During these challenging winter days when the days grow shorter and colder, this pray asks God to “remind us that in the darkness your light still shines.”

00:00Okay, so if you can wrap your mind around this, winter does not technically start until
00:09December 21st.
00:11Even though I know this, it's still hard to remember considering that like Christmas celebrating
00:16starts- the stores have stuff out even right after Halloween.
00:21But there really is this transition period after Thanksgiving as we're moving into Advent
00:26that kind of slows down where we can, yeah, basically transition into a new season.
00:31And what that looks like will be different for every person.
00:33There really is something in nature that speaks to our souls with the trees losing leaves,
00:39everything kind of becoming silent and bare.
00:41So here's a prayer for winter to help you start off the season.
00:46Lord, in the midst of winter when the days are cold and wind can pierce, remind us of
00:52the warmth of your love.
00:54In the midst of winter when days are short, dawn comes late, and dusk arrives early, remind
01:01us that in the darkness your light still shines.
01:06In the midst of winter when the flowers of spring still lie hidden in the earth, when
01:11leaves are off the trees and the world can seem bleak, remind us that Easter is but a
01:16short time away.
01:19And when in our lives we feel as if we are experiencing a season of winter, reach out
01:25to us with the power of your resurrection so that we may feel the warmth of your love
01:31and see your light that alone can take away the darkness of our soul.
01:35Amen.
