10:48who have TV appearances,
01:10:50or who are in some films.
01:10:52But there are some people
01:10:54who are the backbone of your country.
01:10:56Who is the backbone of the economy of Pakistan?
01:10:58The farmers.
01:10:59Whenever we talk about the farmers,
01:11:01we say that they have faced difficulties.
01:11:04But in our lives,
01:11:06in the lives of each individual,
01:11:08their contribution to the economy of this country,
01:11:10cannot be ignored.
01:11:12It is because of them.
01:11:14The farmer is the person
01:11:16because of whom flour, lentils, rice, sugar,
01:11:18and the basic basic things related to life,
01:11:21affect us.
01:11:23But we never remember him.
01:11:25We don't celebrate his day.
01:11:27We don't praise him.
01:11:28We don't mention him.
01:11:29So we, the farmer brothers,
01:11:31who are working hard day and night,
01:11:32tell about them,
01:11:33whether the weather is cold, hot,
01:11:35rain, storm, storm.
01:11:37They work hard
01:11:39to prepare the crop and send it forward.
01:11:41So we will talk about
01:11:43the export of Pakistan,
01:11:45on which there is a lot of focus at the moment.
01:11:47About the Pakistani government,
01:11:48that the more we export,
01:11:50the more we will get revenue from abroad.
01:11:52The biggest role is of the farmers.
01:11:54And Fatima Fertilizer Group,
01:11:56like every year,
01:11:57is celebrating the Farmer's Day this year as well.
01:12:00It is being done on behalf of them.
01:12:01The purpose of which is
01:12:02to promote the services of the farmers
01:12:03at every level.
01:12:05We have with us,
01:12:06Director of Marketing and Sales,
01:12:08Fatima Fertilizer,
01:12:09Rabeel Sardzoi Sahiba,
01:12:11who has extensive experience in sales and marketing.
01:12:13Thank you so much, Fatima, for joining me.
01:12:15First of all, tell me,
01:12:17I tried to tell the viewers,
01:12:19that the farmers are neglected a lot,
01:12:22their demands,
01:12:24and they work in very difficult conditions.
01:12:26How did you get the idea
01:12:28to celebrate their day,
01:12:29and why should we celebrate this day?
01:12:31Tell us this importance as well.
01:12:33Yes, thank you.
01:12:34Thank you for having me on your show.
01:12:36You are absolutely right.
01:12:38In your introduction,
01:12:39you mentioned the importance of the farmers.
01:12:41But I think,
01:12:42in our society,
01:12:44or your viewers,
01:12:46actually,
01:12:48the importance of agriculture or the farmers
01:12:50is so high.
01:12:51It is known in detail,
01:12:53but not in detail.
01:12:55So, I would like to talk on that first.
01:12:57You must have heard,
01:12:59and we have also heard since childhood,
01:13:01that the backbone of Pakistan's economy
01:13:03is agriculture,
01:13:06If you do it in quantifiable terms,
01:13:10then Pakistan's agriculture contributes 24% in GDP,
01:13:15which amounts to Rs. 25,000 billion.
01:13:18Not only this,
01:13:20Pakistan's agriculture gives 37% employment
01:13:23to the people in our rural community.
01:13:27And if you look at its overall component,
01:13:30then 65% of our export,
01:13:34from where we earn foreign exchange,
01:13:39comes from agriculture-related industries.
01:13:43So, if you look at its overview,
01:13:46then agriculture is very critical for our country.
01:13:50But when we saw that
01:13:52with so much criticality,
01:13:56there is no importance of the farmers,
01:13:58no one talks about the farmers,
01:14:00there is no platform for the farmers.
01:14:02This is where Fatima Fertilizer took this initiative,
01:14:05that on December 18, 2019,
01:14:09we declared Farmers' Day.
01:14:12We thought that there should be a platform
01:14:15where all stakeholders come and discuss
01:14:20the issues of farmers,
01:14:22the problems of our farmers brothers and sisters,
01:14:26what they face,
01:14:27and policymakers should address those problems
01:14:31and make policies to make it easier for them.
01:14:35Okay, tell me one thing,
01:14:37how important is the farmer-agriculture community
01:14:40to Pakistan and to us?
01:14:42Secondly, this community,
01:14:44does it include the farmer brothers?
01:14:46Do they have a role?
01:14:47Do they know?
01:14:48Do they have an understanding of this community?
01:14:50Yes, of course.
01:14:51Community is a platform.
01:14:53It is very important to highlight the importance of something
01:14:57in the society,
01:14:59it is very important to talk about it,
01:15:01to build a narrative, a discourse.
01:15:03And this is what we have been trying to do for so many years,
01:15:07that all stakeholders,
01:15:09whether it is the government,
01:15:10whether it is private companies,
01:15:13whether it is our farmers brothers and sisters,
01:15:15come together and celebrate a day,
01:15:18and understand the importance of that day,
01:15:20not only the rural communities,
01:15:21but also the urban communities,
01:15:23that where does our food come from?
01:15:28And how difficult it is for our farmers brothers and sisters
01:15:32to grow crops,
01:15:34and the food comes to our table.
01:15:37This is very important,
01:15:39as a community, as a country,
01:15:42that we need to talk about these issues.
01:15:44Okay, and when we talk about the economy,
01:15:47we say that the farmers are the backbone,
01:15:49our farmers brothers and sisters.
01:15:51But when they have demands,
01:15:54or when they have to solve some of their problems,
01:15:57we forget about them.
01:15:58First of all, tell me,
01:16:00what is the role of the farmers in the economy of Pakistan?
01:16:04How can we help them improve their situation?
01:16:09In your country, there are 8.2 million farmers,
01:16:13who run this entire economy.
01:16:17Your main vegetables are wheat, rice, sugarcane, maize, cotton.
01:16:24The influx of main crops in your country,
01:16:30is brought to you by your farmers.
01:16:33But no one talks about their problems.
01:16:35If I tell you about their problems,
01:16:38then there is a problem of yield per acre in our country.
01:16:41Our farmers brothers and sisters struggle against this.
01:16:45Impact of climate change.
01:16:48There is a lot of talk about climate change,
01:16:50but there is no research in our country,
01:16:53on how to combat climate change,
01:16:58with our farmers brothers and sisters.
01:17:01For example, there is no research on resilient seeds for cotton.
01:17:08Cotton is a very important crop for us.
01:17:11There is no talk of water scarcity.
01:17:14There is no talk of imbalanced use of fertilizer.
01:17:17There is very limited R&D in our country.
01:17:20As I told you, how critical this industry is for Pakistan.
01:17:27There is no R&D at all.
01:17:29Our farmers brothers and sisters are told about new methods,
01:17:33which are available in the rest of the world,
01:17:35so that their yield per acre increases.
01:17:38Similarly, access to finance,
01:17:41is also very limited for our farmers brothers and sisters.
01:17:45These are big problems.
01:17:47Another problem is the unstable commodity market.
01:17:49When they don't know,
01:17:51what will be the price of their crop,
01:17:55what will be the price in the future.
01:17:58There are a lot of difficulties,
01:18:00on which we have to talk to all stakeholders,
01:18:03and bring solutions.
01:18:05What role can Fatma Fertilizer play in this?
01:18:08What is your initiative?
01:18:11We have dedicated Salam Kisan to the farmers of Pakistan on December 18.
01:18:20We want all stakeholders in this country to come and talk about this.
01:18:26We organize regional events.
01:18:28We have done 30 mega-seminars across Punjab,
01:18:40where we have educated farmers,
01:18:43on how they can improve their yield,
01:18:46improve their practices,
01:18:48and what improvements they can bring for their crop.
01:18:51When all relevant people of the society,
01:18:55will talk about this,
01:18:57discuss this,
01:18:58and bring solutions,
01:19:00only then will there be improvement in this segment.
01:19:02Do you have a message,
01:19:04or an issue that you think needs to be solved on an emergency basis?
01:19:10Yes, climate change.
01:19:12The impact of climate change is on our crops.
01:19:16As you can see,
01:19:18rain,
01:19:20non-seasonal rain,
01:19:21flooding,
01:19:22and more heat, more cold.
01:19:26For this, farmers' education is very important.
01:19:29What can they do for their crops,
01:19:31for their yield?
01:19:34There is no research in our country on this.
01:19:38There is no talk in our country,
01:19:40from policy makers,
01:19:42on how to combat this.
01:19:44I think,
01:19:45it is very important,
01:19:47that as policy makers,
01:19:49we need to take a look at what we need to do,
01:19:51to combat the impact of climate change on agriculture.
01:19:55Thank you so much, Rabel.
01:19:57You were with us,
01:19:58and you highlighted a very important issue.
01:19:59Research is very important,
01:20:01and research that has been conducted around the world,
01:20:03can also be used.
01:20:05We will have to come up with an out-of-the-box solution,
01:20:07because this is what our climate change situation requires.
01:20:11Can we adopt traditional methods,
01:20:14or will we have to adopt a new system,
01:20:17such as our environment,
01:20:19such as our climate?
01:20:21When we were talking,
01:20:25we were talking about farmers.
01:20:28These are the farmers,
01:20:30because of whom,
01:20:31as Rabel was saying earlier,
01:20:34we can easily make food at home,
01:20:36take it out on a plate and eat it.
01:20:38But the way the food is prepared,
01:20:42and the hard work behind it,
01:20:44this is very important.
01:20:46Let me talk about jaggery as well,
01:20:48because it is winter,
01:20:49and the demand for jaggery is also increasing.
01:20:51The Pakistani jaggery made from dry fruits,
01:20:53in Liaquatpur,
01:20:55is not only in demand in Pakistan,
01:20:57but also internationally,
01:20:59a lot of people order it.
01:21:01In fact, jaggery is also sent abroad,
01:21:03to different cities.
01:21:05Asim Umtaz is telling us more about this.
01:21:35Jaggery is made from dry fruits,
01:21:37such as cashews, almonds, pistachios,
01:21:39walnuts, raisins, dates, peanuts,
01:21:41chickpeas, and other fruits,
01:21:43along with clarified butter.
01:21:45We extract the juice from the sugarcane,
01:21:47and then we put it in a big tub,
01:21:49and then we make it.
01:21:51We make it in a very good way here.
01:21:53In Liaquatpur,
01:21:55jaggery is very famous,
01:21:57as it is made from dry fruits,
01:21:59and clarified butter.
01:22:01It is a very high quality jaggery.
01:22:03In Pakistan,
01:22:05jaggery is used as a gift.
01:22:07This traditional way of making jaggery,
01:22:09is not only liked by the citizens,
01:22:11but also,
01:22:13it is sent as a gift to their loved ones,
01:22:15and they share their love.
01:22:17Asim Umtaz,
01:22:19ARY News, Liaquatpur.
01:22:21It is said that winter is not only famous,
01:22:23but also,
01:22:25a lot of delicious dishes are made,
01:22:27and new fruits come to the market,
01:22:29which are seasonal,
01:22:31such as dry fruits,
01:22:33peanuts,
