00:00Hi guys! Oh, there's our surprise guest! He's here already!
00:08Hello!
00:09It's Michael! Hi Michael, how are you?
00:11Hello Miss Pia, I'm doing fine. Thank you for asking.
00:15Oh, thanks for being on the show and for the surprise.
00:17First of all, to everyone watching and listening, our surprise guest for today is none other than Michael Seger who comes out in Shining Inheritance.
00:25That's what you're planning to do today, right Michael?
00:27Yes, Shining Inheritance this afternoon.
00:30Actually, the last time I saw you was when we had a telethon for the victims of Hurricane Christine.
00:36If I'm not mistaken, you were in the lobby, right?
00:38Yes.
00:39You were one of those who answered the calls.
00:41Yes, I answered the calls.
00:42Michael, what are you busy with right now? I'm sure you're very busy.
00:46Nothing for now. We finished taping for Shining Inheritance, so I'm very thankful for that.
00:53And currently, I'm a host for Tiktok Clock. You can see me there every morning.
00:58And now, I'm working on something new with public affairs.
01:02Wow!
01:03A new show.
01:04That's a lot to keep you busy.
01:06How would you describe the difference between doing a live show like Tiktok Clock and taping for a series like Shining Inheritance?
01:15Their challenges are different, right?
01:16It's very different.
01:17And honestly, I told my managers that for me, hosting is an escape.
01:22Maybe because when I host, I just enjoy it.
01:25And I just bring good vibes.
01:28And when it comes to acting, it's really where the passion comes out.
01:32Maybe it's more serious because the craft takes me to a different place as a character, as a person.
01:37So, I'm happy with both.
01:39And they are very different, but the fact that I'm blessed to do both is for me a big blessing.
01:45Because I'm able to have a different environment in the show business.
01:49In each show, it's very different.
01:51Is Shining Inheritance your first series?
01:54For me, it's my first drama and lead role.
01:58Because my first ever show on GMA was Love Is Caught In His Arms, our Wattpad adaptation.
02:04So, that's where it started.
02:06And then, Sparkling You and Shining Inheritance was one of my bigger roles that I have done.
02:13The cast of Shining Inheritance is amazing.
02:16I mean, you're working with such big names and drama.
02:19Yeah, legends. Exactly.
02:20First of all, Ms. Connie Reyes is part of the show.
02:23How is it working with her?
02:25Every time I get asked how is it working with Tita Connie, it's a blessing.
02:29It's really a blessing to be sharing a scene with the Tita Connie Reyes.
02:33She's different. Her relationship is different.
02:36She's my grandma in Shining Inheritance.
02:38And throughout the taping until now, she's still my grandma in real life.
02:42She's someone that I can talk to.
02:44She's such a religious person.
02:48She shares her good faith, good will with everyone on set.
02:52She taught not just me but my castmates.
02:54There are a lot of lessons about our faith, about how to be a good citizen.
02:59It's just great to have that guidance.
03:02Also in acting, she'll also support.
03:04So, to have a guidance like that on set or as a co-actor, it's really a blessing.
03:11That's all I can say.
03:12There's times I may share that I had a crying scene, the two of us.
03:16Crying scenes are challenging for me.
03:18But Tita Connie, although she's already a veteran, she doesn't need help.
03:22She still goes out of her way to help me, to help our castmates,
03:25to support and to help me finish the scene and to execute it properly.
03:30So, I'm very thankful that I met Tita Connie.
03:33Wow, and I can imagine how challenging that must be to try and hold your own in scenes with such legends.
03:41Yes, super.
03:42But I'm sure you can do it.
03:44I always give it my best.
03:48Was this something that you had always wanted to do, Michael, to be an actor, an artist?
03:54You know, it all came out of the blue, honestly.
03:57Although I was born here in Mariduke, when I was three years old,
04:01my family and I migrated to Vancouver, Canada.
04:04So, I lived there almost my whole life.
04:07And I was exposed to Filipino showbiz because then we would watch Pinoy shows on TV.
04:14And I was hooked.
04:16Before, my sister and I would always watch KathNiel.
04:18That was our favorite.
04:21So, I was into the dramas.
04:24But I was very shy growing up.
04:26It's something that I didn't see myself doing because
04:29I didn't want to embarrass myself if I was asked to sing Christmas songs.
04:32I couldn't do that.
04:33But when I auditioned for a reality TV show here in the Philippines while I was in Canada,
04:38there was just, for me, a spark that happened.
04:40I developed a passion.
04:42I just enjoyed what I did to entertain people.
04:44Although it was at a small platform, only online,
04:47I knew then that I wanted to take it a step further.
04:50I wanted to go home to the Philippines to try it out and just see what there has,
04:54what opportunity there is.
04:55Because it was a waste of my mindset.
04:57I just graduated high school.
04:59I asked my parents for a gap year.
05:01So, one year off from college.
05:03And luckily, they allowed me.
05:04But there was a pandemic.
05:05So, it was still a very difficult time.
05:08So, during the one year, I went home to the Philippines.
05:11I really tried.
05:12I auditioned for everything.
05:13And luckily, things just fell into place.
05:15I was guided to the right people, my managers.
05:18And yeah, from there, I'm super thankful to be where I am.
05:22But ever since growing up, what I really wanted was architecture.
05:26And to be a pilot.
05:27That was my route.
05:29But maybe the pandemic changed and it happened for reasons
05:33that's why I went here.
05:35So, it's been a long gap year.
05:37The gap year has been extended.
05:39It's a very long gap year.
05:41It's been 23 years.
05:43Actually, last November 24 was the mark.
05:45That's when I first came home, November 24, 2021.
05:48So, it's been 3 years now.
05:50Wow!
05:51Have you been back to Canada since you came here?
05:53Yeah, I went back home last March for Holy Week.
05:56Okay.
05:57Yeah, I was there for a month.
05:58At least, you had a break.
05:59But I'm curious, Michael, because you speak Tagalog.
06:03I mean, you can speak Tagalog, right?
06:05So, that means…
06:06But you said you migrated when you were 3 years old.
06:09That means you speak Tagalog at home.
06:11Yeah.
06:12Well, our rule at home is only Tagalog.
06:16We can't speak English.
06:17Because in Canada, nobody teaches Tagalog.
06:20And there aren't many Filipinos in our time when we migrated.
06:23So, she said,
06:25we have to maintain this because your cousins don't talk to you when you come home.
06:29So, that's what they always tell me.
06:31So, my parents would get mad at me in Tagalog.
06:33We'd explain stuff to me in Tagalog.
06:35So, in that way, I got used to Tagalog.
06:38But when I was in grade 11 or 12,
06:41I got used to English.
06:42I lost my love for Tagalog.
06:45But then, eventually, at the time,
06:47that's when I started doing showbiz stuff.
06:49Then, I had to learn Tagalog again.
06:51That was my slump.
06:52When I just got home,
06:53my words were really slumped.
06:57So, it's still a learning process.
07:00But that's great.
07:01Because if you hadn't said that you were 3 years old when you migrated,
07:06I would have thought,
07:07maybe he's a little older when he migrated
07:09because he can speak Tagalog.
07:11He's not poor.
07:13But do you have siblings, Michael?
07:15I do.
07:16I have an older sister.
07:17There are two of us.
07:19Is she not fond of showbiz?
07:23Here's a funny story.
07:24My older sister is very talented in singing.
07:27She can dance.
07:28For sure, she also wants to act.
07:30So, at the time, when we were still in Canada,
07:32she was the one who taught me.
07:34Because my parents know how to sing.
07:36So, they would coach her and help her.
07:39She sings Disney songs.
07:41So, she was the one who taught me showbiz.
07:43So, I said,
07:44now that we're talking,
07:45what happened?
07:46Why am I in this position?
07:50So, what does your older sister do now?
07:53Well, she's doing her own thing.
07:55She has her own non-profit organization in Canada.
07:59She recently graduated.
08:00So, nothing to do at all with showbiz?
08:01No, very far.
08:02She's very in the business world.
08:05You said your parents would sing and dance, right?
08:08I knew.
08:09But you don't have...
08:10I sing.
08:11Ah, you sing.
08:12So, you don't have showbiz blood in the family?
08:14Were you the first to become an artist?
08:16No, I wasn't.
08:17I was the very first.
08:18I tried to become an artist.
08:22So, in the name of Seger, I was the first.
08:25Actually, I was going to ask
08:26if Seger was your real name
08:28or is it your screen name?
08:30No, yeah.
08:31People get confused.
08:33They ask if I'm half.
08:34And I'm always like,
08:35no, I'm full Filipino.
08:36It's just my last name is North German.
08:38So, this is my last name.
08:40It's Seger.
08:41We really don't have a last name.
08:43My parents said,
08:44like their great-great-grandparents,
08:46that there was a German who came to Romblon at the time
08:49that spread his name.
08:51But I don't know.
08:52I haven't done my ancestry.
08:53But it's simple.
08:54My last name is just German.
08:57Oh, okay.
08:58That's great.
08:59Because I was wondering
09:00if it's your screen name
09:02or if you really have a last name.
09:05But how interesting your story, Michael.
09:07And now that you've been on your third gap year,
09:11enjoying this new craft that you have found,
09:14what are the biggest challenges for you?
09:17Was it the language?
09:18Was it performing?
09:20Because you said you were very shy before.
09:22You know, the crazy thing about this industry,
09:25I feel like even if you're an introvert,
09:27it teaches you to be an ambivertent,
09:28to be extroverted.
09:29You have to really have the skill
09:32to talk to people,
09:33to be comfortable,
09:34especially on set,
09:35on hosting,
09:36whatever it is.
09:37There are so many people.
09:38So, I learned to adapt.
09:40That was a big challenge for me,
09:42to adapt to the environment.
09:43But also the fact that
09:44my dad just brought me here.
09:46So, I'm independent here in the Philippines.
09:48Living alone was the biggest challenge for me at 18.
09:51Although I was with the guidance of my aunt
09:53until now in March.
09:54Maybe I still wanted to be more independent.
09:57I wanted to tackle problems on my own.
09:59But living in Canada
10:01and then moving to the Philippines,
10:02the system is different,
10:03the ways are different.
10:04So, that's where I got the challenge
10:06that it's really different.
10:09The adult life hit me fast at 18.
10:13So, until now,
10:14it's still a learning process for me.
10:16So, that's probably the biggest challenge.
10:18You're alone,
10:19but I don't feel alone.
10:20It's just that there's a distance
10:22between my family and I.
10:24Maybe it's because you were trained
10:27because in Canada,
10:28you would do your own chores.
10:30Unlike here,
10:31you can't get used to the chores
10:33until you're living alone, right?
10:35So, even before you came here,
10:37you already know how to cook,
10:38do the laundry,
10:39clean the house.
10:40Well, I can cook.
10:41I eat better.
10:44So, I know how to cook.
10:47In Canada,
10:48we're taught independent living already
10:51because it's culturally there.
10:52At 18, you move out.
10:54So, my timing is just right.
10:55At 18, I moved out.
10:56But our family tradition is different.
10:59I'm still very family-oriented.
11:01I'm Filipino.
11:02I want to be with my parents
11:04until we get married.
11:06So, I'm not just used to it.
11:08But back in Canada,
11:09I was working part-time jobs already.
11:11One of them was
11:12in the extra talent background.
11:15I was a passerby.
11:16That's when I started to earn money.
11:18Yeah.
11:19And then eventually,
11:20I became an ice cream scooper
11:21during the summer.
11:22And then I got a job
11:23as a part-time sales associate
11:25in a shoe store.
11:26So, I sold shoes.
11:28So, in Canada,
11:29our training is that
11:30we have to earn for ourselves,
11:32earn for our family
11:33at a young age
11:35so that we're ready for the future.
11:37So, at least,
11:38I was able to earn for myself.
11:39That's great.
11:40You've done a lot already.
11:41I'm thinking of what you've mentioned,
11:42being an extra,
11:43an extra talent,
11:44and then doing the shoe salesman,
11:47and then being an ice cream scooper.
11:49Ice cream scooper
11:50seems to be the hardest, right?
11:51Because the ice cream is hard, right?
11:53It's the hardest,
11:54but it's the most delicious.
11:56Because every time
11:57there are no customers,
11:58I just eat ice cream.
12:01There's free ice cream on the job.
12:03Yes.
12:05It's like a summer job.
12:07Yes, it was a summer job.
12:08So, during our summer break at school,
12:10I worked full-time.
12:13At the time,
12:14I was saving up for my own car
12:16at 17.
12:17So, I worked full-time
12:19to scoop ice cream
12:20even though it hurts my hands
12:21because it's hard.
12:22So, I just worked
12:24until I had school again
12:25so I had to go part-time.
12:27Oh, okay.
12:28Well, you mentioned, Michael,
12:29that you live alone,
12:30you're living independently,
12:31but you have
12:32relatives here.
12:34Yes, actually,
12:35most of my relatives
12:36are here in the Philippines.
12:37So, that's why
12:39I love going to the Philippines
12:40because all my cousins,
12:41all my aunts are here.
12:43There are a lot of them.
12:44The more, the merrier.
12:47So, this Christmas and New Year,
12:49are you going home
12:50or will you be celebrating
12:51the holidays here?
12:53Yeah, I'll be celebrating
12:54New Year only
12:55because I don't think
12:56I'll be going to Canada.
12:58So, maybe next year, hopefully,
13:00I'll spend New Year
13:02in a different country
13:03instead of going to town.
13:05Ah, okay.
13:06Well, the question would be,
13:07who will you be with?
13:25Once you lose your respect
13:27for a person,
13:29love will never come back.
13:31If you measure 3.67 inches or less,
13:35then that's a micro-penis.
13:37Do you really have to go
13:38through all these rules
13:39before you focus on yourself?
13:41Whatever it is,
13:43just share it.
13:45With Dr. Anna Tuazon.
13:47Wherever you are,
13:49we're here.
13:50We'll listen and we'll talk.
13:53Email us at
13:54sharekulang at gmainews.tv
13:58Because in life,
13:59there are many advantages.
14:01Hashtag Sharekulang
14:08So, this Christmas and New Year,
14:10will you be going home
14:11or will you be celebrating
14:13the holidays here?
14:14Yeah, I'll be celebrating
14:15New Year only
14:16because I don't think
14:17I'll be going to Canada.
14:19So, maybe next year, hopefully,
14:21I'll spend New Year
14:23in a different country
14:24instead of going to town.
14:27Ah, okay.
14:28Well, the question would be,
14:29who will you be with?
14:33Just friends.
14:37Good answer.
14:38Very good.
14:39Because if your mom is listening,
14:40that would be the perfect answer.
14:42Yes.
14:43Yes.
14:44Anyway, I'm sure you'll be
14:45doing a video call with your family.
14:47So, she'll see
14:48who you'll be with.
14:50But I suppose,
14:52that's why you won't be able
14:53to go home
14:54because you're very busy, right?
14:55You have a lot to do.
14:57Aren't you going to be
14:58doing a show?
14:59Or have you started shooting already
15:00for a show this January?
15:02Yes.
15:03So, for that show,
15:04we are still in pre-production
15:06and we're about to start
15:07in December.
15:08So, it's a very hectic
15:09months for all of us
15:10in the production.
15:12But I'm very thankful
15:13because it's an exciting project
15:15and another opportunity
15:17that we'll be able to see
15:19the other characters
15:21in the movie.
15:22So, yeah.
15:23It's exciting.
15:24Can you tell us about it?
15:26Yes, I can.
15:27It's my Ilonga girl.
15:29So, I'll be working with Jill.
15:31Jillian Warren.
15:32Yes, with Jillian.
15:33So, you'll be shooting
15:34in Iloilo, right?
15:36So, I just heard this.
15:38In Iloilo?
15:39Yes, in Iloilo.
15:40And now, we're studying
15:42dialect to speak Ilongo.
15:44And it's challenging for me
15:45because I'm already
15:46fluent in Tagalog.
15:47So, when we did
15:48dialect training,
15:49I was already fluent.
15:51But it's a challenge
15:52that I have to overcome.
15:54For the show.
15:55Because the accent is different,
15:56right?
15:57It's like...
15:58It's gentle.
15:59Yes, it's gentle, right?
16:01You thought I was saying something,
16:03but I was just asking
16:04if you're already eating
16:05or where you're going.
16:07Have you learned anything
16:09so far
16:10that you can share with us?
16:11Thank you, Jillian.
16:13I love you.
16:15But it's really beautiful
16:16in Iloilo.
16:17I remember when we were still studying,
16:19we were there for one month
16:20for a summer teaching kids.
16:22And we were so happy
16:23because it's like
16:24you're in the city
16:25but you're close to the breakwater.
16:27It's like that.
16:28And then, you can just walk along
16:29the boardwalk.
16:31And the people are so kind.
16:33And the food is delicious, right?
16:35I'm really excited.
16:36And it's my first time
16:37to film in a different...
16:39out of town.
16:41To experience something like that.
16:44I'm excited because
16:45I love exploring the Philippines
16:47because I've only been to
16:48a few of the provinces.
16:51I can imagine
16:52how much fun you'll be having.
16:54Plus, this is your first show
16:56that you're the lead.
16:57Is that right?
16:58Yes, ma'am.
16:59Exciting!
17:02What's the reason?
17:03Nervousness or pressure?
17:06I'm always shining.
17:08I don't put pressure
17:09because my colleagues
17:10are veterans.
17:11They're really good
17:12in their craft.
17:13So, to be able to keep up with them
17:15was a different kind of pressure.
17:17But as I said before,
17:19I translated that pressure
17:21to motivation
17:22to fuel me.
17:24Even if I'm not as good as them,
17:26I'll give it my best.
17:28I'll give it my all
17:29to justify it.
17:30And now,
17:31here in My Longer Girl,
17:32maybe the pressure
17:34is in prime time
17:36and it's with Jillian Ward.
17:39So, it's good pressure.
17:41I always see it as good pressure.
17:42I always see the positive
17:43because I'm given this opportunity.
17:45So, now it's my duty
17:46to really prove
17:48to people that
17:49I deserve this spot
17:50and just work hard
17:51and give it my best all the time.
17:53In My Longer Girl,
17:55because Shining Inheritance
17:56is really a heavy drama, right?
17:58It's very dramatic.
17:59Is My Longer Girl
18:00also a heavy drama
18:02or is it more like a rom-com?
18:03It will be lighter.
18:04It's a rom-com.
18:05It's lighter.
18:06It's different for me
18:08and it's different for the viewers.
18:10It's refreshing.
18:11So, what's the basic story line?
18:13The ones you can share.
18:15Jillian is a double ganger.
18:17So, in this show,
18:18there will be two versions of Jill
18:20and that's where the problems,
18:24the fun comes in
18:25because she's a double ganger.
18:27So, that's where it revolves
18:29and we'll see how my character
18:32will react to the two Jills.
18:36So, your character is also Ilonggo?
18:39Yes, Ilonggo.
18:40That's why I'm studying Ilonggo
18:42because the script is just words.
18:45There's a mid-sentence
18:47where Ilonggo is the language.
18:50That's so cute.
18:53It must be so exciting.
18:54When do you start your taping?
18:56As in the first week of December?
18:57Yes, December 1st week.
18:59I'll start taping next week.
19:01It's good that we caught you
19:03before you fly off
19:04because you'll be very busy.
19:06And then a short break
19:08for Christmas and New Year
19:09and then back to taping right away.
19:11And then back to work.
19:13Wow.
19:14But it's always fun
19:15to do the next work.
19:17You know, you mentioned earlier, Michael,
19:20that you've only been to a few places
19:22in the Philippines
19:23because you grew up in Canada.
19:25But what are some of your favorite places?
19:26Because when you were young,
19:28did you usually go home to Marinduque?
19:30Yes, to Marinduque.
19:31Sometimes, we only go to Manila
19:33when we're on vacation.
19:35But when we're on vacation,
19:36we mostly go to Marinduque.
19:37How would you describe Marinduque?
19:39I mean, I've actually never been
19:41to Marinduque.
19:42They call it the heart of the Philippines
19:44because it's right in the middle.
19:47It's under Lucena and Batangas.
19:49It's next to the Maropa region.
19:51For me, Marinduque, to describe,
19:53it's very pure.
19:54The people there, it's pure.
19:56It's refreshing from the city life.
19:59Very nice beaches.
20:00It's small.
20:01You can go around it in a day,
20:03in a few hours.
20:04But I think that's the beauty of it.
20:06You should put that
20:07on your list of places to visit.
20:10The best time to visit
20:11is during Holy Week
20:12because there's a Moriones Festival.
20:14Oh, that's right.
20:15That's where everyone wears a Morion.
20:17There are a lot of people
20:18during Holy Week.
20:20So, you've been there during Holy Week
20:22and you saw the Moriones Festival?
20:24Actually, two years ago,
20:26I wore a Morion for Holy Week.
20:29Wow.
20:30Sorry, last year.
20:31I wore a Morion.
20:32That's amazing.
20:33It's a tradition for us
20:35to wear a Morion for Holy Week.
20:38It's like your sacrifice in a sense.
20:41And yeah, it's cool
20:42wearing the Roman soldier.
20:46And when you take it off,
20:47that's when they'll realize
20:48that it's Michael Sigur.
20:50Yes, that's funny.
20:53They don't know.
20:54They'll take a picture of you
20:55while you're wearing the Morion.
20:56And when you take it off,
20:57they'll take even more pictures.
21:01But Michael,
21:02your few years in Showbiz,
21:03you've been partnered with
21:05a couple of leading ladies,
21:07prominent leading ladies.
21:09Most recently, Zephanie, right?
21:11Is she the most recent?
21:13Yes, Zephanie, Kate, and Sofia.
21:16Okay, Zephanie, Kate, and Sofia.
21:18So, how would you describe
21:19working with each of them?
21:21For me, when I work with a leading lady,
21:23I just work with the available stimulus
21:26that I was taught.
21:27What we have, what we share on set,
21:29we keep it there
21:30and we just keep it bubbly and enjoyable.
21:33Because in that way,
21:34when we do our scenes,
21:35it's more natural.
21:36I just want to be happy.
21:37I always expect to be happy.
21:39Even if it's a crying scene,
21:40even if it's me,
21:41I'll always find a way
21:42to make them have a good time.
21:45Break a bit of the seriousness
21:47because although the work is very serious,
21:50sometimes it's okay to laugh.
21:52So, with Zephanie,
21:54I worked with her on Sparkle You.
21:56That was my recent series.
21:59And with Zeph,
22:01we were very close.
22:03We have the same management
22:04with Cornerstone.
22:05We entered GMA at the same time.
22:07And she's very playful.
22:10My playfulness matches hers.
22:13So, when we're on set,
22:14I'm really playful.
22:16And she doesn't let us lose.
22:18She's very competitive.
22:19That's why our dynamic is so different on screen.
22:24Because in real life,
22:26she's really funny
22:27because that's how we are in real life.
22:28The scenes where we fight,
22:30we argue,
22:31that's how we are in real life.
22:32We're like cats and dogs.
22:34It's very funny.
22:36I remember when I interviewed Zephanie,
22:38she said that your shoot was out of town.
22:41Was it in Rizal?
22:42No.
22:43It was in Rizal and Bulacan.
22:44Ah, Rizal and Bulacan.
22:46She said that there's no signal.
22:48No signal.
22:49No choice but to hang out with each other.
22:52Yes.
22:54That's okay, right?
22:55Maybe when you go to Iloilo,
22:58you'll have a new bonding experience
23:00with your new co-stars there.
23:02But let's say among all the other artists
23:05that you have worked with,
23:06is there somebody that you're particularly close to?
23:10I mean, not to put any meaning into it,
23:12but just somebody you're more comfortable with
23:14that you really hang out with,
23:15that even after the show,
23:16you still talk to each other.
23:18It doesn't have to be a girl, right?
23:20Even with the guys that you've worked with.
23:23Yeah.
23:24Maybe when I was a part of Tahay ng Pinaka Masaya,
23:28I created many good relationships there.
23:31I was a part of a group called the Chaleco Boys.
23:34We were all wearing chalecos.
23:35There were four of us.
23:36Kim Poy, Yasmin, and Kokoy.
23:38Maybe those three were the ones
23:40that really developed my real and genuine friendships
23:43in the showbiz.
23:44Because it's difficult to make friends in this industry,
23:47but when you find the right people
23:49and people who give the same effort,
23:51it's a blessing.
23:52Because it's fun to have someone in the same field as you
23:56that you can bond with.
23:58Because it makes the work easier.
24:00So, Kim Poy, Yasmin,
24:02we were out of town before in Hong Kong.
24:05And Kokoy, we were always together.
24:08And Mavie and Cassie,
24:10I'm very close with them in twins.
24:12Actually, the whole cast of Tahay ng Pinaka Masaya,
24:15even Kuya Pau, Mami Tia,
24:17Ate Nguyen, Kuya Betong,
24:19Ara, the rest,
24:21we all have a relationship.
24:22Maybe they're the ones that developed the family.
24:25Because at the time,
24:27we met every day,
24:29we hosted.
24:30So, our closeness,
24:31on and off screen,
24:32we bonded.
24:33The bond is different when you're doing a live daily show, right?
24:36Yes, we always see each other.
24:38So, Mavie and Cassie,
24:40you got close to them also on Tahay ng Pinaka Masaya?
24:43Yes, that's actually where I met them
24:46and got to talk to.
24:47Because I met them before in Starup, right?
24:49But it was quick because it was just a guesting.
24:51Ah, okay.
24:53Nice, so you hung out.
24:54But do you have somebody special in your life right now?
24:59Yes, we do.
25:01Cassie and I, we're very special friends.
25:05Oh, okay. Wow.
25:07I had a feeling but I wasn't so sure.
25:10Yeah.
25:11Oh, that's nice.
25:12And nice that you mentioned you're close to Mavie, right?
25:15Yeah.
25:16Actually, with Tita Mina as well.
25:17Because Tita Mina and I worked together
25:20in Abad Kamay when I guested.
25:22Oh, okay.
25:23And Tito Z as well.
25:26Oh, friends with the whole family.
25:28Completo na.
25:30The people you need to be friends with, yun na yun.
25:35In Abad Kamay na Pangarap, nakatrabaho mo na rin si Jillian.
25:38I mean, naka-escena mo siya.
25:39Actually, nung Abad Kamay pa,
25:41parang naging love interest din si Jill noon.
25:44So, dun yung first pairing na kami.
25:46Yeah, so it was really fun.
25:48Okay, I missed that part na pair kayo together also.
25:52But now, I'll be watching out for yung pairing ninyo
25:55sa my Ilongga girl.
25:57Yes, thank you po.
25:59Well, Michael, thank you for taking time out to chat with us.
26:04It's so nice to chat with you.
26:05Parang feeling ko we can spend hours talking,
26:08having coffee, merienda, parang gano'n, di ba?
26:12But I know you're very busy.
26:14We do have lang a quick game before we wrap things up here.
26:19So, basahin ko yung mechanics ng game natin.
26:22Since the title ng current project mo,
26:24Shining Inheritance kasi, di ba?
26:26It has something to do with shine and shining.
26:28So, I'll give you one of two options
26:31na sa tingin mo ay mas lalong magsha-shine.
26:34Okay, and then you explain na lang briefly why.
26:37Why you think this is the thing that you will shine in
26:40or this for you is parang mas makinang to sa buhay mo.
26:43So, ikaw na pahala mag-interpret.
26:45Sige po.
26:46Okay, so first for you, ano bang mas nagsha-shine for you?
26:50Singing or dancing?
26:51Or would you rather sing or dance?
26:53I love both.
26:54Before kasi, I did dancing as part of a competitive hip-hop team
26:59as lang bata pa po ako.
27:01Wow, really?
27:02So, super liit pa ako noon dancing.
27:06So, I like dancing but singing po shines for me more
27:10because, I don't know, it's a different way to express anything,
27:14feelings, and siguro when I do regional shows or mall shows,
27:17mas nage-enjoy po ang tao, nakikanta sila.
27:21So, in general, singing talaga po, mas nasaya.
27:24When you say nag-competitive hip-hop dance ka,
27:28as in regional, school, ganyan, national?
27:32Ano talaga po siya, regionals, kasi dance studio,
27:36I took it separately.
27:38It was a dance studio in Canada and training phase pa po kami.
27:42Hindi lang ako nagtuloy-tuloy but I was for the,
27:45parang mga second stage na ako kasi grade 7 ako nag-start.
27:50So, ayun.
27:51We were all young kids and we were just hip-hop dancing
27:55and I got to compete sa region namin.
27:57It was really a good experience.
27:58Cute naman.
27:59Will we find that online?
28:00Hindi na nga po eh.
28:01Wala din ang kopya.
28:02Sayang.
28:03Saya.
28:04I'm sure mommy mo meron.
28:05Yeah, I'll ask my mom.
28:08How about this?
28:10Lead role or kontrabida?
28:12Oh, wow.
28:13You know, kontrabida po kasi it's more challenging
28:17but I feeling ko kontrabida kasi you have more freedom
28:20to explore different acting techniques
28:23and to really showcase your skills.
28:26So, I really like the lead and kontrabida
28:29but I wanted to try kontrabida one day, eventually.
28:32So, siguro shining muna yung lead kasi gusto ko muna
28:36ituloy-tuloy yun but one day I wanted to kontrabida.
28:39Oh, yeah. That's right.
28:40Para you get to try everything.
28:43How about this?
28:44I'm sure you will want to do this also
28:47but which one would shine for you more?
28:49Dramatic actor or action star?
28:51Oh, my gosh.
28:53So, shining po kasi.
28:54Nag-action-action kami doon.
28:56Yes, I'm lucky.
28:57Direct gusto ko ito.
28:59Kasi I'm very, I'm into athletics, sports po ako.
29:03So, the fact na rin sa trabaho po may mga stunts
29:07and fighting scenes.
29:08Krabi, enjoy na-enjoy ako.
29:10Although, nakakapagod siya.
29:11Iba yung feeling na makita mo yung eksena, actor.
29:15So, dramatic actor is also very challenging
29:19but I don't know.
29:20For me, my dream role po is a James Bond-inspired.
29:23So, gusto ko action.
29:25Action shines for me more.
29:27Oh, that's nice.
29:28Alam ko kung kanino ka pwede humingi ng tips for action.
29:31Kay Tito Z.
29:33Yeah.
29:35Kaya talaga action star, diba?
29:37Yes.
29:39But, what are the sports that you enjoy?
29:43Well, in Canada po kasi, they teach us many sports
29:46as part of the curriculum.
29:47So, I used to play hockey, ice hockey, soccer, rugby,
29:52ultimate frisbee, basketball, volleyball.
29:54Lahat din to.
29:55Lahat na po talaga na-try ko.
29:57Lahat na?
29:59At super competitive talaga.
30:02Ayaw ko yung kahit friendly game,
30:05but sa competition.
30:07So, very ano lahat.
30:09Were you ever on a varsity team?
30:11Yes po.
30:12The main sport that I played was basketball talaga.
30:14That's where I invested my high school years into training
30:18and playing sa varsity team.
30:20Oh, nice.
30:21Basketball is such a big sport here.
30:23Yes po.
30:24How about this?
30:26Love team or no love team?
30:29Oh, wow.
30:30It's a good question.
30:31Kasi, there's pros and cons to both.
30:34But, for me kasi, I like the opportunity to work with
30:38other leading ladies just because it's refreshing.
30:42But, for me, I never would turn down a love team
30:45kasi po, if it's really good talaga, why not, right?
30:49And if it's a good partnership, I would love to do it.
30:52But, what shines for me more is no love team
30:54just because the freedom siguro to work with other leading ladies
31:00and to expand my craft more din po.
31:03Kasi, working with different leading ladies,
31:06iba yung nadadala nila.
31:07Iba yung kailangan kong gawin.
31:09So, natututo ako.
31:11Ibang experience din yung natututo ako.
31:14Nice.
31:15This one, last na.
31:16Medyo mahirap to.
31:18Winning an award or starring in a box office movie?
31:23Wow!
31:24Two great achievements.
31:29Wow!
31:30Feeling ko po, an award is good.
31:32But, it's challenging.
31:35Siguro, I would say, may shines for me more sa box office.
31:39Kasi, feeling ko, that means for me that people enjoyed the movie
31:44kumpaga that they really went out to watch.
31:47So, yeah.
31:48I'd say box office.
31:49But, an award would be really nice din.
31:51Both na lang talaga, diba?
31:53Win an award for that box office movie.
31:58Michael, thank you so much for being so game,
32:01telling us all your stories.
