00:00The evacuation of more than 12,000 residents living near Vulcan Canlaon continues.
00:05Authorities have now confirmed the safety of the evacuation and are asking for help from our affected countrymen.
00:12This is Ryan Lisiges of PTV in Balitang Pambansa.
00:18The Philippine National Police or PNP is also helping to carry out the evacuation of the residents living near Vulcan Canlaon.
00:26According to the PNP spokesperson, Police Brigadier General Gene Fajardo,
00:3024 barangays have been affected by the volcano.
00:34Four of them were directly affected by the eruption.
00:37Almost 4,000 families were evacuated and more than 12,000 individuals.
00:44When they are evacuated, we will leave the police there to make sure that they will not return to the critical areas
00:53to avoid any incident where they will return and suddenly erupt again.
00:59This time, it will be stronger. We will have a harder time.
01:01There are 400 police deployed and some are already on standby from other units
01:06that can be sent if needed.
01:08The DILG immediately ordered the local government unit or LGU to evacuate the residents
01:15living in the four to six kilometer permanent danger zone.
01:19The evacuation of those in the vulnerable sector is particularly targeted,
01:23including pregnant women, children, the elderly, and the elderly.
01:28At the same time, the DILG Secretary John Vicremulia also ordered
01:33to immediately distribute food and non-food items, even personal protective equipment.
01:38Critical teams like search and rescue, evacuation, and medical services should also be on standby

01:52to declare a state of calamity, suspension of classes, jobs, and others if necessary.
