00:00Bangladesh has been in a state of extreme unrest for the past few days.
00:12After the Haseena government was overthrown in the middle of the last year,
00:16the Antartic government is ruling the country under the leadership of Mohammad Yunus.
00:20But since the beginning of November, Bangladesh has been plagued by the
00:26activities of the Indian Foreign Ministry.
00:29For several months in a row, the atrocities committed against the
00:34number of Sanatanis in the country have been repeated several times.
00:39The Indian national flag has been severely insulted.
00:43The Indian Foreign Minister has met with the current Foreign Minister
00:48of most of the countries.
00:50India is eager to work with the Antartic government in secret.
00:55India will also aim to establish diplomatic relations with the
01:00Antarctic states.
01:03At the same time, the government of Bangladesh has been
01:07told by the Indian government that it is in a state of extreme unrest.
01:11After meeting with the foreign ministers of Bangladesh,
01:16he said that the Indian Foreign Minister, Bikram Misra,
01:20At the invitation of my Bangladesh colleague, His Excellency Mohammad Jashimuddin, the Foreign
01:33Secretary of Bangladesh, for discussions and consultations on the entire gamut of issues
01:44in the extremely important bilateral relationship between India and Bangladesh.
01:51Since the political changes in Bangladesh in August this year, there has of course been
01:57contact between our leaderships.
01:59The Prime Minister was the first world leader to greet the Chief Advisor on his assumption
02:05of office.
02:07The two of them had a very cordial telephone conversation thereafter, and the Chief Advisor
02:12also accepted the Prime Minister's invitation to speak at the third Voice of the Global
02:18South Summit that was held in August this year.
02:23Since then, the External Affairs Minister and the Foreign Affairs Advisor have also
02:28been in touch.
02:29They met each other on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York in September
02:34this year, and my visit follows those interactions and is the first Foreign Secretary-level structured
02:42engagement between the two sides following those developments.
02:47Today's discussions have given both of us the opportunity to take stock of our relations,
02:53and I appreciate the opportunity today to have had a frank, candid and constructive
03:01exchange of views with all my interlocutors.
03:05I emphasized that India desires a positive, constructive and mutually beneficial relationship
03:13with Bangladesh.
03:15We have always seen in the past, and we continue to see in the future, this relationship as
03:22a people-centric and people-oriented relationship, one that has the benefit of all the people
03:30as its central motivational force.
03:33This is reflected on a daily basis in the development projects that have been executed
03:40on the ground in Bangladesh and that continue to be developed.
03:45It is also reflected in the mutually beneficial engagement we have on a whole set of issues
03:51ranging from trade, commerce, connectivity, power, water and energy, and development cooperation,
04:00consular cooperation and cultural cooperation.
04:03There is no reason why this mutually beneficial cooperation should not continue to deliver
04:09in the interests of both our peoples.
04:12And to that end, therefore, I have underlined today India's desire to work closely with
04:18the Interim Government of Bangladesh authorities.
04:22At the same time, we also had the opportunity to discuss certain recent developments and
04:28issues and I conveyed our concerns, including those related to the safety and welfare of
04:36minorities.
04:38We also discussed some regrettable incidents of attacks on cultural, religious and diplomatic
04:44properties.
04:45We expect, overall, a constructive approach on all these issues by the Bangladesh authorities
04:52and we look forward to moving the relationship forward in a positive, forward-looking and
04:58constructive direction.
05:29the future.
