00:00Hello, my name's Ian Griffin, Deputy Editor of Midlands Business Insider, and I'm here
00:12at the McDonald Burlington Hotel in the centre of Birmingham at the Midlands Young Professionals
00:18Awards. It's a sellout, more than 300 people are going to be here, and they'll see the
00:23presentation of 10 awards tonight. This event's in its second year after a successful first
00:29inaugural year last year. It's going to be a great night. It's a celebration of those
00:35rising stars aged 35 and under across a range of sectors right across the Midlands.
00:43My name's Emily Parks, and I work at Higgs LLP in the corporate team as a Principal Associate.
00:49It was an absolute honour to be a judge for the Midlands Young Professionals Awards this
00:53year. It was really inspiring to see all of the entries from the young professionals and
00:58the calibre of professionals that are moving up through the sectors in the Midlands. Obviously,
01:06it's really important not only to raise the profile of those young professionals and give
01:10them a confidence boost in what they're doing, but it's also great to raise the profile for
01:14the Midlands generally. I think one of the things that we noticed looking through the
01:18entries was the drive and energy that was clearly apparent amongst young professionals,
01:23and it's really encouraging to see that. It's obviously super important for the industry
01:27and the Midlands market to have that next generation of rising stars be so enthusiastic
01:33and committed to the work that they're doing.
01:35My name's Evie Millhoard, and I work for Lloyds Banking Group, and I've just won the award

01:44this award. I've worked very hard this year to unlock new business development potential
01:49within the region. I'm so passionate about working with the prospects and clients that

01:58with my clients and unlocking greater opportunity through those relationships. Thank you so
