00:00Hello and welcome to People on the Street. I'm Theo Hewson-Betts and today I'm out in
00:03Manchester asking people about public transport and that's because we're
00:07entering into the festive period now which means new timetables and a lot of
00:11people coming into the city. We want to know whether people think that the
00:13infrastructure here in Manchester is good enough to support all these people
00:16or whether it needs a little bit of improvement.
00:19Yeah, public transport tends to struggle
00:21at market times because there's so many people coming in and out and everybody wants to
00:25drink so nobody wants to drive, all that sort of stuff.
00:28Unfortunately, I found myself on the HE3 about three days ago and a surprisingly pleasant journey.
00:35I think it's a city challenge, I don't think, I mean it might be a problem with
00:39infrastructure but if it is it's a problem that would require less
00:42buildings and more roads which is not going to happen.
00:45I'm off to London on Thursday, in fact I'm off to Kent and I'm driving down
00:50because it's just unreliable and just the stress of travelling by rail to
00:55London and beyond is just not worth the hassle, so I drive.
