00:00After securing a comeback victory in Game 2 against the UP Fighting Maroons,

00:04the De La Salle University Green Archers tied the series in the UEAP Season 87 Men's Basketball Finals.

00:11Here's a report from Jamaica Bayaka.

00:19The Mall of Asia arena resonated with the cheers of UP Fighting Maroons fans,

00:24filling the anticipation of an impending celebration

00:28with 7-point lead in the last 4 minutes of the game.

00:31But the Green Archers' battle wasn't over yet as Mike Phillips nailed a hookshot

00:36just before the shot clock expired.

00:38Two-time MVP Kevin Kimbao followed it up with a clutch 3-pointer

00:43to cut the Fighting Maroons' lead to a single possession.

00:46The defending champions took the advantage as Phillips continued to score.

00:50In the closing seconds of the game,

00:53Francis Lopez missed both free throws and UP ran out of time,

00:57ending the game with a final score of 76-75.

01:01KQ finished the game with a game-high 22 points, 9 rebounds, and 2 assists,

01:06while Phillips listed 18 points and 12 rebounds.

01:23We were telling ourselves that if it's going to be given to us,

01:26you know, it's going to be given.

01:27But we just kept on holding on to each other.

01:30We were making mistakes, but these guys were just, you know, supporting each other.

01:36UP head coach Goldwyn Monteverde said that they need to put this game behind them

01:41to focus on how they can bounce back in the next match.

01:44We did our best to, you know, to try to execute what we want offensively.

01:50That's how basketball is, right? It's either miss or made.

01:54What's important right now is, you know,

01:58from here, how we're going to bounce back.
