00:00The evacuation continues around Mt. Canlaon, where more than 12,000 people are affected.

00:08PNP, DILG, and DSWD were alerted about the safety and help for those who are in danger.

00:16The Philippine National Police or PNP is also helping to carry out the evacuation of the residents who are living at the foot of the volcano Canlaon.

00:26According to PNP spokesperson, Police Brigadier General Jean Fajardo, there are now 24 barangays affected by the volcano.

00:34Four of them are directly affected by the eruption.

00:38Almost 4,000 families were evacuated, or more than 12,000 individuals.

00:43To the affected areas, when they are evacuated, we will leave the police there to make sure that they will not return to the critical areas

00:54so that we can avoid any incident where they will return and erupt again. This time, it will be stronger. We will have a hard time.

01:02More than 400 police are deployed and there are also people on standby from other units who can be sent if needed.

01:09DILG immediately ordered the local government unit or LGU to evacuate the residents who are living in the four to six-kilometer permanent danger zone.

01:20The evacuation of those in the vulnerable sector, including pregnant women, children, adults, and those with children, is a particular priority.

01:29At the same time, DILG Secretary John V. Cremulia also ordered the immediate distribution of food and non-food items,

01:36even personal protective equipment.

01:39There should also be critical teams on standby, such as search and rescue, evacuation and medical services, to immediately deploy in high-risk areas.

01:49DILG is also giving power to local chief executives to declare a state of calamity, suspension of classes, jobs and others if necessary.

01:59Meanwhile, DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian assured that they will continue to provide assistance to all those affected by the eruption of Vulcan Canlaon.

02:10He declared a state of calamity on his trip yesterday to Negros Island to know the situation and needs of the affected residents.

02:18According to Gatchalian, this is in accordance with the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. that food, clean water and other necessities will be provided to the families evacuated.

02:31DSWD will continue to provide assistance to local government units to ensure the proper situation of our countrymen in evacuation centers.

02:40The mobile command center of DSWD Western Visayas has arrived in La Castellana, Negros Occidental,

02:46which is expected to speed up the service to the affected families.

02:51The mobile command center of DSWD Central Visayas was transported to Canlaon City.

02:57Aside from its advanced communication technology, the MCC can supply electricity and internet connection to the residents.
