00:00Today, 55-year-old David Andrews in Belfast has been sentenced for 130 charges of sexual
00:06abuse relating to 47 victims, 46 of which are children.
00:12On 27 March 2020, we were contacted by Derbyshire Police about reports that a number of underage
00:18girls had been groomed online by a man believed to be residing in Northern Ireland, using
00:23the alias of a 13-year-old boy.
00:27Andrews was then arrested and a number of electronic devices seized, uncovering nearly
00:3210,000 indecent images of children and approximately 40 different usernames that he had used to
00:38pose as young boys online.
00:41He used the same pattern of behaviour every time to groom young girls via Snapchat and
00:46Instagram into believing they were in a relationship with a young boy of a similar age.
00:52He would then encourage them to send indecent images of themselves, later using these images
00:57to threaten, blackmail and abuse them.
01:01He has caused unimaginable, long-lasting harm, not only for the young girls he preyed upon,
01:07but also their families, spanning right across the United Kingdom.
01:12We are here to put a stop to those who think they can abuse children in our society.
01:17Let this serve as a warning to those operating online and hiding behind fake accounts and
01:21firewalls.
01:22You will be caught and you will face the full force of the law when you are.
